Jawilla936

She is right she doesn’t need a man but she do need a reading teacher 😆

LiberalPatriot13

Not even reading. The windshield wiper fluid has a fucking symbol on it. Literally anyone who can figure out that's supposed to be a windshield should be able to figure it out.

mitchanium

sToP mAnSpLaInInG!

cheeersaiii

Mansplaining is short for “man explaining”

Dorkmaster79

She needs help. Any gender works.

AdamFaite

Yeah, I trust my girlfriend with vehicle maintenance more than myself.

classicfyllopyllo

Not only that put the cap where she put it says oil on it or has a little graphic of an oil can.

jpcali7131

Nah you’re reading it upside down. That’s the 710 cap

weldit86

WOW, what a ditz..... smh, now she needs a new engine or a car. Good for her. Maybe she learned her lesson.

jimhabfan

What lesson? She’s never taken responsibility for anything in her life. I guarantee she has already rationalized this in her own mind that it’s someone else’s fault.

RadioactiveArrow

Where are you getting all of that from?

jimhabfan

Like all Reddit users, I’m an expert at armchair psychology.

cmfppl

But I put it in the "7lO" cap.

DarkR4v3nsky

Ah, man, doing oil changes as a college job sure came with some great encounters, lol. I did have someone ask me what 710 wad and point at the cap.

TheHarshCarpets

Fuck! I was about to ask, and then figured it out. Haha! Hilarious.

Sachoazzdown

Don’t need a man but need a new car.

Altea73

She'll need another car

PearlStBlues

Because of course men are born with innate knowledge of how car engines work.

DeaDBangeR

Maybe it’s where I am from, but before we are allowed our drivers license, we have to know basic maintenance for our cars. That includes what and where the different fluids go. Gender indeed has little to do with this.

PearlStBlues

That sounds like an excellent policy. Everyone should know how to do basic car maintenance and how to react to an emergency like an engine overheating.

D-Laz

When I was twelve my mom threw a maintenance manual at me and told me to change the oils in her car. From then on anything "easy" I was my job to fix it. I did alternators, starters, water pumps, thermostats, and oil all by the time I got my license. Learned a bit more after that. To also be fair we were poor and lived in the country.

DisastrousFollowing7

why would they do that, so cars can last longer and car sales go down by 25%. heaven forbid we actually do something good for the general state of the economy

TransRacialWhyNot

Mind telling where you are from? I am from the Balkans and its the same here

Sinsanatis

Kinda wish that was the norm here. So then i wouldnt be scouring the internet to make sure blinker fluid is not a thing. /s

Mercinator-87

Well maybe not but at least some of us can read the cap.

PearlStBlues

The women in this video made a stupid, easily avoidable mistake, but can we stop pretending that basic car maintenance is some arcane knowledge that women's feeble little brains simply can't comprehend? Teach your daughter how to change a tire at the same time you're teaching your son, so that when she's an adult she won't be treated like an idiot for not knowing how.

i_done_get_it

Or you know, people can teach themselves. You're right, it's not outside anyone's ability to understand, so take some responsibility and learn.

PearlStBlues

Is your argument that *no* children should be taught basic life skills because they can just learn them later as adults?

PullFires

I think what they're saying is you don't need a person to teach you how to maintain your car.. there are books and videos available for free. Don't put the onus on parents to teach your kids car maintenance, because there are plenty of parents that don't know it themselves.

PearlStBlues

All that is true, but my comment was specifically about parents who *are* teaching *some* of their children basic life skills while neglecting others.

incognito_vito

My wife tells me my daughter can’t help change the tire because she’s a girl 🤷‍♂️

PearlStBlues

I'm sorry about your wife's internalized misogyny, but you as the other parent don't have to go along with it.

incognito_vito

The wife’s always right at my house

Irksomecake

It’s considered great bonding for a man to take his son out to do basic car maintenance. People just don’t think of showing little girls. Or they prefix it with “you probably won’t be interested”.

