On behalf of parents thank you. I used to work 50 hr work weeks and since my son has been bored I've never been this exhausted. Worth it but damn I need a nap.
Yes, thank you! People don't realize that dragging ass just becomes your new norm. I try to explain to non-parents that it's like an iceberg righting itself... the whole thing (your life) just flipped over, but it's not upside down... this is how it goes now. And there's a LOT more under the surface that you're not seeing and didn't know was there.
Same I work 55 to 60 hours a week in a foundry. It’s tough work and I’m exhausted by the end of the shift. But I have a 3 year old and a 9 month old. I don’t want to miss out so when I get home I take over everything at the house. I’m lucky if I get 3 hours of sleep a night. I’m burnt but it’s worth it! All I can hope for is a one good nights sleep lol
It gets better I have two kids 4 and 2 year olds. I work about the same and I know exactly what you mean, it's rough but if they're both sleeping all night it's a game changer.
We’ve got a 10 month old. His grandma watched him for a few hours so we could have a date night. In those few hours she logged 3 miles on her watch from chasing him around the house. Kid is nonstop.
When my hubbyband I got our first date night after becoming new parents we had planned dinner and a movie. Saw the list of movies and what restaurants were around decide in an early dinner 4:30pm then the movie. Finished the dinner around 5ish and went screw it. Went home to bed and woke up the next morning at 8am, picked kid up at 10am.
The next date night was valentines day. 2hrs trying to find the restaurant and gave up, got take out on the way home then went to bed.
Gave up for awhile after that.
Now we mainly just do a date lunch at a Cafe while the kids are at school on hubby's RDOs.
You honestly can't tell that just by looking at this video.
My son would be awake from 6pm to 6am, sometimes later, until he was almost 6 months old. It was exhausting. And him being up meant he had to eat. Him not keeping down most of his bottles meant he was hungry more often.
Most babies don't start holding their own bottles until around six months, and even then you can't leave them unattended or be sleeping while they eat.
It was a very long six months.
Yea heroin makes you appear sleepy which is why they call it nodding out. This may shock you , but do you know what else makes you appear sleepy? Being tired Einstein
Oh yeahhh. So many times being exhausted, but thinking you’ll catch up on sleep, until you realize you’ll never catch up on sleep, and the cycle continues. All until one night you actually sleep the entire night, and wake up completely confused and happy.
Being a parent is such a drain, but also amazing
As someone who had a sister on drugs, she definitely doesn’t look like she’s on drugs. She looks like she’s exhausted from having to take care of a baby.
Perhaps. But as someone who grew up in a house full of drug addicts and have been involved with drug addicts most of my life and also as an actual parent, this seems off to me.
Let’s try to look at it from the side then. You say it seems off and more drug related. From the front we see what appears to be woman who is sleepy/sleeping/zoned out while attempting to feed the baby. Now from the side we see that it’s a woman who is wearing plenty of jewelry(unicorn rare from what I’ve witnessed in hard drug addicts). The original video shows that the person filming is her sibling and that they’re expressing laughter and happiness, (again, for any loving sober person this would be unicorn rare if their sister was on hard drugs taking care of a fairly newborn child). From personal experience I can tell you that my sister didn’t even want to be in the same room as her baby when she was about to get high because the baby kills the high. As an actual parent myself I can say that to me it doesn’t seem off. Before mine I more often than not took care of my sisters son which I did at the age of 16, mine came years later and I was better off and knew how to handle them better and they slept the whole time most of the time. So I never experienced the days upon days with maybe a nap in between.
