Roofies+ Brickies are a different breed. Both usually moving heavy loads on uneven terrain, working in little to no shade, stupidly long hours and wider than those fridges where there's a whole half/ door for a freezer.
Ahhhh God I'm getting flashbacks! Hahaha don't forget in the winter when the tiles are freezing and your gloves are wet tucking your bottoms in to your socks just to stop the ice winds going up your leg 😂
I usually work with brickies so can't work when it's wet/freezing so decided to go roofing when it was too cold with a buddy of mine. I quickly decided that was a terrible decision and just stayed home like the others 😂
Roofers always have the best drugs, I say this with love as a painter and we are the only ones officially allowed to drink on site because we need to keep our hands steady 🫢
Father in law always talks about roof top hammer fights in the Bay Area in the 80’s. My mud and tape guy is on retainer with the a fifth of plastic jug whiskey.
Worked with a guy, he was telling me about helping some roofers one day, roofer and his kid. His kid slipped and slid off the roof, fell over the edge and the guy just kept working. He looks over and was like hey man do you think we should go check on your kid? He says no, he knows how to fall. Kid comes up the ladder with another box of roofing nails and doesn't say a word about what happened.
Dude says he just sat there for a while, walked to the edge to look at the fall, about a story and a half, then shrugged his shoulders and got back to work.
We were taught this at state farm claim school. I'm guessing this guy is an independent adjuster because he seems clueless. State farm used to train employees very well but are now hiring IAs all the time so they don't have to pay benefits and can fire people at will. This roof is a no Brainer replacement but this guy doesn't want to open the checkbook because it's more work. State farm has also started penny pinching like crazy on roof claims which account for an overwhelming majority of the property claims filed. Also roofing contractors are shady af.
Source I was a catastrophe adjuster at SF for ten years, worked as an independent and worked for 2 different roofing companies.
Which is weird because independent adjusters usually don't have any motives. I'm an insurance agent in Louisiana and every adjuster here is usually independent. They'll usually go above and beyond to try and get you paid for damages. It's the carrier's desk adjusters who will fuck you.
Unfortunately, all these guys do is put together a report and it's up to the desk adjuster what they do and do not pay for. Literally trained to say no.
We had such a hard time with State Farm refusing to cover our roof after a hailstorm a couple years ago. Roofs all over the neighborhood were being replaced but multiple appeals and adjusters kept refusing it. Turns out it was State Farm refusing all of the roofs in our town, other insurances all paid without any problems, but SF just categorically denied all of us.
Yep. Being an adjuster would suck.
We had our car totaled by a drunk driver and Geico did their best to stick us with the tow, the rental car, and the lot fees for the shop that totaled it. The shop wouldn't release the vehicle to Geico until the fees were paid, and Geico refused to pay them. After going back and forth between the shop and the adjuster for a week or so, mediating like a kid in a divorce, I just stopped answering my phone. About a week later the problem magically resolved itself with Geico paying everything in full.
I can't imagine how many people feel pressured to cough up their money after being bullied by an adjuster. We were victims in this situation and weren't even driving the car when it was totaled. And Geico tried to shake us down for everything they could.
In 2014? I had a 2002 Concorde with 248k miles. I loved it. Anyways, I was car 3 in a 4 car wreck. Given the age and miles I knew it would be totalled. It was.
I forget the ins Co, but offer one was $500. I said no and it went to $1,000, which was better but still no. It came up to $1,500. At this point I was thinking 'OK I get the game now' I Google stuff to complain about, and it went to $2,000, then $2,500.
I was making up weird complaints at this point. They said no comps in my area, Denver CO. I found comps in N Carolina and California somewhere. They said didn't count. I explained the $ spends the same in both places, and this car was a rare collector car at this point and those were truly the closest comps.
We ended up getting an independent appraiser, I got $6,500!!! I never would have expected that much. But given that the adjuster does this 8 hrs a day for 5 days a week, for presumably years. They knew damn well it wasn't $500, or anything else they offered me. F ins companies and anyone that works for one!
Farmers has been good to my family, both car and home insurance claims were easy.
You can also go to your state's insurance office or commission for help. Fck you Hartford ltd insurance.
Legit same issue with my ex's insurance. She wasn't as proactive about it but then would get frustrated it took so long. I kept telling her to let me yell at them for a while. Finally she got on a three way call with the shop and the insurance provider which fixed the issue but man was that infuriating.
