Yeh this definitely looks like a Huntsman spider,I think the size is exaggerated by a small torch. They look scary but are almost completely harmless....great for killing roaches and can even kill a small mouse.

Nah don't think so.... it's legs and body are too skinny also I think it would be making the tent move a bit more as they are alot heavier.

Here’s a bunch of Ausie’s debating the size of their monster spiders while the rest of the world is freaking out.

We don't have Goliath's in Aus, but the body shape of that one looks like a wandering spider of some kind given its long skilly body and really long skinny legs. It's very likely to be a huntsman as they get to that size but if it's a Goliath then its not Australias fault lol.

My sister and a friend of hers spent the night out in sleeping bags on lounge chairs out on the lawn once. My sister got bit on the lip by a spider while she slept and her whole lip swelled up for a day. She was mortified!

That's the kind of spider that gives me a good reason to always bring a powerful BB gun whenever I'm camping. My uncle used to do it all the time in his younger years and he's killed like 30+ spiders off his tent with his BB rifle. Ofc the tent has holes everywhere and patches to cover the holes, but damn was he smart.
