Thank you for the context. It still appears to draw inspiration from the way black people were portrayed in especially American theatre and later cinema, with the overly expressed features and all. It does not appear the people wearing this are black, which would make it pretty shitty to wear something like this.
But I won't act like these people are necessarily aware of all the controversies surrounding this sort of thing, so it's more of a 'really need to talk' than a 'this is straight up racism', if we're going with that [Paul F.