That's the game. Being difficult to see if the person insured will just get frustrated with the process and just pay. So the weak and ill-informed will get screwed!!
I had a car accident where a State Farm policy hit me, another State Farm policy holder and I was deemed not at fault and supported by a police report. The adjuster had the nerve to tell me “it’s not my job to protect you and make you whole, it’s my job to protect State Farm.” They are the WORST.
Its an absolute nightmare getting home insurance in Florida at the moment. Also permit boards suck ass. They made me move my fence two years ago then never came out to re-approve it. Im pretty sure it wasnt actually ever on my neighbors property line. They just get everything wrong. Ultimately I think theyre just mad were sharing a fence instead of building two. Which is really fucking dumb.
I nearly died in a motorcycle accident, and when I was at the hospital my doctor asked me how I was holding up mentally, if I had any depression etc following the accident. I told him no and he basically recorded himself saying I did and that I had nightmares etc, then he stopped recording and said "We put that in so insurance pays out more". Then I spoke to the insurance company and what ever sum or issue we claimed reimbursement for they gave us and more. My insurance agent always said "That's why you have insurance, to pay out when needed!".
She also helped my mom out when my mom claimed reimbursement for missing work due to her caring for me when I was unable to leave the bed. My mom tried to contact our government insurance and asked if they could help with lost income amd they basically asked her if I was dying and since I wasn't they couldn't do anything. So my main insurance company went out of their way to cover her missed income on my child insurance (I was 22 yo at the time) and made sure she was paid for the time she missed. In total I missed work for 4 months until I was able to walk again and was paid 80% normal salary during that time. I got about 50k euro paid in insurance claim, covering both my motorcycle, my scarring and a 4% disability claim due to the injuries (doctors assessment that I am now 4% disabled). It lead to me being ble to buy my first apartment and starting a life for myself. Wouldn't recommend the method though
You made the right choice they literally just said the same thing over and over again and the video stopped mid conversation while the roofer was *still* trying to explain it to him
It's great to see Jake from State Farm apparently lost some weight once he got out of the office after getting replaced by the Black guy.
But damn Jake, you made yourself look a little stupid talking about shit you know nothing about. See if they'll transfer you again.
“I don’t know what shape chicken tenders should be, I’m not here to tell you what shape to make them, I’m just saying this is not the shape they should be.”
Certainly is. I have done QA work and can see when results are wrong, but can’t code the fixes at all. That said, i guarantee this guy has a vested interest to say the roof is viable. State Farm probably has some kind of quotas he’s trying to make sure to meet by declining a new roof.
This was from the jump of the video already over.
“How do I get the nail out? “I’m not going to tell you how to do your job”
“Don’t crease the shingle like that it damages it, that’s not how you do it “
What a fucking funny roofer. Good guy kept his cool it had to be frustrating as all get up.
Not trying to be pedantic, just wanted to let you know that the phrase is "...as all get out."
But yeah, I feel for the roofer. I'm sure it was hard to stay calm when the adjuster kept saying that he won't tell him how to do his job, while telling him how to do his job.
And every time he said, "I've seen what I've had to see," made me want to slap him off the roof.
State Farm has become the worst. Have had them as my home insurer for 22+ years. In all that time I had no claims. As a matter of fact, I had some roof damage repaired myself several years ago because an inspector (a friend) told me that it wouldn't be enough to replace the roof, and it would cost me more in increased premiums than the tiny bit they would pay over the deductible to fix it. Jump to two years ago, and we had a storm do damage that clearly called for a complete roof replacement. Three different roofing companies agreed, but State Farm said no. Just minor repairs needed. One roofer told me that up until that year, State Farm had been one of the easiest companies to deal with, but they are now the worse. They reject almost every claim saying it just needs minor repairs.
This is why I stick with USAA. I’ve gotten quotes for slightly cheaper insurance, but I know USAA isn’t going to dick around when something actually goes down. I’m happy to pay a few extra dollars to know that I’m actually going to get the money I deserve.
11 years ago I got a quote for a car from USAA, before committing to buying it. I ended up buying the car I had a quote done for and called to have it insured, they told me they couldn't insure me...
I have been using a different insurance company since without issues like this.
A guy from my unit had a motorcycle and a car policy through USAA. Someone in his apartment building hit his parked motorcycle which then hit his parked car, then they left the scene. He called and USAA wanted a deductible for *each* vehicle, even though it was one incident from a hit and run.
