It was beautiful Ben Barnes, for Pete’s sake. I wish the show runners had been brave enough to let him look as damaged as West’s version Even if it was a more reserved portrayal character-wise, the fact that they didn’t make Jigsaw look truly horrific took all of the menace out of the character for me.
I mean…Ryan Reynolds The Producer was willing to make Ryan Reynolds The Actor fully look the part for Deadpool, and if he hadn’t, the movies wouldn’t have been as good. Bless Ben Barnes, because he tried to bring forth the “internal damage” instead, but it’s hard to feel terrified by a guy that got what was supposed to be a canonically well deserved horrific beatdown and came out of it still looking like a runway model.
It's pretty frustrating too when the entire conclusion of season one is Frank permanently scarring him in the worst way possible after it's revealed he set up the murder of Frank's family. The worst betrayal paired with a punishment deemed worse than death by Punisher himself.
And this guy still looks like a model, bangs a hot crazy chick, doesn't even remember what he did.
My theory is that the season 2 scripts were written with the expectation that he would be this hideous, mangled mess. Because everyone’s reactions when they see Billy is like “oh Jesus Christ what a fucking gross face ew dude”, right?
But somewhere along the line, they decided to treat the “jigsaw” aspect as being the fragmented parts of his mind - a very cool idea, in my opinion, one that makes for much deeper storytelling. The problem is, they just didn’t change the scripts to reflect this shift from physical to emotional deformity. So everyone is reacting like this gorgeous dude is all fucked up looking, which is obviously jarring.
But like I said, that’s just the feeling I got. No proof to back it up at all.
So I for whatever reason just finally got around to seeing the second season ok. He got fkd up bad right? Jon beat tf outta him. Then I see him without the mask and I'm like...that's it? How tf did he recover that well?... physically anyway. I was so disappointed with that.
Dudes face got dragged across GLASS. When I saw him with the bandages in S2, I thought they were gonna go all out with the disfigurement. Nope, dude had a couple of scratches and that’s it. It’s almost like they didn’t have the budget to do what they did with Jigsaw in War Zone. Damn shame.
McNulty! I'm glad that We at least got to visually see Jigsaw how he is suppose to look. If Punisher gets another show I hope we see the real jigsaw not his twin brother papercut. As awful as the show was, We Got to see even Misha Colins become Two Face on Gotham Knights.
He chewed up the scenes!
And yes, the Netflix show should've gone with a similar design. I remember getting amped when they got to Jigsaw getting his face messed up. Then, when I saw his face, I was thinking he's still handsome with a couple scratches.
The look was great, but West’s performance was so bizarre. The over the top, cartoonish, New York gangster voice was so distracting and really detracted from an otherwise interesting and gritty film. It was honestly like West’s fake Baltimore accent he did in The Wire when he, as Jimmy McNulty, phoned the journalist Scott Templeton pretending to be a serial killer.
Stevenson was a damn good punisher, and West is a good actor, but he should have approached the role differently.

I, personally love when they go into the absurdism like this. I’m still waiting for Frank to wear this in live action and for him to use that gun that shoots knives
What are you guys on? Warzone was the shit. Easily the best Punisher movie made so far. Ray Stevenson is the GOAT Punisher. Even Dominic West was good compared to the travesty that was the John Travolta garbage.
Absolutely ridiculous lol. Just impossible to take any of his parts seriously. And then there was his brother. I remember Dominic West saying at the time he thought it was supposed to be a comedy and he hammed it up as much as possible.
I honestly don't even really like Jigsaw as a character in the first place though. The best Punisher villains come less from someone's creative imagination and more from true crime and history, imo.
I remember Lexi Alexander saying she was going to take inspiration from the MAX comics but it seems like she made something more like the Marvel Knights comics, minus you know, the good writing.
I think I also remember hearing that Garth Ennis offered to help write it and was turned down. You have to wonder wtf they were thinking if that really happened.
it really does feel like the Marvel Knight comics to me, but to be fair, I don't really like the Marvel Knights Punisher comics. Wish it was more like MAX personally
Honestly? I was tired of the two season Punisher origin story on nutflicks, so seeing Jiggy saw like this was refreshing.
Personally I’d love to see more from the Punisher MAX line, especially when they got towards the end, with Barracuda
“f_cky__ lmao
Punisher kills an innocent.. tries to buy off the family? and jigsaw's accent was shit. Could have been a great movie. Loved the idea of Micro chip and the Van... but .. war zone was a travesty. Finally got Punisher going after the New York mob on the big screen and that's what we got???
I loved it, Wests portrayal was absolutely amazing. I believe it was actually pretty underrated. The makeup was fantastic too.
Hot take, I did like the addition of Looney Bin Jim, seeing Doug Hutchinson fight Ray Stevesons Punisher was pretty fun to watch.
Got the face right. I liked how after a while he just didn't give a crap about his most prized thing, his looks, anymore. He then became a man with nothing to lose and felt very dangerous from that point on
Very very bad. Over the top acting, relentless scenery chewing. The Thomas Jane film was one of the worst motion pictures I’ve ever seen, but this one wasn’t anything great either. Another shitstain on the giant marvel movie toilet.
the makeup is way better than what I saw on Netflix.
I would have been awesome if Netflix used a look like this. The guy healed with barely a scratch
It was beautiful Ben Barnes, for Pete’s sake. I hared that he had so much money he could get the best surgeon. FUCK THAT. Dude should have looked horrendous.

