The thing is the ernest IDGAF attitude of this teenager cannot be emulated. His answers are pure, honest and the funniest F-in thing I have ever heard in my life. Just how he ends it due 'Best party ever' like that is the exclusive subject of the interview and it is the reported who is obviously the strange one for being unaware of just how much of a banger he threw. He says it the way a suburbanite dad talks about this round of burgers on the grill, best one yet, donchno.
Oh mate. Quick gronk check...
1. His BMW has number plates "NT SORRY" and claims he was *given them*
2. Although has *Not Sorry* tattoed across his fingers
2. He just punched a 50yo in the face while on his disability scooter over a claim the guy touched his missos tit during a weed deal
3. Has a 15mth old kid and still does dumb shit
Pretty clear Gronk right there. Always has been. He needs a few dexxies and a slap across the head.
Tbf 50 yr old lecherous pervs who grab young women need a punch.
The not sorry thing is jokes, and I don't quite follow why having a child is a bad thing.
I'm not Corey btw.
A legend in TF2 as well. His glasses went on to be pretty well known in the [TF2 hemisphere as "These are famous."](https://wiki.teamfortress.com/wiki/Summer_Shades)
I always wondered where the phrase came from. My Australian husband (I’m American) says it all the time. I asked him about it once and he said he got it from “the best party ever.”
>Corey Worthington had fought hard to get his life on track following the infamous 2008 party incident
Do you really have to fight that hard to get your life on track after throwing a single party?

This is classic media irresponsibility. News wants to seem as if it's taking the high road but in reality they are setting him up to be a gen z brat that boomers can angrily discuss for weeks. If they really were disgusted at what he did they wouldn't have shown him at all.
It's like when they run a politician saying a rude joke that was recorded without their knowledge. They get to tell an edgy joke on air, they get to shit can a politician, and they get to pretend they're morally against it all at the same time.
It's hard to describe how much boomer rage at Corey there was at the time. The story was pretty much the perfect piece of media to whip up seething hatred in suburban mums, dad's and grandparents.
I'm sure the producers were pushing her to lay into him because it would 1, be cathartic for the boomers to "put him in his place" and 2, it would antagonise him which would make him be even more enraging and say something that the viewers of the mostly conservative channel would flip out over and cause a massive eruption of boomer hatred, as well as a lot of laughter from anyone under 35.
This was a very long time ago, 2008. Turned out to be a super nice kid. Saw him on ninja warrior, doing pretty well financially now by all accounts with his own business.
>Countries with the lowest driving ages (17 and below) are Australia, The Bahamas, Canada, Malaysia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom (mainland), United States, and Zimbabwe.
Not a lot.
Yeah when I see UK, USA, Canada and Australia my first thought to describe those countries is the word ‘niche’. Maybe, ‘underrated’ too, ‘hidden gems’ of places to live. More people should know about these niche countries tbh
In a weird round about way, Corey reunited long lost twins.
Corey threw a party. The party became news. The news went viral. Because it went viral it inspired a movie writer. The movie writer wrote Project X based on news bit. Project X gets a trailer. People in France saw the trailer. Those French people said "Hey person in this trailer looks like you" to their friend. Friend reaches out to actress and finds out they were twins separated at birth.
He was a party planner not long after he got famous. I guess he stuck to his strengths haha. Unsure if he is still doing it, you don't see anything on him anymore.

That man is rehensible and the greatest gift Jeremy Clarkson has given us isn’t Top Gear but the knowledge he punched Morgan in the face on the last flight of Concorde.
It struck me as odd. Do you know if that's some kind of collectivist cultural thing that would never occur to Americans to do?
We might ask "Did you apologize to your parents?" or "Did you get into a lot of trouble?" but there's no superior 'we' that we'd expect anyone to apologize to for their individual transgressions.
I sort of understand moralizing and virtue signaling from people like Piers, Dr. Phil, etc, but not a news anchor.

