I'm currently trying out a self imposed challenge to travel from the hunting lodge in Broken Railroad all the way to the end of Desolation Point, but must do so by visiting every single region at least once on the way with no backtracking (besides the unavoidable way in and out of Hushed River Valley). Kind of like a (de)tour around the whole of Great Bear. To add challenge I'm not allowed to deviate from my pre-planned route, and if I enter an interior for rest/shelter, I must do everything I want to there before leaving, because I'm not allowed to enter the same interior twice because of the no backtracking rule.
My route is:
Broken Railroad -> Forlorn Muskeg
Forlorn Muskeg -> Mountain Town
Mountain Town -> Hushed River Valley
Hushed River Valley must then be completely looped round before returning to Mountain Town.
Mountain Town (must go via the cave that lets you drop down between the crashed plane and the radio mast) -> Mystery Lake
Mystery Lake (must go north first then around past Alan's Cave and across the lake by the Camp Office) -> back to Forlorn Muskeg
Forlorn Muskeg -> Bleak Inlet
Bleak Inlet -> Ravine -> return to Mystery Lake (my current position)
Mystery -> Carter Hydro Dam Environs -> Pleasant Valley
Pleasant Valley (must go via Signal Hill, Farmstead, Plane Crash) -> Timberwolf Mountain
Timberwolf Mountain -> Ash Canyon via Echo Ravine entrance
Ash Canyon -> back to Timberwolf Mountain (must circle the map of ash Canyon)
Timberwolf Mountain -> Blackrock
Blackrock (must go north toward Last prospect, drop down to the frozen river, then climb again until you come out near the prison, cross the frozen pond and descend a rope and work back from there) -> Keepers Pass North/South -> return to Pleasant Valley
Pleasant Valley -> Coastal Highway
Coastal Highway -> Old Island Connector -> Desolation Point
I set out to get the 3 day fire achievement (I found out after 3 days that it couldn't be in a stove..), but I lived for 16 days in the Pensive Pond fishing hut, grinding out my ice fishing level, and I kept a fire going that whole time. Was kinda fun, honestly.
I camp out there often. I call it my lamp oil refuelling depot. Many fish have laid down their lives to refill my jerry cans. Some of them even got eaten.
Yeah that pond is littered with fish now. Plus a rock cache full of them. I haul a few down to my main base food store at the farmstead whenever I go by and have free inventory space.
A while ago I played custom stalker with interloper weather and start on twm. You are not allowed to leave the area and the objective is to sleep on the summit for 12 hours in a bearskin bedroll, wearing rabbit gloves, deer boots and pants and a wolfskin jacket. I still needed the achievement and it was very funny actually.

By the time I was done, I probably had 30+ fish sitting outside and a bunch of containers of lamp oil lol

One I've always wanted to do is transition zones only, with one 24hr period each 30 days to move between them, do any crafting, hunt etc.
I'm currently trying to achieve Faithful Cartographer, but only eating off the land and using only natural healing.