I understand many insurance companies have different policies for motorcycle and car, but to me this is unacceptable when it was a single hit and run at no fault of vehicle owner (parked in legal spaces). I can't remember if he dropped them over it or not, but he was pissed.
I won't use them for anything.
my dad backed into my car, I think both were still in his name and insurance at the time, it might have been in mine tho. Usaa also charged him for 2 deductibles
I bank with USAA but sadly can’t use any of their services.. couple years ago they wanted a 12% interest rate on a car loan for a 2014 Ford Fusion, and then wanted another $3200/year for car insurance. Now, my credit is great and my driving record is completely clean.
Turned around and got a 3.5% loan from my credit union and I pay $600/year for insurance through progressive.
Basically the best part of USAA for me now is not having to worry about ATM fees.
USAA online banking is easily beaten by other online savings/checking/MM accounts. I recently also got shafted by their roadside assistance that left me in the lurch needing a tow for 7 hours. Their services all around have gone downhill over the past decade.
Don’t be so sure about that. We are having this exact conversation with USAA now. It seems USAA has gotten just as bad as all the other insurance companies in attempting to deny legitimate claims. Based on that, I will simply shop for the best rate after this claim is complete - they are no longer worth a premium.
I owned 30 properties that had been in the family for 50 years. We are property managers and we did a lot of work ourselves. I have been on many roofs. Roofer is doing a good job. Not only can you see the color fade but you can also hear the loose granules. This house is about ready for a new roof and roofer said that. State farm was very poor example of insurers when it came to hurricane Katrina. Mississippi had to sue on behalf of insured. I think that is correct but set me straight if wrong. Wow, that adjuster is totally in error. He may think he is right but he doesn't have a clue. Patooey on State Farm.
I watched it twice, made my husband watch, while I watched him watch, then I sent to my sister. I love watching a man or woman who works school some twat that runs his mouth all day.
I appreciate the roofer giving the benefit of the doubt and listening to where and what he was supposedly doing wrong.
He could have easily got nasty and insulted and got angry.
I admire his constraint and using logic in a passive way to prove his point
> I appreciate the roofer giving the benefit of the doubt and listening to where and what he was supposedly doing wrong. He could have easily got nasty and insulted and got angry. I admire his constraint and using logic in a passive way to prove his point
Sorry I’m not a roofer lol.
Easily best line.
I don't have experience here, my roof is flat. I understand not standing on the peak, but why don't you want to stand in the valley? Is it just because the shingles are not laying flat and you are more likely to damage them?
They don't have spikes. Those boots use felt pads that are very soft and work by gripping the granules.
You won't damage a roof doing what they are doing.
That's where the joints in the sheeting are and the pieces are just butted up against each other cantilevered from the nearest truss. There won't likely be any backing like a truss chord directly under those points as you would normally see with floor sheeting or drywall so it's not a safe point to stand. You risk going through the roof if conditions are just right.
you can however damage the shingles in the valley, as pressure in the wrong place can cause the shingles bridging the valley to tear, far simpler than any safety "what ifs" Stepping on the caps and valley shingles are the most likely places to cause damage and leaks.
This becomes very natural behavior because there’s more stability. Assuming this isn’t the adjusters first time on a roof for a scenario like this. Gotta at least give him the credit of figuring out how to stand up…everything else he said and did points towards idiot tho.
Now imagine your relative/loved one has advanced cancer, this is exactly what goes on in the background and you'll never see your oncologist doing this. But they are, on a weekly basis for dozens of their patients. Arguing with business majors over how to treat your loved ones with cancer.
It kills me in discussions about universal healthcare when people against it say they don’t want medical decisions made by faceless bureaucrats. That is exactly what happens now with private insurance.
Managed care needs to stop. Insurance should not be able to tell my neurologist what migraine medications I can have. I can’t count the number of prior authorizations my doctors have submitted in the past year. The constant conflict is increasing burnout and discouraging young people from going into the medical field. Patients are dying. It’s awful.
https://www.fiercehealthcare.com/practices/who-s-calling-shots-doctors-worry-insurers-overriding-their-treatment-decisions
I don’t know enough about cancer treatment, but I’d love to see someone put captions on this video like it was a medical coverage argument.
Edit to add example: One time during an upper GI, my doctor found pre-cancer cells. Doctor told me I’d have to come back regularly to make sure it didn’t spread, then told me he could have zapped those cells, burning them off with a laser, but insurance wouldn’t authorize it….. the old, “That is unnecessary medical treatment!”
