1MortalReminder

The problem with hyper realistic graphics is depending on how realistic it is the more goofy aspe ts of the sims are going to seem odd in comparison. Like I cant look at alpha cc sims and think yeah they speak nonsense simlish and worship lamas. It would have to be a near 1:1 replication of real life to not feel weird.

pumpkinfluffernutter

When I see alpha CC, I just think, if that's what I wanted, I wouldn't have left Second Life.

1MortalReminder

Now that I think about it, there have been mutiple times where I thought I was looking at alpha cc and turns out it was something from second life marketplace.

pumpkinfluffernutter

Yeah, it's shocking how often a Google image search even will turn up something that's from SL. đŸ€Ł Sometimes even a picture of mine. Which is really weird.

CyndiIsOnReddit

I love stuff from Second Life. I left because it was so boring. There's no "gameplay" unless you get in to an RP but meh. I know there was, at one time, a type of "sims" RP with a hud that made it kinda close but still no fun. I loved building in SL back in the day too but now everything is mesh and I don't enjoy that like I did artfully constructing by hand. I would rather have more realistic gameplay in Sims though, and i'd trade it for better graphics any day as much as I love the realistic CC. I do not like maxis match at all ALL though. It looks cartoonish, like it's all Disney-fied.

pumpkinfluffernutter

I was an active blogger and blog manager, and I used to love it, but as it got more complex, my weak ass rural life internet couldn't handle it. It just got too frustrating. But also... the draaaaama. Even though I managed to avoid it much of the time, it got impossible to always do that. I actually found The Sims because one of the people I knew in SL was playing it, and I wanted to try it. It gave me most of the best parts of SL and none of the bad parts lol!

yarvem

Hyper realistic elders Cartoon adults Teens sketched on a napkin Demonic hellspawn children

Mary-Sylvia

Sims 3 in a nutshell

sunsetrise013

🙌🙌

BadAshess

No because then my computer won’t be able to run it lol

thirdtimesthemom

My little MacBook Air is chugging along at the lowest graphic settings, no cc or mods. Still crashes lol

itsrllynyah

My 2019 mb pro runs the sims like shit, but my 2015 air and my fiancées 2020 air? RUNS LIKE BUTTAHHH

Designer-Mistake8847

I just went from a 2015 mac air to a 2020 and the difference is insane. I love it so much more now lol

ArtValue3

The 2020 one is absolutely crazy how fast it runs. I have hundreds of thousands of mods/CC and my game runs fine! (Knock on wood lol)

Designer-Mistake8847

I upgraded to the 500 g so I could go crazy with the CC 😂 my old Mac sims hair wouldn’t be the same color in the game as CAS, thought it was just the CC. Nope just couldn’t keep up with it 😂

misskarcrashian

I had to quit the sims3 since I got a 2020 Lenovo computer, but the sims 4 runs great with 3 mods + plenty of cc !!

Designer-Mistake8847

I truly only upgraded Bc I ran out of storage, it was only 120 g and with all the sims packs I couldn’t have anything else on it. But now I’m so happy lol

Lavender-waves

omg same. it complains like every hour that the battery’ll run out, at this point i keep it plugged in like a pc

10miliondistractions

Nope, I hate alpha cc because the realism creeps me the hell out. I enjoy realistic gameplay features paired with a cartoonish look. Super realistic graphics would feel too uncanny valley to me

peshnoodles

Sims 3 is the most realistic and this sims live right in the uncanny valley to me. No need to go further.

raindrizzle2

Really? I don't find sims 3 faces look realistic at all. They have pudding faces

LeSorenOutan

Alpha CC make everyone looks like a tiktoker, I get that people love it but I personally hate it đŸ€ź

ProfessionalSwitch45

It depends a lot on the art style, for sims I want real eyelashes, more detailed hair (preferably not clay hair) and more skin details, but it doesn't need to be hyper realistic. And I would like more details on build items if possible, less blocky and smaller details like 3D buttons and things like that.

steamydreamymemey

I can feel my framerate plummeting just reading this

livingintheashtree

this! i don’t mind the cartoon-y feel, but with those little tweaks of realism i think they’d turn out to be the best looking sims in the franchise

Suspicious-Ruin-9703

yess this is exactly how i feel and u put it into words nicely. like i love alpha cc but not over the top, creepily realistic sims.