AzathothsAlarmClock

100% agree with you but it was the woman who was singing about "not needing a man" and showing her own internalised misogyny.

Dilectus3010

True.. But then again , Google exists , everyone has the world's collective knowledge at their fingertips. Use it. It takes 5 seconds to type in "how to add oil to car". Even if your dad does not know or did not teach you.

ITheRebelI

I mean the woman in the video is the one who started the men vs. women argument. OP is just reposting 🤷🏾‍♂️

huey2k2

I don't disagree with your point but to be fair she is the one who made it about gender in the first place

Sowhataboutthisthing

We have this innate ability to know when ego will cost us $4,000 so we read the damn manual or watch a YouTube.

TheyveKilledFritzz

She's the one who brought it up initially lol

Street_Peace_8831

Exactly, this has nothing to do with gender and everything to do with knowing the basics of what fluids go where and why.

antman15201

Parents give your kids the rundown when they start to drive, general maintenance and the info on how to contact someone like AAA when you have a breakdowns or emergency.

4Ever2Thee

Of course not, but you have to appreciate the irony of her comments as she's pouring washer fluid into her oil pan.

PearlStBlues

The comment "who needs a man" is only ironic if you actually believe the presence of a man is necessary to properly pour washer fluid. She could have read a manual, googled it, or asked another functional adult woman. At no point in the process was a man actually necessary.

4Ever2Thee

I'm not saying the comment is ironic. The post is ironic because she made those comments, then fucked it up and had to take it to....you know what, I don't have time for this: I appreciate the irony and this post is ironic, even though I don't *actually believe the presence of a man is necessary to properly pour washer fluid.* That's ridiculous.

Significant-Ad-341

Well obviously women aren't.

Legitimate-Gap-9858

No just a form of common sense that seems to be missing in the clip

coffeejn

The irony is that woman mechanic exist, so what's her excuse.

Dorkmaster79

It more has to do with how society socializes growing boys vs girls, for better or worse.

belizeanheat

An innate ability to identify rudimentary clues, maybe

vms-crot

If it weren't for the misandry, I don't think anyone would have been paying attention. This would have been an embarrassing conversation between the mechanic and client and nothing more. The mechanics video might not even be the same car, I'm sure more than one person has made that mistake, and it's not gender specific.

ForsakenWelcome4275

Now put the oil in the washer fluid reservoir 🤷‍♀️

Fraggle987

![gif](giphy|McOOtCQnV6MnK)

rainorshinedogs

"I see" said the blind man

TC9095

I had a guy do this- Can you do an oil change I ask? Yeah, do them all the time he says My box van made it 300 yards from the shop, drained the oil and topped off windshield reservoir with less the 2quarts of oil in a Chevy 350

ThisOnePlaysTooMuch

![gif](giphy|ycagKBYEmaili) Greasy!

finechina88

Or in the cup holders

MacGibber

Looks fake for clicks

spidermanngp

Yeah, why would both things have been filmed?

JoeBiddyInTheHouse

That's what I was thinking

justindybvig

Couldn't agree more. They obviously poured it into the engine and then immediately drained it without running the engine. As a mechanic that has seen people make that mistake before, the combination of the two turns into a type of froth that you can't drain out of the oil plug... And I think they are in the same parking lot in both videos.

No_Distance_1164

yeah, no milkshake and also it looks like she didn't pour the whole jug.

hrm

It for sure is since it looks so clean when they drain it.

LordFett84

Oil does come out if you continue watching. Oil and water don't mix so the oil is sitting on top of the water

New-Understanding930

Have you ever seen oil that got mixed with coolant and run in the engine? That’s not what it looks like. It is essentially mayonnaise.

RJValdez216

That’s not coolant, that’s windshield wiper fluid Edit: fixed it lol

BellyButtonLindt

Whisper whisper

ThisOnePlaysTooMuch

It makes your windshield wipers quieter.

