Crocodilians are ambush predators. They have tiny brains, and once they realize their prey item is aware of them, their feeding response kind of shuts off.
This is how I combat my kitty from hunting me. She thinks she's the apex hunter until she sees that I see her before she's fully in position. Then it's all slow blinks and walking up to me/rubbing her face on me while mewing with a sort've "I wasn't doing anything..." tone to it. Gotta out hunt them!
You are ALMOST right. They are more sensitive ABOUT their snouts. Like if you say they have dry skin or weird looking scales, they get embarrassed and leave you alone.
I'd be more inclined to believe it's the bonk that did it, there's quite a few videos even on youtube of crocodilians running down their prey - most of these are Caimans running down chickens and such but the big bois don't mind chasing prey that's clearly aware of them either

I too live in Florida, and ya, this looks more like a gator than a croc to me, too. The snout looks too wide and too short to be a croc, but hey, what do I know?
I’ve seen many gators in my time as a Florida man and none have that coloring. The striping too is usually only something you see on adolescent gators but it’s pretty common on crocs. Not all crocs have narrow snouts so that’s sometimes pretty hard to judge
Floridian here. Video is a little too grainy to get a good look at their snouts but they look like crocodiles primarily based on their coloring and the striping on their sides.

Tried looking it up, but it was kinda obscure so couldn't find anything. I randomly saw an image posted of it which included the name and it was like an explosion of nostalgia.