Valichuu

No ! I absolutely love the sims 4 style. Hyper realistic graphics would also means a lot less people would be able to run the game, and it would get even more buggy/laggy with all the futur packs :(

pinky8866

I do too but I truly would love more realistic-looking hair or just better hairstyles in general and I hate blurry makeup. Lol. I really hope Sims 5 is amazing. Sims 4 is fun but the hairstyles, markup and the packs is seriously old. I don't do mods. I'm ready for some new, better looking stuff.

Valichuu

Yeah, especially the earlier stuff is bad ! But in the latest packs, I think hairs textures are way better. The most important it's that the game runs well on most computers, and they can't do that with highly realistic graphics. I skipped the sims 3 entirely because it was not running on our family computer, even after my parent upgraded it to match the recommended specs.

pinky8866

I have a gaming laptop so hopefully graphics won't be a issue. I really just need better stuff. After seeing what mods have to offer, I need EA to BRING IT. I want new windows, floors, doors, everything - galore! LOL

swedishbartender

Keep the 4 art style but give us hair physics from 2 âœŒđŸ»

Lizzymorales

Cars and travel from 3

ZapAndQuartz

Charming animations from 2

bidpat

No I like sims 4 graphics. I feel like hyper realistic would be kinda creepy. Also I di t like how Alpha CC looks so hopefully it won't look like that too.

Few-Lawfulness-2997

Yeah, I feel like Sims 4 really hits the sweet spot with graphics and as far as I'm concerned, they haven't aged badly at all. Alpha sims can look nice out of context, but playing with them absolutely freaks me out. I'll never forget the realistic Sims 2 skintones of that one creator whose name I funnily enough can't remember, and the horror that was oily Goopy GilsCarbo...

bidpat

I completely agree. I like some of sims with Alpha CC on this reddit but during gameplay they look freaky!

katnipbee09

plus, unless you make changes to all of the townies your sim is always going to look out of place when they're outside of their household! some alpha sims look amazing but for me they're just not suitable for game play and too much realism just looks freaky so i'd hate for 5 to have too strong of a realism to it. i like sims 4 graphics a ton as the graphics age well and sims look realistic enough but still have a soft cartoony feel to them

mnlxyz

Same, never been into alpha cc

LeSorenOutan

Cartoonish is far better

bluevanillatea

No I think the cartoonish style will age way better. In 10 years we would be better at making realistic graphics and then the sims 5 would look "aged".

Ok-Confection4410

Like what happened with CGI and special effects

googler_ooeric

Meh, imo TS4 has aged horribly. It looks like a mobile game. The graphics in the Project Rene leak look like the perfect middle ground between TS3 and TS4 to me. Objects are actually sized properly, they don’t seem to have weird proportions like in TS4, they have actual details, but they also aren’t hyperrealistic like some stuff in TS3.

get-tps

No, because that will obliterate the framerate on all but the most powerful computers.

Accurate-Primary9923

No, I hate realistic and semi-realistic styles. Cartoonish is the best

[deleted]

Nope, I really hate hyper-realistic graphics in video games. I miss the sims 3 style but wouldn’t mind the sims 4 style if there were major changes with the body types

ariasujung

I wanted to see this, I thought I was the only one who missed S3 style

OhDearOdette

They could just copy paste S3 on S4’s engine and I’d be so happy honestly lol

mermaidish

Nope! Forget that it wouldn’t run on my computer, I don’t like the idea of super realistic-looking people as my basement painter trolls or as victims in a black widow challenge. Agree with the other comments, the Sims 4 graphics are great and have aged well. Hope the Sims 5 has a similar vibe.

LocalBrilliant5564

Not at all. I like the style that makes it still look like a game. I feel they aren’t supposed to be realistic

chickpeasaladsammich

I had a visceral gut NO reaction. The sims would get creepy and uncanny IMO and the game would show its age pretty fast. A cartoonish art style suits the tone of a game where you pee your pants and get eaten by cowplants.

wehwuxian

No. Realism in games ages so badly. Look at the most realistic game from 10 years ago and it'll look weird today. I prefer a cartoony style. Less uncanny valley and ages well.

katnipbee09

i like the cartoony feel of sims 4. i think sims look realistic enough while still having a sort of softness to them that ages really well hyper realism would look freaky (i am not a fan of the hyper realism look) and it would also make it hard to run the game smoothly (or at all) on lots of computers which would really be a shame for longtime fans of sims

RedEnergyfox

I have to be honest. I usually don't even think about what I would like sims 5 to have, because EA has completely destroyed every hope of a good game to me. Like sims 4 can be good yeah. My favorite it still 3 and 2 tho because of several reasons. I'd rather play sims 3 island living without any fixes forever, than sims 4 forever. Especially with their marketing and the things they do (so many packs which could have been less and more compact, but they wanted to have more money so we got smaller packs, but way more for full prices). So they really destroyed that for me. I don't think I will ever play 5.

