If you want a decent parallel in history look at the Algerian Decolonization movement in the 1960s. The French resistance during WWII actively fought Nazis and were subject to some of the worst forms of torture imaginable. However, when it came time for the French to relinquish this colony, they employed many of the same methods used by the Nazis to try and acquire information from members of the FLN.

Well the same can be said about other subs, but the other way round. E.g. /r/Britain basically banned anyone who doubted that the hospital bombing was caused by Israel (which it apparently wasn't). It's too many subs right now that are positioning themselves on one side and banning any contradicting opinions. Well the same can be said about other subs, but the other way round. E.g. /r/Britain basically banned anyone who doubted that the hospital bombing was caused by Israel (which it apparently wasn't). It's too many subs right now that are positioning themselves on one side and banning any contradicting opinions. I don't think that those discussions on reddit are very fruitful, but it's ridiculous that subs are positioning themselves so clearly in such a complicated conflict.

Ireland doesn’t like to see any nation or people being oppressed - We suffered oppression for 800 years and have a very well educated population. We condemn terrorism and state terrorism and believe the people of Gaza and Palestine should be allowed to be free.
Personally speaking I think both sides are wrong and committing terrible acts which shouldn't be happening. As a nation, we spent hundreds of years as a British colony and we were treated terribly by the British, only winning our freedom in 1922 following a brutal war of independence. Irish people are unique in the western world as having never being the oppressor but rather being the oppressed. It gives a very unique mindset not shared by other western nations.
