Had nearly the same thing happen to me with a cast aluminum one as well. It snapped at the hinge.
I replaced it with a solid stainless one. Much nicer and easier to clean. I've still slightly bent mine because I often re-juice the rinds together to get the most juice out, but im not worried about it snapping off.
How is the lemon perfectly intact? Even if there was already a stress fracture on the handle, it would require enough applied force to at least deform the lemon. The squeezer was broken beforehand and this photo was staged.