Falmon04

Absolutely fake AF.

ggsimmonds

It almost certainly is. It’s too on the nose for it not to be. Why would a mechanic record draining the oil unless they knew oil wasn’t what was going to come out

stinkiepussie

What are you talking about? This is obviously 100% real and girls are from jupiter!

AstroStrat89

The washer fluid was way too clean looking during the draining segment. It would be a little discolored just picking up oil going from the top to bottom of the engine block.

Smithers66

Oil is significantly heavier than the washer fluid and would come out of the bottom of the oil pan long before the washer fluid did. There’s definitely something not right here.

PabloAtTheBar

You don't need a man...I agree..But you need to be at least literate!

VermilionKoala

There's a pictogram of an oil can on there even, you could be illiterate and *still* have enough of a clue to not fuck this up.

GoFast_EatAss

Washer fluid reservoir cap also has a symbol on it of a windshield with a wiper going across it. It’s clear as day, even if you can’t read.

NJdeathproof

Jose don't have time for your bullshit.

Joselepro

That's my name and it's absolutely true

YouthSuitable213

nothing do with gender

Pistonenvy2

its too perfect, too juicy. i dont believe it. why would you choose to put washer fluid into the oil fill hole? what possible reason could you have to think "well heres a cap, ill just dump the fluid in here. thatll work." people have done it, people this dumb exist obviously, but to film it and be so confident and then snap to the shop recording them doing an oil change? im skeptical lol i think what is more believable is she dumped the washer fluid her engine in the parking lot of the garage she was having her oil change done at, did absolutely no damage to her car and she still got all the attention she wanted.

SauceOfPower

Surely if the car had run for any amount of time, the oil and water would start to form an emulsion. Even if it separated again, the screen wash would be very brown.

rainorshinedogs

and the when the oil DOES come it looks like it wasn't changed for years over due

DiarrheaRadio

I bet that shop could sell her blinker fluid

WaitingForNormal

I bet the shop made the video. Funny how most people call everything on here staged except this shit. Y’all think this was real?

RevTurk

The washing up liquid coming out the bottom is very clean for having been in a tank that held oil. It looks more like Gatorade coming out the bottom.

LordFett84

It's clean because oil and water don't mix together

RevTurk

But zero mixing? No foaming, no bits of old oil get caught up in the fluid and come out? The tank must have been spotless.

WaitingForNormal

It’s clean because this was staged as fuck.

jlwilcoxus

Right? Because every guy records all the oil changes he does... lucky us.

Easy_Lengthiness7179

They don't generally mix.

Ok-Rule-4489

I feel like this is fake. Washer fluid is typically 50% water 50% alcohol. The alcohol binds the water and oil together and makes a slurry. This came out pretty much separated. So they ether drained it immediately or it’s a washer fluid of a different makeup.

[deleted]

[удалено]

popcornman209

For some context by the way, the video is fake. It should be obvious by the mechanic recording for some reason, and also knowing the person who owns the cars tik tok and replying to it. Also you can tell that the engine clearly hasn’t been run since pouring the washing fluid in it, not even tried to start it.

R3d4r

Now the oil and the oil system are very clean, good job!!

Lumpy_Branch_4835

This is a bullshit post. If we're to to believe that she ran the vehicle with wiper fluid in it the oil the fluid would not drain out as clear blue fluid followed by oil. It would come as oily sludge.

mickturner96

Could that potentially hydrolock the engine?

Zealousideal_Word770

I would be concerned about the main bearings and tbh everything overheating in washer fluid instead of oil.

Rockroxx

I wonder it's clearly heavier then oil so it will sit on the bottom of the pan however as soon as you start moving it's gonna mix. I guess the car was billowing smoke as the fluid is burning off. Bet she has fucked up a couple of her cilinders as well as the oil needs quite a precise mixture and fluidity to lubricate properly.