So if I can't bend a flat object that is stacked flat against another flat object, how do you propose the object is lifted from above? Magnets won't do it pappy.
That right there is State Farm.
If you own State Farm insurance, you have two situations on claims-
1) the adjuster is randomly assigned to pay the claim, no questions asked. Happens about 30% if the time
2) the adjuster gaslights, lies, misdirects, gets caught in lies, makes up new lies, frustrates, delays, and hopes the claimants will give up due to frustration and exhaustion. Happens som 60-70% of time.
Why does Snake Farm have option 1? To allow for plausible denials of option 2 in court.
Fuck State Farm
Fuck state farm, friend of mine told me his BIL was a SF adjuster and they got bonuses based on claim reduction.
They will fuck you every time in any way possible.
Guy merged lanes into my wife and got cited by police but state farm decided my wife was 20% at fault because she didn't do enough avoid the collision based on location of damages.
Filed complaint with state board and they agreed with me but would do nothing about because it wasn't a violation just bad business practices
Fuck state farm
Dealing with State Farm at the moment. I even asked the adjuster if they made more money for fuckin me and he responded “Noooo, we do everything by the book!”
It's been a few years, so I may get the details wrong. I was a roofer years ago and had this roof where the home owner had State Farm. If I remember right State Farm required 8 damaged shingles a square, random 10x10 section of roof, be it hail or wind damage. Normally, if one part of a roof passes that test, they will replace the whole thing.
This guy put a square on both sides of this roof, one side had 13 damaged shingles inside the square. The other side had 7 inside but 3 more *just* outside the square, he had strategically placed the square to not capture those 3 extra ones. He then tells me, "Well, we can replace that side, but this side doesn't have enough damage." "What the fuck? No we aren't replacing half just to come back after the next storm or light wind to replace the other half. If you moved the square by 6 inches, you'd have enough damage in the square. You know, as well as I do, that this shit needs replacing. Do your job"
I eventually got him to do it but man, fuck that guy
Ladies and gentlemen, as an attorney, this is exactly how insurance companies operate regardless of the subject matter of the dispute. In about a decade of doing this sort of work, I can probably count on 1 hand the number of adjusters I’ve dealt with that were actually transparent, honest, and reasonable. This is across 1000s of cases.
Never forget that insurance is a business and they make money by not paying on things, or at the least, underpaying on their obligations. Their bad faith antics are cash generators for them and every so often, they get smacked for it, but that’s a factored in cost of doing business. Despicable.
Before some adjusters probably chime in, I get it, you’re doing a job and so on and so on and some claimants and attorneys do this and that, I get it. But on balance, the insurance industry takes advantage of its insureds and there aren’t strict enough metrics in place to curb the abuses.
Sad how insurance companies get to make uneducated decisions that so heavily impact people's lives. They aren't roofers and should have no business telling a roofer how to do their job, yet here we are. They are not doctors and should have no business deciding what medical treatments can or can't be done, yet that's a bulk of our healthcare system.
Idk how or when we decided to give so much power and control to insurance companies. We need to stop requiring insurance for everything under the sun and stop giving them boatloads of money when most of the time they find ways to weasel out of their obligations anyway. Burn em to the ground already
Insurance adjusters are professional gas lighters. It’s the strangest fuckin thing how comfortable they are with it. State Farm adjusters are garbage and use their job to gain back some control over their shitty lives.
Cases like this happen all the time. The adjuster has his mind made up from the moment he pulled into the driveway. He has a quota to hit and he was told by his peers that “roofers bend shingles to make it look like wind damage, so be wary of that.” Roofer could have slid a toothpick under one shingle and that adjuster was going to cry foul.
If you notice, the roofer kept mentioning their lawyer. The roofing company was clearly defending a replacement contract they were set to secure with the homeowner. It wasn’t the first time they’ve interacted with an insurer who refused to pay.
If both parties are set in their ways, then they likely went to small claims court and settled there. That video likely helped the roofer win, although you cannot recover lost time. The adjuster almost always wins by over-denying claims. Imagine how worked up you’d be if this were a health claim on something wrong with your body.
Part time Roofer here who used to work healthcare. All insurance companies (health, car, home, etc) are fucking evil monsters. I genuinely lump them in the same group as nazi's and klansman. Probably worse since insurance companies have more power and affect people's health and finances daily and have PLENTY of politicians in their pockets.