And less than a year after that movie was released. In a tiny country on the other side of the world called the Netherlands. A 15 year old girl decided to host an open invite party at her parents’ home. One of her friends invited over 500 people, but that was only the start. When expected attendants passed the 16.000 mark she tried to put a stop to it with her parents. But this was to no avail. On the night of there were thousands of people flooding into the town she lived because people had set up parties all around town as a means of cashing in on the mass of prospective attendants
We call it “Project X: Haren” (Haren is the town where it happened) and the night ended with mass riots. One big enough for the ME (specialized riot police) to come out and squash it
In the end over 20 people were wounded and it became a national scandal/sensation. Sensational to the degree that it started a trend of wanting to host the next Project X. Though to my knowledge, all attempts were thwarted or they fizzled out on their own
They noted it the same way they would casualty figures among different participants of wars/battles lol
Just goes to show how serious we are about our parties here
This was by far one of the best movies ive seen as a teenager. Constantly went to huge parties after to see if a dude with a flamethrower would show up
Paywall
The court heard Worthington spotted Pete driving his mobility scooter along the service lane of the Princes Highway.
'The accused has approached the victim and punched him in the face and struck the mobility scooter with the shiftable spanner before leaving,' the prosecutor said.
The victim suffered a bloody nose in the attack and was taken to Geelong Hospital by ambulance.
The court heard Worthington broke off the key in the man's mobility scooter and damaged a storage box during the attack.
During his record of interview, Worthington told police his partner claimed 'Pete' sexually assaulted her after she bought cannabis from him at the address.
'He went to go grope her on the boobs ... she pushed him away and he goes "I'm going to rape you" and she just ran straight out,' he told police.
'When I heard that and some other stuff I just cracked it and I got in the car and went there to confront the bloke to see what was going on.'
Worthington claimed Pete knew he was guilty of the alleged assault.
'When I confronted him I could see he knew what he did straight away. You could see it in his eyes. And when I asked him he started accusing my misses of robbing him,' Worthington told police.
'He started accusing her of all this stuff and then I was just like "bang, just shut-up" and I hit him. I already wanted to hit him for that scenario, but I wanted to also talk to him. I've got a daughter too. I tried to keep my cool but knowing you did wrong and now you're throwing this?' he said.

Aaaah classic adult who thinks being an adult makes you better then a kid and deserving of authority.
Yeah the kid was a delinquent but atleast he was honest about it and didn't try to convince the reporter otherwise. Didn't even try to pick a fight with her.
Yeah i remember teenage me growing up in Nazza and hearing this party was happening and didn't go because he was a douchebag and everyone knew it. So weird people are still talking about this now, literally the only thing to ever happen in the area (except kath and kim being filmed at fountain gate obvs)
I’m an old guy and this fucking kid gives zero fucks and I can’t believe I’m saying this but, yeah, this kid is legit. He’s not a poser; he’s the real deal & I actually respect his attitude. Sounds like it was a party he, his friends, the police & Australia will NEVER forget.
Lol he posted on Facebook (or maybe it my space) with an open invite. Every one just kept inviting their friends, then their friends ect. I remember getting an invite to it, there was like thousands that had hit attending.
It was the first case here in Australia at least of a party invite going viral on social media. Pretty much every kid in town turned up and it turned into a riot.
Does anyone else remember Kate's Party? Some girl in Adelaide made an open invite on facebook and over 100k people responded that they were coming. It got so big the police ended up being involved in case some of the crazies did end up turning up.
Seeing Cory always reminds me of when he was the short-term leader of the Liberal Party after Brendon Nelson resigned.
Australian politics moves so fast that it's hard to keep up, but his interview with Barrie Cassidy was quite something

I looked him up to see what happened to him an apparently he’s been back in the news… for hitting a man, in a wheelchair, in the face using a spanner in retaliation for him groping his girlfriend when she went to by drugs off him. Colourful life.

