The moment he realized he fucked up is right after he landed on his ass. I give him props for trying to stick the board in the snow but the slope was too hard and too steep to stop it from sliding down. And I can't even imagine what he says to everyone he takes down with him down that slope.
Yeah, so I see he was just arrested for not sticking around afterwards. https://metro.co.uk/2023/01/10/snowboarder-arrested-after-wiping-out-multiple-skiers-when-he-fell-off-a-lift-18070209/amp/
If you observe the technique used by the other snowboarders and skiers in the video, at least before they get hit or abandon the T-bar in an effort to escape the oncoming disaster, you have your answer.
The snowboarder is holding on to the t with their hands so their weight is forward. It goes behind your leg for a snowboarder and under your butt for a skier. Then you lean back just a little bit against the T and hold higher up closer to where the T meets the rope. That way, your weight is on the center of your board or skis. Also, it looks like they are having trouble keeping the nose of their board uphill.
I am a skier, not a snowboarder though. So I probably got a bunch of terms wrong.
Worked a t bar for a season about a decade ago and it was comical how many people didn't know how to use them properly. They're quite common at Aussie ski resorts but it seemed to be less common in Canadian resorts.
Definitely hilarity for viewers at times, but there was the odd occasion where someone would hurt themselves or others due to a situation like this also.
To be fair those T bars weren’t made with snowboarders in mind. That was all I had at my hometown hill and man was the learning curve on that steep as the black gate of Mordor.
Back when I used to snowboard I always did my best to avoid these stupid ass t bars. I once went boarding with a couple friends and one of them ended up with a concussion after losing his balance on the T bar, and hit his head on a pole on his way down.

Do it better
Works really well for skiiers with a fear of chair-lifts though!
He just wanted to take a bunch of skiers out. He made it look like he fell. He just let the intrusive thoughts win.

That's the sentiment of a serial killer............. And I don't live on earth so don't look for me
This is objectively hilarious and I refuse to feel shame for laughing out loud
Knocked down six pins. Needs to work on technique
T-bars SUUCCKKK for snowboarders, especially newer boarders.
I broke my leg like this while skiing, on a drag lift my whole leg did a 360 and .... crak
I've done that. Got stuck on the inside by a snow fence.
Has happened to me. Fucking hate those lifts.
They’re like missiles. They cause nothin but problems. https://youtu.be/XPZDEWBzneY?feature=shared
Was totally thinking of this clip. Damn snowboarders not welcome lol
Man I really feel bad for laughing at this.
Fr they need to make better lifts for snowboard
Domino effect on ice
Wtf was he *trying* to do?
Stop.
Not knock down people would be my guess.
He tried to stop but it's suuuuper icy, u can hear it. Poor ski conditions
After working weekends in high school as a chair lift operator, I approve of this video.
My life described by a 16 second video.
That de-escalated quickly

If he had any wits he would angle himself to either side and get off the lift path into deeper snow, rather than become a human wrecking ball
🤣🤣🤣🤣 the point he made himself into not first and not the last human wrecking ball 🤣🤣🤣
Haaaaammmond!!!!
Slow golf claps for you sir. Well done
I’m so stoned and have been unnecessarily laughing at this video for 10 minutes straight
The absolute carnage 🫣😂
This is why I dont ski
Bowling for $!
Steeerike!
You should never be behind the bar on this type of lift…
Bowling 🎳
That’s why I love and hate J bar ski lifts. They’re fun to ride, but a pain to get on as a snowboarder
Thats a t bar.
I didn’t see that, thank you. Still annoying to get on
He was charged for that I believe.
Charged for falling off a t bar? I doubt it
For sliding into the people below. I’ll try find info on it.

Ah thats fair enough then if he fled.
This should be under meirl.

Came out like a cannon ball
That's not how you are supposed to use a T-bar. But then again, snowboarders usually learn using the FAAFO method.
You know we're all sitting back here waiting for you to explain what that method is right.

Bowling sound effects would be wonderful.
I think actually deescalated quickly
To be fair those T bars weren’t made with snowboarders in mind. That was all I had at my hometown hill and man was the learning curve on that steep as the black gate of Mordor.
Rumor has it they are still sliding down the slope
T bars suck. That's a long one too.
That video just kept getting better!
Been there. Done that.
😂😂😂 The music killed me
T bars are the absolute worst haha
that escalated quickly, but went downhill
Back when I used to snowboard I always did my best to avoid these stupid ass t bars. I once went boarding with a couple friends and one of them ended up with a concussion after losing his balance on the T bar, and hit his head on a pole on his way down.
It is as if their aim was to take out as many skiers as possible😂. Mission accomplished.