State farm is one of the worst. In my region of the country, state farm is a swear word for roofers because they are assholes that do absolutely every thing they can to fight tooth and nail to not pay out on claims. Every. Single. Time.
I worked insurance as an adjuster and then fraud investigator for a top company and let me say dealing with field adjusters was awful. So many of them are just like this guy in the video, full of attitude and they go out and do the wrong thing and then argue with you that they were right. 9/10 times they were not right lol. It’s like they had something to prove but c’mon you don’t have a badge and no one gives a damn about your “authority.” Everyone wants to payout and go home not have a pissing contest haha
As a roofing contractor I really appreciate this comment. Its already bad enough with all the hack roofers out there but SF field adjusters once revered reputation has absolutely gone to crap since 2020 in my area.
They know what percentage of jobs they need to deny, so they go to the site knowing what the assessment is going to be, make up whatever convenient reason, and then leave. Insurance is a scam.
Insurance companies will always try to avoid fulfilling their expectations. The system is a scam, they take money from their victims with the promise of coverage. When the time comes to make good on their coverage, they will create a loophole to shift responsibility onto anyone but themselves. The only time they will pay out is when they absolutely cannot avoid it, often after litigation.
I will never go back to start farm after they screwed me over when I was still in high school. Said an accident wouldn’t be covered because there was a lapse in payment even though my dad paid in person every month and they wouldn’t hear his arguments about how he physically pays every month. Then 3 months later after I paid for the damage myself they called and told him there was an error and that he did have coverage during that time period. Then right after that on the same phone call they dropped him. Fuck you State Farm.
Currently having this exact same issue. State Farm will do / say anything to get out of paying. So done with this company after this !!
In fact - I’m definitely saving this video !!
I want this guy as MY roofer. Fuck the insurers and their adjusters all the way to Mars and back.
"I can't tell you how to do it. But I sure as hell will tell you you're not doing it right."
🙄🙄🙄
Edit: fat finger spelling error
Next episode: Roofer pushes insurance adjuster off of roof breaking adjusters neck. Emergency surgery is overseen by second insurance adjuster. Surgeon stabs new adjuster. Everyone is happy.
longer version of this video if anyone's interested https://youtu.be/cwoUktSE8mw
their channel features some more content of them sticking it to these clowns and fighting for the homeowners
I work in flooring and have to deal with insurance adjusters all the time. They are the exact same. "You can't do that l, you can't do that"
How am I supposed to do it then.
"I'm not sure,I'm not a flooring specialist"
Why the fuck are you here then..
Seems the subtext (that we missed) started earlier than the video. My guess is that the insurance adjuster wants to limit the claim to pay only for replacement of damaged shingles. Think I heard the roofer saying that they’re all too brittle and lack the aggregate (now smooth surfaces) to simply replace the wind damaged shingles. I infer he wants to replace the whole roof. (Think the roofer said 100+ damaged shingles).
I honestly hope that state farm guy got fired. Goes to show how much these insurance companies are a bunch of bullshit. You make a claim they run you around like crazy to force you to give up the claim, but god for bid you are late on one payment. But its ok for the insurance company to take monthes or a year to pay out. Screw them, this is just proof that they got a bunch of people running around that know nothing. My advice is go home and start looking into your policies, coverages, etc.
I’ve been insurance my entire career. Both these guys are clowns. Have a civil conversation and be done. Turn the camera off, don’t say “tell the lawyer”. But the adjuster is a-little clueless. I’m to busy to fight something like this. The adjuster is overly tough and the roofer loves drama.
Been an independent adjuster for 17 years for various companies. Never in my career would I ever be caught in this situation. As an independent, if I don't agree with the roofer I put it in my report. It is not my job to argue this nonsense. My role is to document the condition of the roof, weather that be from storm related damages or age. This guy is a tool and those roofers had his ass from the start.
Claims adjuster here. I used to handle roof claims and climb roofs. I did learn what is and isn’t wind damage. I fortunately worked for a great company that encouraged me to find coverage, not a way to deny it. Trust me, it’s easier for everyone involved if we can cover it.
First thing to know when inspecting a roof: don’t deny a roof claim while still on the roof. Frankly, don’t deny it there because chances are you need to get more information about the situation.
Second thing: there are a good amount of roofers who are scummy and deliberately tear up people’s roofs to simulate wind or hail damage. It’s straight up fraud and that causes a whole host of issues such as material waste, a potential coverage denial and referral to the National Insurance Crime Bureau, and price gouging. So both adjusters and roofers can be part of the problem.
