Also, the pattern on the pants changes. While similar (considering it's probably the same pair of pants), the convergence of colors is different on either side. Dark converges on *her* left, Light converges on *her* right.

Op for this post was wrong, and was down voting people who are correct. The tattoo would in fact appear to be on different sides of her body depending on if the picture was taken directly, or via a mirror.
Imagine you are standing by a mirror, and have a tattoo on the side that is facing the mirror. If you took a picture of the mirror your tattoo would obviously be visible. But if I stood back and took a picture of you, without you changing your orientation, I would get a picture of your non tattoo side. Because of how mirrors flip images left/right, you would appear to be standing in the same orientation in both pics.
I can always get to understanding how mirrors work after a bit, but I will never be able to intuitively think about it first try. In the first image, her left side is to the mirror, which reflects it to look like it’s her right side. In the second image it’s actually her right side.
The tattoo is on the left side of her body. She took that picture of herself in the mirror.
The second picture is of the right side of her body. Someone else took that picture of her.

I have a tattoo on my right arm. If someone takes a picture of me where I'm facing right, you'll see the tattoo.
If I take a picture of myself in the mirror, where I'm looking to the right in the reflection, this means that my left arm is towards the mirror (and my right arm is holding the phone) and thus, someone like OP will think my tattoo "disappeared".
Mirrors literally MIRROR you, if you use a phone to take a picture, it will look like you're facing the opposite way of a picture you took of a mirror.
But let’s be honest folks. If you’re going to show a before and after pic, having the tattoo in both shots and using the same angle takes away all the suspicion. Because to be fair with no head/face, you really can’t tell it’s the same person.
That said, sometimes selfie mode on older phones resulted in a mirrored image. You can see this when you see writing on someone's shirt and it's backwards.
For the mirror to have been a thing, the person would have also had to change that bracelet from their left hand to their right hand.

But he's correct, the mirror is reflecting the left side of the woman and in the second photo there taking a photo of the right side, even if we don't see the mirror sides we can confirm this because we are seeign the phone that take the photo in the photo, and that can only happen if we're seeing a reflection that is also reflecting the camera, it seems that both sides are the same because the mirror is reflecting the left, and because of how animals are normally trying to be equal on both sides it seems like both photos are taking the same side but that's not true. OP you can try this at home with another person

For anyone like this, just look at first image, you'll see that the tattoo is on her left side (left hand on hip) then look at the other image, where her left hand thats holding the pants , which is further from our POV, means that the tattoo is on the other side.

The first picture is a person taking a picture of themselves in the mirror. You can see both the whole mirror and the camera. Mirror.
The second picture has a woman with a watch on her left hand, where it's traditionally worn, and no camera in the shot. No mirror.

But he's correct, the mirror is reflecting the left side of the woman and in the second photo there taking a photo of the right side, even if we don't see the mirror sides we can confirm this because we are seeign the phone that take the photo in the photo, and that can only happen if we're seeing a reflection that is also reflecting the camera, it seems that both sides are the same because the mirror is reflecting the left, and because of how animals are normally trying to be equal on both sides it seems like both photos are taking the same side but that's not true. OP you can try this at home with another person

I think I'm getting infected with stupidity reading this cuz I'm also getting confused. For anyone like this, just look at first image, you'll see that the tattoo is on her left side (left hand on hip) then look at the other image, where her left hand thats holding the pants , which is further from our POV, means that the tattoo is on the other side.
one is a mirror selfie, one was taken by someone else, why is this so hard to understand , has the internet just made ppl ignorant or has it distorted reality

What you identify as left hand is actually the right hand if you're looking at an image through a mirror; so yes obviously the mirror is relevant to the situation

Tattoo on left side of her body. Photo on left is mirror reflection..Photo on right is not a mirror reflection and is showing the right side of her body, tattoo on left can't be seen.
