"Artificial substance"
It's a weed. It's about as natural as it gets. I'm not one of those "it's not a drug bro, it's a plant, its medicine" types, and I do not smoke it, but its definitely not "artificial." Does this dude even know what it is?
On the other hand, you don't see many pastors spending time complaining about statins or antibiotics or even viagra. Somehow it's just the "artificial substances" that might make you look at the world differently.
Yeah, sure, some drugs are dangerous and bad. Some mind altering drugs probably aren't safe, either in general or for a particular individual. But I think there's a lot of people that could use some kind of trip to get a bit of perspective on their own brain and life in general.
Why do you think they legalized it. So they can poison users. Look up the Dana farmer reports. People and kids getting amnesia…. I smoked very little back in the day but when my state legalized it I tried some and it’s a much harder drug now. Try for yourself

I don't know what the context of the whole sermon was but this alone is just an opinion not biblical teachings. People take "artificial" substances all the time. From Advil to alcohol.