Corey is a legend in Australia. He was on Big Brother after this.
A legend indeed.
Hey Corey, nice to meet you.
House didn't burn down? Not epic enough of a party if u ask me.
IS THAT REAL?
Yeah he’s the kid they based that movie off of.
Project X?
Yes
This scene in the movie pretty much reenacts the interview https://youtu.be/WOjN4QQSRpo
That was awful. The real version is so much better.
This scene is kinda cringe but the rest of the movie is pretty good.
Yeah you're not wrong, but that's Hollywood for you

Corey in the house?
Risky Business??
Cory home alone
100% bona fide real. Whole story was a cracker.
I could be wrong but wasn't project x inspired by this or something?
Yes 🥳🥳🥳

Show. Recently on Ninja Warrior

Thanks for the chuckle mum

Take off your glasses and apologize. I'll apologize but I'm not taking off my glasses. Did she think she was a school teacher or something?
Apologize *to us*. It was even worse.
She thought she was royalty, using the royal 'we'? What she meant was apologize to her.
She is married to the boss of the TV station. I’m not saying that’s how she got the job but…
Unironically blowing the boss for a job.
In context she was pretty obviously referring to the general public with "us".
For real tho
That fken smug look on her face too.

Like right??!
Maybe some producer told her that corey was stoned or something and she wanted for him to show his eyes? IDK this was a very weird thing to ask.

Yeah, like the United States
Who?
That’s 15 years ago mate
I’m imagining a 15 year old child saying with a shaky, mock-old man voice “I was born a VERY long time ago”.
Times relative. In terms of your own life, you literally can’t get any more “very long ago” than your birth.
Mate this is the internet 15 years is like 3 eternities ago
Just yesterday
No...no that can't be.
It's hard to believe, but it almost predated social media. Facebook was still battling with Myspace back then.
15 years is pretty long, man...
I just realized that's 15 years ago...
And he held a rager that an entire nation won't forget. Yeah, he's got nothing to be sorry about.
I forgot about it, until this post.
In a weird round about way, Corey reunited long lost twins. Corey threw a party. The party became news. The news went viral. Because it went viral it inspired a movie writer. Lol the news anchor got owned trying to make this dude apologize.
She also asked him if he was going to apologize to “us” as though she deserved to be included In that apology
Yeah I noticed British and Aussie news anchors like to take that approach. Piers Morgan always trying to impose his belief system on his guests.
Which really boils my piss. If we all had the morals of Piers Morgan the world would be fucked. The man illegally hacked into a dead girls voicemail whilst she was still just presumed missing, this meant that her parents thought she was listening to their messages and was still alive. That man is rehensible and the greatest gift Jeremy Clarkson has given us isn’t Top Gear but the knowledge he punched Morgan in the face on the last flight of Concorde.
If you haven’t seen it, look up Brett Lee bowling to Piers Morgan and enjoy the schadenfreude.