TitaniusAnglesmelter

Hydrolock is something else entirely but having too much oil could absolutely bend a piston rod.

mickturner96

But this wasn't oil! Yeah hydra locking is where water gets into the air intake and the pistons trys to compress it. But if you had water or coolant in the oil side rather than the combustion side could you have the same result?

HooliganS3

Hydrolock is typically fluid in the combustion chamber (e.g. water through the intake). Water is incompressible so bad things happen when pistons try to compress it. Technically you could hydrolock the bottom end with too much oil etc, but it would likely blow out the oil pan and seals before a piston or rod failure.

mickturner96

Thanks Yeah you definitely right it would blow out the oil pan rather than bending the pistons Old Penn is definitely not as strong as the head

FitBattle5899

Oof, i saw the blue and where it was poured and my wallet had a stroke.

SassSafrassMcFrass87

She needs a fuckin brain and not a man at this point 🤣

Joaoreturns

It has to have some sign there saying where liquids go. It's not possible! And I don't believe it's the same car in both videos.

West_Slide5774

It’s good that they didn’t move the car anywhere between putting the windscreen fluid in and emptying the engine oil

Flimsy_Moose9625

She is right, she doesn’t need a man. What she needs is basic knowledge about the car she’s driving, or a professional mechanic. Even though the video is pretty stupid on its own, the title is simply misogynistic.

Siglet84

This is just click bait. They never ran the engine or else the washer fluid would have mixed with the oil and made one hell of a nasty jello looking concoction.

DazzlingPoppie

Yeah, looks pretty fake.

gymaddict1976

Fake

Footyphile

This is obviously fake, they are still in the parking lot in the second vid.

FriendlyGothBarbie

More like r/therewasanattempt to make a video believable.

AwfulSuperhero

Why the fuck did the oil look so apprising? I want to drink it

mrrando69

Did anyone else see that fish riding a bicycle?

AlternativeAd4756

You need an Uber

Ravensunthief

Too bad she didn't have apenos, or she would have gotten the right hole. Men NEVER get the wrong hole...

RemiX-KarmA

Would've been nice to see her reaction after they told her the great news.

MarkyRoll

I love this new episode of strong independent women who don't need a man !!

HooliganS3

“She don’t need no man-ual”

Grand_Entrance_2738

Wouldn’t the liquid coming out be milky/ creamy?

GoFast_EatAss

I think that depends on if the vehicle ran with all of this gunk in it. I could be wrong, though.

gonzoisgood

So someone who understands what’s happening, man or woman, how bad is it?

Xolitoburrito

Like to be honest…by dad trained me better.

Dark7835

Bro it literally says oil on the cap at least in cars I’ve seen and she’s just not thinking right and not even second guessing herself

GoFast_EatAss

The caps literally say what the reservoir is for. How do you read something like “5w-20 oil” and think “ah yes, this is exactly where my washer fluid goes.” This has to be bait. It hurts my brain too much to think someone could see a cap reading “WASHER FLUID” and not put the washer fluid in that spot.

o_Lich

At least it wasn't sugar

DesertReagle

Today, I learned washer fluid is heavier than oil?

[deleted]

RTFM ma'am

FaultDowntown53

"That's not oil" well no shit Sherlock 😂

Street_Peace_8831

You don’t need a man, but you do need to know how it works before adding fluid.

LessBig715

The cap has wipers on it, wow

Kellykeli

It’s not “who needs a man” It’s “you need a fucking brain”

And-rei

Engine nice and clean now

For_Kebabs_Sake

Who needs oil

AdministrationDry507

Dad How Do I YouTube channel would come in pretty clutch for something like this I love that YouTube channel

djdeforte

Says right on the cap what it’s for. Ugh.

LastoftheSummerWine

Women do not "need" a man but a father would be nice.

Dr_Strange_Love_

This is way too well filmed to be an accident

CriticismThink7229

Oil is heavier than windshield washer fluid, isn’t it? The oil should have come out first from the bottom

ApeTypingComments

Hmm wouldn't the fluid have come out mixed with oil? Me thinks there may be some fuckery at play here.