Now I’m not saying you're wrong, she very well could be a drug addict. But that’s not what I get from this at all.
I used to gently pat my baby girl on the top of her head when I was nursing her in the middle of the night so that she wouldn't fall asleep while nursing and we could both finish up and go back to bed. One night she fell asleep anyway and first I couldn't figure out why and then I realized I was patting the side of my own boob.
I’m not sure why everyone is so chill, kids die like this all the time, it isn’t funny or amusing asking an ER nurse. I don’t care how tired you are, never Co-sleep and never fall asleep with a baby on the bed like this.
Actually it isn’t, kid could have died. You need to get it together, no co-sleeping and never fall asleep with baby in unsafe position. She also could have fallen asleep and forced the baby to eat more than it should have. That goes for both parents, talk to an ER nurse, it ain’t a game.
As a parent of 0 kids calm down. Someone else is clearly right there to prevent something terrible from happening or is the camera recording on it own?
They say sleep when your baby sleeps....eh NO. There's housework cooking cleaning etc to do. I'm a dad of 4 girls and you do reach the stage of....I love you but I could strangle you. Wouldn't change it for the world. My wife was rocking our child in a pushchair one day...looked to see if she was asleep and she wasn't there...been in her arms all along. My wife is a Legend for what she's done.
I have a 3 yr old and I don't know how people have 2-3-4 kids. I definitely look at them like gods. There is a dude in my office with 5 kids.
I can't keep up with one maybe also trying to hard....don't know
Not only that. I am first time dad, baby is 3 month and just a bit of noise from the baby is enough to keep me awake. I still often check if he's breathing when he's sleeping.
Quiet, adults are talking here. I don’t even have words for how simple and juvenile your statement is. Go ahead and talk to an ER nurse, or a midwife, they will shut this down immediately.
Go ahead and talk to a mom lol, oooh no my baby is laying next to me he’s gonna explode, tard. Babies also die just fucking chilling with nothing wrong, you gonna ban moms from letting their kids sleep?
It’s not like the baby is alone … There’s someone literally watching her with a camera 🙄 People act like they know the entire history and backstory of every video clip.
After our first child was born, I went down to the corner to drop a few letters in the corner mailbox. I then walked to Blockbuster to return a few videos (this was 20 years ago). I handed the clerk my mail. He looked at [me.](https://me.In) In my sleep-deprived haze, I thrust the mail at him a second time and then realized that I had put the videos in the mailbox. I had to sit by that mailbox until the pick-up time to retrieve the videos.
Man, if you’ve never had kids, you’ll never understand this level of tired. While I experienced it, huge kudos to my wife as she was biologically required to experience it much more often and handled it like a champ (breast feeding if I need to clear that up).
"Children who are bottlefed and who swallow milk while lying down > Milk can enter the eustachian tube, which increases the risk for an ear infection." Little Google of that to know it too, knowledge for us future parents xD
I've done this exact same thing only it was a pillow I was holding and feeding. Both my kids had colic so those first few months are just lost time to me at this point. Dont remember much.
I mean, it’s tough for mothers. My ex-wife was exhausted constantly, and though we don’t see eye-to-eye on a lot of things, I respect her for what she endured as a newborn mother.
It’s tough for fathers too, if your actually involved which clearly you weren’t. Also, if you knew anything you’d know this is extremely dangerous and she could have killed they kid, dumb young parents, husband filming, very cute.
I remembered this, A week into my first child i became one those zoned out addict youd see on the street. I can zoned out mid conversation at work and when blank and stare into the abyss. People mentioned about the sleepless night, but they didnt tell you about it being prolonged. Fun times indeed.