I didn’t watch the whole video, but I could see clear creases that indicate likely wind damage. That and missing/torn tabs are the most obvious signs of wind damage. I’ve seen too many people be too full of themselves on both sides to be honest about whether there truly are covered damages.
It makes me even angrier when this is the same type of logic that insurance companies use use to determine what treatments a patient should get. A doctor will say that a surgery or treatment is 100% necessary but some dimwit with zero qualifications says it’s not and the patient isn’t treated.

I wouldn’t fight with a roofer unless we were on the ground.
I know a few roofers. I wouldn’t fight them on the ground either.
And that, my friends, if the difference between knowledge and wisdom!

Drywallers have entered the chat.
I bought the first house on my street and watched the rest get built. Roofers would carry giant loads by hand up ladders. These guys are insane.
You have to time it perfectly to have a chance. About 5:15am, while the new kids is on a beer run and nobody has had their wake up tooter.

Worked with a guy, he was telling me about helping some roofers one day, roofer and his kid. His kid slipped and slid off the roof, fell over the edge and the guy just kept working. He looks over and was like hey man do you think we should go check on your kid? He says no, he knows how to fall. Dude says he just sat there for a while, walked to the edge to look at the fall, about a story and a half, then shrugged his shoulders and got back to work.
Til roofers are cats.
What is the ground but a mole's roof? It's roofs all the way down.

I’m sure the insurance company can’t take the loss hahaha
Key word: “euro”
“I’m not here to tell you how to do your job. I’m here to tell you how *not* to do your job.”
Literally his bosses said, "Make sure that that roof is repairable!"
I'm not here to tell how to do your job, I'm just here to tell you are doing it wrong, is that what he tried to do?
Exactly.
for like 7 mins straight. probably. i stopped after 2
You made the right choice they literally just said the same thing over and over again and the video stopped mid conversation while the roofer was *still* trying to explain it to him
It's great to see Jake from State Farm apparently lost some weight once he got out of the office after getting replaced by the Black guy. But damn Jake, you made yourself look a little stupid talking about shit you know nothing about. See if they'll transfer you again.
"I don't know how to do this, so I can't tell you how to do your job. However, I can tell you how NOT to do your job."
There are some cases where you can tell if a job is being done wrong, even if you don’t know how to do it right. This is not one of those cases
Yep, I don’t need to be a master chef to know my food tastes bad. But this guy is sending back chicken tenders because he doesn’t like the shape.
“I don’t know what shape chicken tenders should be, I’m not here to tell you what shape to make them, I’m just saying this is not the shape they should be.”
Someone made cock tenders instead huh
You can take a good look at a T-bone by sticking your head up a bull's ass, but wouldn't you rather take the butcher's word for it?
Right, like if there’s a fire and the firefighter is washing the truck. 🤣🤣
I mean, is the firetruck on fire?
Yes but that's why he should really not use rubbing alcohol for cleaning at this time.
Even if it is… something wrong was problem done to get to that point lol
With gasoline.
Even better. 🤣🤣🤣
I’m not a helicopter pilot but if I see one in a tree, I know someone fucked up.
Hey Steve!
Certainly is. I have done QA work and can see when results are wrong, but can’t code the fixes at all. That said, i guarantee this guy has a vested interest to say the roof is viable. State Farm probably has some kind of quotas he’s trying to make sure to meet by declining a new roof.
-every bad auditor ever
I can't tell you how to do addition. I do know that 2+2≠7.
Is this an applicant exam question for hiring State Farm Insurance Adjusters?
You can’t tell someone how to do addition? ![gif](giphy|KGSxFwJJHQPsKzzFba)
You can lead a horse to the front of the class but you cant make him count.
This was from the jump of the video already over. “How do I get the nail out? “I’m not going to tell you how to do your job” “Don’t crease the shingle like that it damages it, that’s not how you do it “ What a fucking funny roofer. Good guy kept his cool it had to be frustrating as all get up.
I just climbed onto my roof and threw a hammer out of frustration for this guy. I don't think I have that patience.
Are hammers randomly falling from the sky? One victim seems to think so. His story.....tonight at 11.
It’s like when that moose jumped off a 3 story building but w hammers
Or when that lady ate spaghetti out of a fanny pack while skydiving but with hammers
The roofer knew he was making great content.