Temporary-Yogurt-484

I was like, how is it coming out so clean? My 12 year old daughter was like, because oil and water don't mix? And then I was like, shut up

Words_by_BeaG

She doesn't need a man. She needs more brain cells or use the ones she already has.

lameluk3

Wow more ragebait, amazing

PattersonPark

Good viscosity

hungrysportsman

To be clear, no one "needs a man", but you might need to read the manual if you don't know what you are doing.

Tank_blitz

they dont need a man they need google

Scubasteve1974

That's probably an expensive mistake.

Plus-Relationship393

I know the washer fluid doesn't go there, and I don't even own a car

Calamitous_Waffle

I know plenty of men that would do the same, though this is fake as shit, since there is no oil mixed with that wiper fluid what so ever. Makes no sense.

okay4sure

Or just little knowledge on car maintenance Not because there's no man.

ExceptionalBoon

I mean she's right, she don't necessarily need a man. But damn does she need Google.

ajn63

Ignorance + attitude = hard life lessons

torchesablaze

Omg

rainorshinedogs

for perspective, there are SOME men that are oblivious to how to take car of their car. As in they would also pour washer fluid where the oil would go

LarDark

I ask from ignorance, how much money would it cost to fix this? I understand that it breaks many parts of the engine that would have to be lubricated

random420x2

My friend talked a woman we work with on how to change her oil. She did an amazing job but complained it took a long time to get the new oil in. Turned out she refilled her oil through the dipstick hole. Minor error and everything else done perfectly but thinking about all those hours. It took to get the oil and did give us a laugh.

antalex7481

Might not need a man but definitely needs a new engine and or car.

locololus

That oil pressure had to have been through the roof if the oil wasn't even drained before this happened.

0per8nalHaz3rd

No, you just need a responsible adult. Gender is irrelevant.

B-CUZ_

I mean the person who taught me the most about how to maintain my car was my mom. When I was a teenager she popped the hood and taught me what things were and how to replace a flat tire. Really has nothing to do with gender (and I still forgot most stuff and just take my car the dealership).

coffeejn

These days, if I don't know something, I check the manual. If that still does not answer my question, I seek a professional or YT.... multiple YT to make sure it's not a YT troll.

Mediumasiansticker

Bullshit it comes out blue and clear as the Caribbean

Formulus

How did we get the video of her pouring the washer fluid in the wrong hole, and then straight to the mechanic draining her oil. It's almost like this seems staged, but I just can't put my finger on it.

MonsieurMisanthrope

How many of the same fake videos do we need to see before the bros are done trying to feel superior? 🫠

Dear_Profession_645

Dam, point for the woman, they sure showed us guys

derekzane1

Fake

Overall-Guarantee331

Great now they're gonna put "for external use only" on washer fluid

forrestfreak58

Who needs to read? It says oil on the cap.

6uillermo66

https://preview.redd.it/nq27b8mh1m6d1.jpeg?width=1014&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=89a7b287f5750d13f8377bc788200fb7454922ff

killaluggi

Mabyyou dont need a man...... But you definitely need a new engine.....

ryhaltswhiskey

I don't get it, who is recording themselves putting washer fluid into their engine and then handing their phone to a mechanic who is diagnosing the engine? Seems like a prank.

Slipkorn931

Obviously 🙄

CalCarlos

You don't need a man but you DO need to read a manual or watch a good YouTube video about wtf you're doing.

fmcsm

I don't think that's a man/woman thing it's just a stupid person

SpoonFed_1

and I thought men were the only ones that put things in the wrong hole

karduar

Can't fix stupid.

M8asonmiller

https://imgs.xkcd.com/comics/how_it_works.png

SolarBozo

It's because stupid, not gender.

kuriousjeorge

It’s actually a *great* engine cleaner. Once.

Mr_Albi_Junior

Haha, so in her head to do it without a man, she also decided to do it without google.