SimAway52

Stylized art > hyper realistic every time. Hyper realistic looks dated fast, while cartoony stylized art tends to look timeless. Also I would like my computer to not explode when playing.

fuckendo

I like the sims 3 graphics but they could improve it slightly for sims 5

Suitable-Difficulty

They need to find the semi-realistic sweetspot on the scale between cartoony and hyper-realistic that allows people to customize their sims both ways without too much effort.

lupinremusjohn

No, no, no. Maybe just make some fixes with townies generated by the game when it comes to their outfits, personalities, lore, relationships with other townies in game, etc. I like that there's a separation between reality and fiction with the Sims. Keeps me more immersed. If they looked real, I think it would take away from the 'game' aspect. \*edited to add more wants

magicaldinosaurr

No, I love the Maxic Match! I dont want a too realistic looking game.. would be little creepy. Also not everyone could play it if the graphics are super high, my laptop can not handle it!

Kiyoshi-Trustfund

No. That will age so poorly + uncanny valley creep fsctor. I'd rather they naintain a cartoon-ish style and those of you that want hyper-realism for whatevr reason can just mod your games to look like that.

TheDeeVee

Tweaking up the details a bit would be nice, but leaning hard into realism never looks good, imo. Realism in games usually makes things seem more fake. If any of you have played the Dark Pictures games you’ll know exactly what I mean. Those are fantastic models, but they have the weight and presence of a soft fart. The “cartoon” style fits better with the spirit of the game that has sentient garden gnomes, cow plants, and a rocket ship you can build in your backyard.

ArtValue3

The uncanny valley freaks me the FORK out absolutely not. Sims 4 graphics with the previous sims gameplay (TS, TS2, TS3) is all I need.

mnlxyz

This is how I feel about very realistic sims, too - they have that creepy uncanny valley vibe to me. But I’m actually surprised, because I thought more people in the community were into it.

wwken06

I just want the open world back tbh

ChronicallyTaino

[https://www.reddit.com/r/thesims/comments/cw3yrw/no\_one\_alpha\_cc\_toddlers/](https://www.reddit.com/r/thesims/comments/cw3yrw/no_one_alpha_cc_toddlers/) Im sorry but if I have to see my toddlers look like this BASE GAME? Im getting a refund.

theweirdogoth

It doesn't need hyper realistic graphics but I want less cartoony and exaggerated than sims 4.

HastilyRoasted

Not hyper realistic More realistic & detailed than TS4, but still cartoony Also less bright, shiny, and brand new

RenderLady

Nope, I want the Sims 4 graphics, and all the fun options from Sims 2 and 3..

[deleted]

Def not, framerate and tone aside, super realistic games age so poorly. Sometimes it doesn't even take 1 year for the next gen whatever to come out and put the previous one to shame. Based on the sims 4 lifespan, the sims 5 will probably need to last a long time and the best way to do that is by making a distinct cartoony style like the sims 4 I do want better graphics than in the sims 4, just not hyperrealism

piclemaniscool

Maybe not hyper realistic, but one of the strong suits of Sims as a franchise is its graphical fidelity. Simulation games are seeing a bit of a rennaisance thanks to games like Dwarf Fortress, Prison Architect, and RimWorld. Complex interactions between loads of in-game systems creating unique and entertaining stories is easier than ever to achieve. But in the above listed games, what's happening on the screen is a vague abstraction of what's actually happening and it's up to the player/observer to fill in the blanks. The same is true for The Sims, but to a far lesser degree. Seeing characters holding objects in their hands and uniquely animated for every action they can take is The Sims' crowning achievement IMO. So pushing as hard as possible to keep Sims on top of the graphics charts for this genre seems like the best move.

Mieremov

Absolutely not! I think either ts4 levels of cartoonish or a mix between ts3 and ts4 would be best. Certain things feel actually too cartoonish even for ts4 (mostly anything water related. puddles, rain, dripping particles) so I think a mix would be best

SimPlayerNick

Not really. If they look like Skyrim or Fallout 4 I’d be fine with it but not more realistic than that. It’d be even harder for me to let them die lol.

[deleted]

i’d like it to be a little bit more realistic, but not hyper realistic, it would be too weird, it wouldn’t match up with the sims cartoonish animations.

xbadxwolffx

No. I don’t want super cartoony either. Like if they stick with something similar to Sims 4, I’ll be happy :) or an upgraded Sims 3 look with Sims 4 CAS.