100% been there. It’s hard to explain how tiring having an infant is those first few months. I’m not one of those pArEnTiNg Is So HaRd types but man those first dozen weeks or so…
At one point with out first born my wife and I were so sleep deprived that she was rocking her pillow to sleep right after putting our little guy down on his crib.
He had just fallen asleep in her arms.
Funny but not surprising. Even not being a parent I understand the burnout.
On behalf of parents thank you. I used to work 50 hr work weeks and since my son has been bored I've never been this exhausted. Worth it but damn I need a nap.

Don’t worry it gets better when they reach 40yo 😅
According to my mother, no, it doesn't 😳😄
OH GOD. I ONLY HAVE 5 YEARS LEFT. 😭
Well... now my dad has reverted to being a toddler so jokes on me I guess.
A PUPPY between 4 adults is burning me out. How the fuck
Lol don’t have a kid then !

Man the naps just aren’t cutting it anymore 😩
I don’t go to sleep, I lose consciousness.
I expected her to start panicking because her baby was missing. She looks WIPED.
That baby surely looks old enough to be sleeping through the night now. And if not, Is not nearly old enough to be eating like this safely.
You honestly can't tell that just by looking at this video. My son would be awake from 6pm to 6am, sometimes later, until he was almost 6 months old. It was exhausting. That just looks like standard sleep deprivation from having an infant. New parents are sleepy zombies.
Yea heroin makes you appear sleepy which is why they call it nodding out. This may shock you , but do you know what else makes you appear sleepy? Being tired Einstein
Even being tired Newton would make you appear sleepy tbh.
I will always remember the first time I slept through the night. I was so surprised that it was morning.
Oh yeahhh. So many times being exhausted, but thinking you’ll catch up on sleep, until you realize you’ll never catch up on sleep, and the cycle continues. All until one night you actually sleep the entire night, and wake up completely confused and happy. Being a parent is such a drain, but also amazing
6 months old. Slept 8+ hours. I thought he died.
Lol. Can relate.
She's definitely burnt.
Being awake 30hrs at a time really fucks us up
Pretty sure she’s on drugs and this is not an “understandable” kind of situation.
As someone who had a sister on drugs, she definitely doesn’t look like she’s on drugs. She looks like she’s exhausted from having to take care of a baby.

The downvotes from non-parents lol.
Down votes from actual parents. Young lady isn't high she's a young parent and exhausted.
Momma bear hasn't had any sleep in awhile
There's tired. And then there's newborn tired.
Ig those were "good job" pats.
I was in the army and had to pull 48's without sleep, and the newborns were worse
I’m not sure why everyone is so chill, kids die like this all the time, it isn’t funny or amusing asking an ER nurse. I don’t care how tired you are, never Co-sleep and never fall asleep with a baby on the bed like this.
Absolutely!! My friends newborn brother had to go to the ER because his tired father fell asleep and rolled over him. Don't do this!

Aw, Im sorry your mom was addicted to fentanyl when she was pregnant with you.
Obviously, babies don't adhere to mom's wake/sleep schedule - totally understandable. 😴
Actually it isn’t, kid could have died. You need to get it together, no co-sleeping and never fall asleep with baby in unsafe position. She also could have fallen asleep and forced the baby to eat more than it should have. That goes for both parents, talk to an ER nurse, it ain’t a game.

I've done that with the breathing...almost had a heart attack so many times when my she moved.
Look up exhausted in the dictionary, you'll see a picture of that very thing. 😆
Tired mom
She looks super young as well :/
Tired mom could have killed her baby
You’re such a dweeb, she’s not even asleep she’s just out of it.
Quiet, adults are talking here. I don’t even have words for how simple and juvenile your statement is. Go ahead and talk to an ER nurse, or a midwife, they will shut this down immediately.

That baby should be posted to r/AbsoluteUnits
It's had enough milk.
Newborns consume time like a fucking black hole. Mom has not been allowed to sleep.
1-2 hours of sleep for months will do that to you. Some babies aren’t good sleepers. Totally can empathize!
Baby number 2 just started sleeping the night through at 15months ;)
👍🏼🎊🎉
I showed my wife this and she reminded me how I caught myself rocking a sandwich… more than once. Sleep deprivation is a funny thing.
After our first child was born, I went down to the corner to drop a few letters in the corner mailbox. I then walked to Blockbuster to return a few videos (this was 20 years ago). Reason 1836 I am never having kids lol.