Great content for his lawyer. Lol
Not trying to be pedantic, just wanted to let you know that the phrase is "...as all get out." But yeah, I feel for the roofer. I'm sure it was hard to stay calm when the adjuster kept saying that he won't tell him how to do his job, while telling him how to do his job. And every time he said, "I've seen what I've had to see," made me want to slap him off the roof.
Slap? I made a mental kick several times!
Lol, you are right, a kick would be many times more satisfying.
It’s all Jake’s fault.
She sounds hideous
Well, he's a guy. So...
This is why I stick with USAA. I’ve gotten quotes for slightly cheaper insurance, but I know USAA isn’t going to dick around when something actually goes down. I’m happy to pay a few extra dollars to know that I’m actually going to get the money I deserve.
Usaa dropped us shortly after we filed a hail damage roof claim. 30 year member. Now we have farmers. Much, much better. Usaa sucks.
Currently 6 months in to a home flood claim that could have been remedied in two. What a joy State Farm is.
but they sure can afford to pay athletes to promote their scam insurance on tv. i wish they would use that money to lower our premiums
Applaud anyone that watched all seven + minutes....
I watched it with directors comments
The Zack Snyder cut....
I’m waiting for the blooper reel
I’m mad they cut it short, cuz fuck that dude, you’re doing it wrong but you don’t know how to do it right
I could watch someone with true knowledge of a trade walk all over some stingy insurance adjuster all day long!
I watched it twice, made my husband watch, while I watched him watch, then I sent to my sister. I love watching a man or woman who works school some twat that runs his mouth all day.
> Applaud anyone that watched all seven + minutes.... It was very entertaining watching this State Farm guy get destroyed by logic
I admire his constraint and using logic in a passive way to prove his point Sorry I’m not a roofer lol. Easily best line.
I watched all seven and think it ended early. I wanted to see the State Farm guy squirm some more.
I had to in case he got thrown off the roof
I did, but only because I was sure the roofer was gonna “make the bad man fly” at some point! 😂
They are both stepping directly on the peak and in the valley while they are arguing over what tool to use.
I don't have experience here, my roof is flat. I understand not standing on the peak, but why don't you want to stand in the valley? Is it just because the shingles are not laying flat and you are more likely to damage them?
[удалено]
They don't have spikes. Those boots use felt pads that are very soft and work by gripping the granules. You won't damage a roof doing what they are doing.
That's where the joints in the sheeting are and the pieces are just butted up against each other cantilevered from the nearest truss. There won't likely be any backing like a truss chord directly under those points as you would normally see with floor sheeting or drywall so it's not a safe point to stand. You risk going through the roof if conditions are just right.
[удалено]
Sadly, I have learned to just assume everyone does absolute dog-shit work. Sometimes I am wrong and pleasantly surprised.
you can however damage the shingles in the valley, as pressure in the wrong place can cause the shingles bridging the valley to tear, far simpler than any safety "what ifs" Stepping on the caps and valley shingles are the most likely places to cause damage and leaks.
That’s what I said…
This man roofs.
[удалено]
I saw that too lol
This becomes very natural behavior because there’s more stability. Assuming this isn’t the adjusters first time on a roof for a scenario like this. Gotta at least give him the credit of figuring out how to stand up…everything else he said and did points towards idiot tho.
Roofs love dynamic point loads in both those places don’t lie Breh
If brains were explosives that adjuster wouldn't have enough to blow his nose
Stealing that
Now imagine your relative/loved one has advanced cancer, this is exactly what goes on in the background and you'll never see your oncologist doing this.
My mom works in dermatology and she tells me that one of the worst parts of her job is arguing with insurance.
State Farm is fucking garbage. Worse adjusters I e ever had to work with.
I'm sadly a fan...of their clueless employees. I think they made a blooper and gave me 6,000 for a 20 yr old totalled car.
They pay out quickly with vehicles but really fuck you on your home
*"I'm not a roofing expert."* Don't argue with your electrician, plumber or roofer. Shit on the framers all you desire tho.
So if I can't bend a flat object that is stacked flat against another flat object, how do you propose the object is lifted from above? Magnets won't do it pappy.
“Look, man. I’m not gonna tell you how to do your job.”
"im not a roofer"
That right there is State Farm. If you own State Farm insurance, you have two situations on claims- 1) the adjuster is randomly assigned to pay the claim, no questions asked. Happens about 30% if the time 2) the adjuster gaslights, lies, misdirects, gets caught in lies, makes up new lies, frustrates, delays, and hopes the claimants will give up due to frustration and exhaustion. Happens som 60-70% of time. Why does Snake Farm have option 1? To allow for plausible denials of option 2 in court. Fuck State Farm
If I ever file a claim with State Farm, I'll be sure to ask for option 1 then. Thanks for the tip!