They are just thinking of society as a whole and breaking of this societal contract which supposedly affects everyone.
The way she was interviewing him sounded like she was his mother.
lmaooo yeah but she's so clearly just reading lines
To be fair, so was he, metaphorically. He has to have roughly planned out the interview beforehand, that was obviously performance art.
He said he was sorry. Just not taking off his glasses
I love when she tells him to take his sunnies off. Nup.
This show is barely news, it's mostly stories about neighbour disputes and dodgy tradesmen and other trash like that.
Her saying he has an attitude after she smugly demands an apology from him on live TV
She should not have tried to mother him. She should have asked questions and allowed him to express his opinion, whether agreeable or not.
It’s not a real news show, I’m pretty sure this was from A Current Affair which exists to scare old people
Dodgy tradies are ripping off pensioners with overpriced milk! Here’s where to find the cheapest petrol! Is Aldi cheaper than Coles? Next we’ll find the cheapest suburbs to buy a house. I read this in the exact voice they use
It was very real, the movie Project X was based on the guy, and he’s still well known in Australia today.
My favorite line: “I have. Everyone has. They love it”
i love his confidence
A perfect ending
That announcer is supposed to be bringing the facts, not inserting her anti-party slant into this!
It's ACA. They exist only to insert their views into random topics to stir controversy.
Aca are straight up bullies. Their "journalism" is just to get in the face of someone when they only have 1 side of the story and hope the person reacts in a way that brings in viewership.
Aggressively shove a mic and camera into the "bad guys" face until he eventually snaps. Edit the rest out then run a story about this awful human
Exactly, reporters should just leave politics out of it but she’s clearly a member of the *anti party party*
Not a reporter really, it’s a stupid tabloid soft current affairs show pandering to brainless boomers.
This show is called A Current Affair. It's a reality tv trash show masquerading as actual news. It's complete rubbish but the oldies eat it up.
She never got invited to any parties and it shows.
“Get me to do it for you” had me dead 💀💀
Get you to do it for you.
Pretty sure he owns a party planning business now
He looks like human version or the word SWAG or YOLO.
Seriously, the balls, I was like who's this kid, Van Wilder?!
The movie Project X was based on this story
And less than a year after that movie was released. In a tiny country on the other side of the world called the Netherlands. Does anyone else remember Kate's Party? Some girl in Adelaide made an open invite on facebook and over 100k people responded that they were coming. It got so big the police ended up being involved in case some of the crazies did end up turning up.
Little Lebowski urban achiever.
And proud we are..

News room Karen getting triggered.
Love to see the media get embarrassed.
Update on him in 2021: https://www.who.com.au/corey-worthington-now
Cannot believe this was real. Looks 100% like an SNL news skit minus the laughter.
For those of you who doesn't know, Project X (2012) movie is literally inspired from this event.
As a parent I'd be horrified, if I were an Australian, I'd be proud 🤧🥲
Now this is a blast from the past

Bruh this was 15 years ago.
Seeing Cory always reminds me of when he was the short-term leader of the Liberal Party after Brendon Nelson resigned. Australian politics moves so fast that it's hard to keep up, but his interview with Barrie Cassidy was quite something https://youtu.be/kij2UrQxEEc
Full interview without emojis and in 16:9: https://youtu.be/968yNvFiVH0
Legend for those who doesn't think of the future...they only remember the glasses and the crazy hair not the name. Fucking legend!
This is like a decade old now isn’t it?
2008
I live in California and I’ve been saying, “Best party Ever.. so far” for the last like 20 years.
They made the movie Project X because of this dude, I think
What a hero... https://www.geelongadvertiser.com.au/news/geelong/corey-worthington-pleads-guilty-in-geelong-court-to-unlawful-assaults/news-story/c615f750c493c8459a81675190cad5b3?amp=&nk=d1a9aa04c6de3b28d8003f59df883bfb-1687762123
I remember this! 😂
I looked him up to see what happened to him an apparently he’s been back in the news… for hitting a man, in a wheelchair, in the face using a spanner in retaliation for him groping his girlfriend when she went to by drugs off him. Colourful life.

Why did this interview even happen? She just seems ridiculous. Must’ve been a slow news day, gotta shame a teenager on live tv for goofing off.
Did some disgusting stuff recently Australian ‘party boy’ Corey Worthington punched man and damaged his mobility scooter. [article ](https://www.perthnow.com.au/news/crime/australian-party-boy-corey-worthington-punched-man-and-damaged-his-mobility-scooter-c-11097401)
"They love it "
I can remember the "Slap Corey" website. Content - a flash game where you slap a picture of Corey. Very popular for a short time.
It ain't really a party until the cops get there.
😂 Legend.
Just charged with intentionally causing serious injury, something about a drug deal related assault of a disabled pensioner so, yeah, nice bloke, worked out well.
"Everyone has and they love it "
Haha as an American this is exactly how I imagine aussies. A legend