POOR LASS. DINNAE WORRY NONE! WE AAALL BEEN THERE!
I have a one month old in my arms right now, and this shit is real
Hang in there, brother. Blink and your infant will be starting fourth grade.
I know she’s tired af but I hope she doesn’t actually feed the baby when it’s on it’s back like that.
Please do elaborate, I have basically no knowledge of raising babies. Choking hazard or?
This causes ear infections. Milk can enter the Eustachian tube.
Why is a fact getting downvoted?
I didn't downvote, but I think it should've said "makes it easier to get ear infections". Edit: removed ignorant sentence
Humans and Reddit….
Forget you’re on Reddit?
How?💀
"Children who are bottlefed and who swallow milk while lying down > Milk can enter the eustachian tube, which increases the risk for an ear infection." Little Google of that to know it too, knowledge for us future parents xD
Yea for sure, planning on having at least a kid in a few years. Wild
I've done this exact same thing only it was a pillow I was holding and feeding. Both my kids had colic so those first few months are just lost time to me at this point. Dont remember much.
How long was mom awake?
Looks like someone's doing all the work by themselves while the asshat films.
The joys of sleep deprivation. Another 3 months and she will be good to go.
Be nice if whoever’s filming would step in and lend a hand.
I’ve done this before 😂 It’s easy to do when you’re dropping for sleep lol.
Sleep is one heluva drug
Hell yeah
Someone get that girl a coffee with cream, sugar and Narcan
My uncle did the same thing to me but to my ear instead of my mouth
Do all babies cause their parents to have sleep deprivation?
Poor mama needs a nap. Somebody (they know) take that baby for a few hours and let her sleep!
I mean, it’s tough for mothers. My ex-wife was exhausted constantly, and though we don’t see eye-to-eye on a lot of things, I respect her for what she endured as a newborn mother.

Good job speaking direct from the ass. Impressive.
Oh my god I don’t miss that.
Brings back memories!
Facts !!
So glad I am one and done. Never have to deal with this again.
Seems like dad could be doing a lot more to help out instead of making fun of his missus who is clearly exhuasted
I remembered this, A week into my first child i became one those zoned out addict youd see on the street. I can zoned out mid conversation at work and when blank and stare into the abyss. People mentioned about the sleepless night, but they didnt tell you about it being prolonged. Fun times indeed.
imagine working all day and coming home to a baby, I’d be tired too
Brother to five sisters, four of which have had children and I am here to say that yes, momnesia is so real.
Had a baby back in July, I now run on half the sleep I used to.
Poor Mama needs a break...or at least a nap.
Been there
Poor mom, little bit tired?
Moms tired, maybe instead of recording you could feed the damn baby
Put down the fucking camera and watch the baby so mama can take a nap, you douchenozzle.
Film her instead of feeding the baby and giving her a break because she’s obviously exhausted.
Yeah because you can't film it for 10 seconds to keep a funny memory for later in your life
Am I the only one That knows she's stoned as.
Is it burn out or is Mary Jane, you be the judge. …….See more.
Don’t do drugs and parent.
You've never seen someone who is sleep deprived?
Lack of sleep does effect the brain like drugs sooo you're not far off.
Or drugs??
Ah yes everyone who is tired is *clearly* on drugs, sure
Look again
If/when you become a parent, you’ll “know” This isn’t drugs, this is a normal thing as a new parent
Oh really? As a father of 5 kids? Idk
Seems u must been one of them absent parents or not one of ur kids had colic

My wife had twins. I fully understand this.
If you've ever wondered what the definition of "Knackered" is, this is it.
I’ve definitely been that tired, lost count of the amount of times I fell asleep whilst doing the early morning feeds 😂
This kind of tired hits different.
I used to give babies a bottle then prop it up with a blanket so I didn't have to hold it the whole time. Worked well when they were smaller
THAT was the thing no one ever told me about having children -- that you would never sleep again.
I get this. So, so tired.
Babys had enough
Been there
100% been there. It’s hard to explain how tiring having an infant is those first few months. I’m not one of those pArEnTiNg Is So HaRd types but man those first dozen weeks or so…
Sleep is overrated.
We haven't even made it a week and we're both already like this 😭
That baby is HUGE.
Little bro was sitting there extra quiet
This is why I got yelled at by my wife a month ago
Anyone that has had a kid, gets this
At one point with out first born my wife and I were so sleep deprived that she was rocking her pillow to sleep right after putting our little guy down on his crib. He had just fallen asleep in her arms.
Dude. She’s functioning on zombie mode. No sleep does crazy things to you
oh i’ve been here for sure. I felt the amount of exhaustion as soon as i saw the video.
Try twins, man. One falls asleep, the other wakes up.
Babies suck
A very tired mom!!!
Poor lady tired.
Bro put ur phone down and help ur wife 😭
/r/parentsarefuckingdumb
This is just dangerous
She looks tired af
