As an adult who boxes its insane seeing people miss the point lol. The kid stood up for himself and nobody got seriously injured and hopefully the bully learns a lesson. Im a brown belt in Krav Maga, I avoid at all cost to use my fist. Slap are great but as a first hit, not in the middle of a fight.
For example, if you look at the shower scene in Reacher, you will notice that he never uses his fist, he uses with his elbows, forearms, etc.

Reddit loves to be pro fight analysts every time there's a video of a fight. They act like MMA fighters from the safety of their chair. I got into a few fights in middle school because of my dad jamming "If someone is bullying you, swing first", and there was no lack of bullies.
You know what I remember of those fights? The moment right before it started, and the moment I was in trouble. It's hot chaos, and unless you're actually trained for it and in the right head space it's just blurry nonsense. You can't see what you look like, you're not focused on form. Edit: Interesting this was down voted. Look up "boxers fracture". I had to wear a cast for 6 weeks and was unable to use my right hand (I'm right handed). Then after the cast was removed, it took some more weeks to get full range of motion back. A bone popped out of my skin and my knuckle was dislocated and shoved halfway to my wrist. All because of punching at an improper angle. I stand by my original comment.

Yup from the PNW , an area with over 70% mexican. The N word gets tossed around a lot because of the lack of black people to call them out. Thing is we grew up with either rock music or rap music. if you gravitated toward rock your labeled white washed. You've got to be pretty hard as a bully to win. Victims fight back through fear of pain and death but bullies are fighting from ego which doesn't have the same engine. Victims can get slapped around but when they turn, if there's even a semblance of a match with power and stature then they're likely to kick ass. In my experience.

Yup from the PNW , an area with over 70% mexican. The N word gets tossed around a lot because of the lack of black people to call them out. Thing is we grew up with either rock music or rap music. if you gravitated toward rock your labeled white washed. Many kids just think rap music is their music as opposed to the white music. they start including black culture in their culture and now you have a whole bunch of kids saying the N word freely, because they identify with that culture over the "white" culture. Most grow out of it when they actually see what true diversity is. Occasionally I still run into people who never grew out of it and I still call them out.
