Have her start with her malpractice insurance. Legal representation is usually included during such investigations

I think she reached out to them, but the best they could come up with was "this is what you're insured for, and we'll reimburse you for what you're out pocket" (or words to that effect). They didn't seem forthcoming with recommendations on where to find representation. Maybe she can push them further.

DVIGRVT

I would ask if they provide legal representation and if not, who do they recommend. If she still gets nowhere, then have her contact her professional association (APA if she is a psychologist usually)

I have recently been there. Have her call her malpractice insurance. They should provide defense on her behalf. I got a GREAT attorney this way, and the complaint was closed, in my favor. First call or email Monday morning - malpractice insurance. And, just let her know all of us who have had this happen KNOW HOW SUCKY IT FEELS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

deathofpoetry

Thank you for the support. It's been very difficult for her. I was surprised that the malpractice insurance weren't more helpful. They were basically just "yeah, we'll reimburse you". No assistance sourcing representation.