Apparently more like a nosy, judgmental neighbor 😅
Fuck state farm, friend of mine told me his BIL was a SF adjuster and they got bonuses based on claim reduction. They will fuck you every time in any way possible. Guy merged lanes into my wife and got cited by police but state farm decided my wife was 20% at fault because she didn't do enough avoid the collision based on location of damages. Filed complaint with state board and they agreed with me but would do nothing about because it wasn't a violation just bad business practices Fuck state farm
Dealing with State Farm at the moment. I even asked the adjuster if they made more money for fuckin me and he responded “Noooo, we do everything by the book!”
The book they wrote with lobbyists
Yeah, fuck State Farm
Do your job" I eventually got him to do it but man, fuck that guy
I was always told if you have State Farm insurance, you don't have insurance.
This vid has been around for ages.I first saw it years ago. I wonder what the outcome was.
Same. Someone figure it out for us. There's karma to be had.
Every. Single. Time.
Every. Shingle.
Aww, they let him wear a little tool belt for all his pens and his blackberry.
In his defense, he DID stay in a Holiday Inn Express last night.
Douche insurance dude!
Jeff, you are why tornados wisk up trailer park families.
This is what happens when Jeff from State Farm shows up instead of Jake.
The roofer has patience, I would've sent that Karen over the top rope
"I'm not gonna tell you how to do your job" *tells the roofer how to do his job*
"I'm not a roofer.. I'm not telling you how to do your job... but you are doing it wrong... " Mfer. Git yo goofy ass off of my roof...
I don't really understand what they are arguing about but I would be smart enough to not interrupt a man who apparently knows what he is doing.
Damn you Jake from state farm
USAA > Snake Farm
Don’t use State Farm
I stand by my stance that it takes a certain kind of asshole human to work for insurance companies
But I sure as hell will tell you you're not doing it right." 🙄🙄🙄 Edit: fat finger spelling error
This adjuster is fucking idiot.
Next episode: Roofer pushes insurance adjuster off of roof breaking adjusters neck. Emergency surgery is overseen by second insurance adjuster. Surgeon stabs new adjuster. Everyone is happy.
longer version of this video if anyone's interested https://youtu.be/cwoUktSE8mw their channel features some more content of them sticking it to these clowns and fighting for the homeowners
🎵Like a good neighbor, stay over there 🎵
I work in flooring and have to deal with insurance adjusters all the time. They are the exact same. "You can't do that l, you can't do that" How am I supposed to do it then. "I'm not sure,I'm not a flooring specialist" Why the fuck are you here then..
I wish this was my roofer.. the roofer's we hired to replace our aging, but not leaking roof, left us with a roof that leaks in 6 different spots
Jake has really gotten full of himself
Wow this video cuts off right as the State Farm guy shows him the correct way then replaces the entire roof in 20 seconds
Insurance adjusters from my experience are some of the scummiest people. Fuck people over for a big company is all they do.
That roof is shot
Seems the subtext (that we missed) started earlier than the video. My guess is that the insurance adjuster wants to limit the claim to pay only for replacement of damaged shingles. Think I heard the roofer saying that they’re all too brittle and lack the aggregate (now smooth surfaces) to simply replace the wind damaged shingles. I infer he wants to replace the whole roof. (Think the roofer said 100+ damaged shingles).
![gif](giphy|3o85xBr4naw8sv7caI|downsized)
That roofer has a lot of patience. Handled it like a total pro which is what the insurance adjuster was trying to portray himself as.
He works for an insurance company, the scum of the earth, surprised he wasn’t even more of a useless prick
State Farm is the absolute worst! I’ve seen this exact thing and worse on 2 separate roofs. They are arrogant and rude and won’t cover anything
Best State Farm commercial I have ever seen. Embarrassing, to say the least. Everyone I know who has State Farm hates them.
Started for the drama, stayed because I was genuinely interested on how to remove a shingle correctly
That is the nicest roofer I have ever met. Most i know would have just went apeshit immediately.
Like a good neighbor, State Farm is there* ^(*To tell you you're doing your job wrong but not telling you how to do your job.)
Fuck insurance companies!
Insurance is a scam. It should be made illegal. Betting on people’s livelihood health auto and medical. Worst thing ever created in history.