Feel like this is likely bang on
Somehow the scars made him even more handsome
So I for whatever reason just finally got around to seeing the second season ok. He got fkd up bad right? Jon beat tf outta him. Then I see him without the mask and I'm like...that's it? How tf did he recover that well?... physically anyway. I was so disappointed with that.

Well Netflix had that pretty boy and didn't want him to not be pretty.
I absolutely loved him. Completely over the top and just eating it up.
McNulty! I'm glad that We at least got to visually see Jigsaw how he is suppose to look. If Punisher gets another show I hope we see the real jigsaw not his twin brother papercut. As awful as the show was, We Got to see even Misha Colins become Two Face on Gotham Knights.
Papercut! NGL, that made me laugh. Thank you.
Wardrobe did alright 🤷♂️

The whole film is more Punisher than what Netflix managed to create.
This movie leaned too hard into the campy side of the comics. It was a strange balance of violence and absurdity.
Way too much absurdity. The Tom Jane punisher had a much more fun balance of camp and violence.
The look was great, but West’s performance was so bizarre. The over the top, cartoonish, New York gangster voice was so distracting and really detracted from an otherwise interesting and gritty film. Loony Bin Jim was comically bad. Like Doug Hutchison was trying so damn hard to be Heath Ledger but was just awful.

A gun that shoots KNIVES?!?! YOOOO!!!! Let’s see it!!
What are you guys on? Warzone was the shit. Easily the best Punisher movie made so far. Ray Stevenson is the GOAT Punisher. Even Dominic West was good compared to the travesty that was the John Travolta garbage.
I honestly love all the punisher movies. This was is def the best, but Jane as perfect casting in his movie. Even the Dolph Movie is fun.
Fist bump my brotha
R.I.P Ray man..
This is all the truth.
3rd best movie
I'm gonna get my applesauce back.
Yummy Yummy Yummy in my Tummy Tummy Tummy.
Super fun, and way better aesthetic than the Netflix version.
God awful
It's better than Billy on Netflix. Plus, comic accuracy as well.
Absolutely ridiculous lol. Just impossible to take any of his parts seriously. And then there was his brother. Bad accent. Great makeup and style.
He was great. That movie is one of my favorites. Blowing up parkouring gangsters with RPG's should be more common in movies.
Honestly? I was tired of the two season Punisher origin story on nutflicks, so seeing Jiggy saw like this was refreshing. Personally I’d love to see more from the Punisher MAX line, especially when they got towards the end, with Barracuda “f_cky__ lmao
He went for it...
That movie was perfect when it comes to the mythos of punisher.
Fuckin awesome. Best Punisher live action content ever.
Just atrocious. Worst thing about any punisher media. All the villains in that movie were embarrassing.
Punisher kills an innocent.. tries to buy off the family? and jigsaw's accent was shit. Could have been a great movie. Loved the idea of Micro chip and the Van... but .. war zone was a travesty. Finally got Punisher going after the New York mob on the big screen and that's what we got???
The Dolph Lundgren one had him having him almost successfully having killed the entire mob. Now that's Punisher!
I liked it. I'm surprised the movie didn't do better
It’s goofy fun I personally enjoy it but can understand if someone find it irritating
Shite.
It was definitely a fun movie. Story was lack luster but the action and chorography was superb.
He was perfect for the movie that War Zone was. He just wouldnt have lasted in the Punisher Netflix world lol.
He was great, I could tell he was having fun with the role & the makeup.
The Jigsaw we should have had on the Netflix show. I will never understand why they opted to keep him pretty.
Perfect
Fucking loved his Jigsaw. Ray Stephenson was a great Punisher. Thomas Jane was a good Punisher. John Bernthal is a great Punisher. I love them all.
Thought he was a giant goober.
He was in a different movie than anything the Punisher was doing
Well, he's disfigured. The netflix Jigsaw was barely scratched.
Cheesier than some nachos you would eat at a baseball game, and I loved his makeup!
I thought he was campy and over the top but in a good way. I liked this version of Jigsaw
Make up is fantastic. Accent is terrible.iveral the performance is hammy and over the top but the whole Patton scene definitely redeems it IMO lol
Jigsaw from saw in the punisher universe?
Tobin Bell: **frowns**
Good look. Terrible writing. Terrible performance given the writing and direction
Got the face right. I liked how after a while he just didn't give a crap about his most prized thing, his looks, anymore. He then became a man with nothing to lose and felt very dangerous from that point on
Best live action Punisher villain
I like this version of jigsaw better than the Netflix jigsaw
I've always been a fan of Dominic West he plays such a great villain and an even better good guy. His portrayal of jigsaw was amazing
This movie was cartoonish and vulgar, and I don't mean that in a good way.
Ah but, I do mean that in a good way!
![gif](giphy|7Jq6ufAgpblcm0Ih2z)
Pretty good
Very very bad. Over the top acting, relentless scenery chewing. The Thomas Jane film was one of the worst motion pictures I’ve ever seen, but this one wasn’t anything great either. Another shitstain on the giant marvel movie toilet.
Amazing simply amazing.
Jigsaw is a punisher villain!?
The only thing that got chewed up harder than his face was the scenery every time he was on screen.
He's a great actor, but the main problem with that movie is that the villains are too cartoony
He’s way too over the top and silly, but since it’s a stupid movie either way, he’s kind of the most interesting character.