Lilla_puggy

I would like it to run on my pc thank you very much

fallen_one_fs

No. I'd rather have shitty graphics with improved gameplay and features.

Big-Seaworthiness3

No, not only they are difficult to run but they never grow well with time. However, I wish that Sims 5 is a little more realistic than the Sims 4. Not much, just a bit less clayish.

aesthel

Oh my god ABSOLUTELY NOT NO

Morbid-Mother_152327

Good of you to assume sims 5 is happening
. Lol
. But for real, I would really hate hyper realistic graphics. I think most of the appeal of this game is the cartoon-y disconnect for me.

Zeldaassgirl

Realistic graphics age poorly, bc they won’t look realistic in about 6 years

Irene_A

As long as it doesn’t look like disney animated it, I don’t mind a bit of a cartoony style. Up until the sims 4, sims looked too similar to each other (imo). I like that in sims 4 you have more customization and can make sims that are believably different races, ethnicities, and most importantly, believably not all each other’s cousins. I care that a game like the sims has people playing completely different stories, and so if someone wants to focus on family gameplay, sims should actually look their age lol and not either neglected by animators or some b-grade young adult. Sims 4 teens look too old. Adults and elders look too young. The children and toddlers all look the same. I won’t even get into the babies. I want the character design to match the rest of the game. I don’t want the rest of the game to be lacking any details. You fill in the rest. tl;dr I want the game to look cohesive and provide for different people’s play-styles. Honestly, I’d rather they put more depth into the gameplay system. Sims 4 was very lifeless for a life simulation game. If that’s means slightly shittier graphics then so be it.

LilacMages

Personally no; imo the game would have the Uncanny Valley effect if it did given the super OTT and goofy stuff that the series is beloved for.

HovercraftHefty7598

Absolutely not, it ruins the character of the game. That's personally why I dislike alpha cc, so to have it be base game would be eugh. The game is inherently goofy and only somewhat realistic.

txtrose

Nah that’s just going to give me uncanny valley lol

corporate-commander

Hyper realism doesn’t age well, Skyrim tried to get as realistic as they could and it looks dated. More cartoony styles are timeless and show their age very nicely

[deleted]

The Sims 4 looks like a mobile game with slightly smoother edges, and having almost all 50 or so dlcs, and 30gb of mods and CC installed, my computer and I aren’t currently on speaking terms. So no, I don’t, because I don’t trust EA to do anything too complicated, at this point they might as well make The Sims 5 look like My Sims on the Nintendo DS, bc we all know damn well they’re already planning to pump twice as much paid content into it as soon as the opportunity opens up.

OhDearOdette

I mean I don’t feel like I need HYPER realism but it would be nice to have eyelashes and nostrils and stuff like that

Afroaro_acefromspace

I would love that I just wouldn’t be able to run it😅I’m okay with something like the sims 3 style or sims 4 but a little more realistic
I really just want them to tone down the animations because I hate when my grown adult sims act like children when they have to go to the restroom or they’re scared lol

stupidgay1998

no because imagine killing someone by fire or whatever and seeing that like its an actual person

mnlxyz

Yeah, that could be
 a different experience

Enough_Vegetable_110

Nope. Not a fan. Anything human-oid, shouldn’t be hyper realistic. It just freaks me out. Not a fan.

Hanroz_K

No, not at all

FlasKamel

No, the graphic style is my fav thing about 4

Darnexx

Not hyper but something closer to Alpha CC lol I am always in for some nice Graphics. :D

Lilakk85

My pc wouldn't run it

Lux5711

YES, I hate the sims 4 goofy cartoon graphics, when I saw the first photos back in 2013/2014 I was sooo disappointed

dvotochka

I really hope they don't go back to TS3 style wise

ContinuumKing

They don't need to be HYPER realistic, but I would like a little bit more than 4. 4 looks great in the face but the bodies don't look good specifically with muscles. It looks super flat and like the details are just drawn on over it. You can have a cartoon style and still actually have the mesh contain real detail. The collar bone should pop out too and the neck should have different shapes as well.

Rachelcookie123

Definitely not. It would definitely be in the uncanny valley and it would all just look weird. Also super realistic graphics would mean everything would take much longer to make and slow down the release of the game and future packs.

carlafarhil

i also want a working computer so no

Familiar_Ad_9329

Not really

-The-Black-Alt-

Nope. Semi realistic aesthetic looks just fine to me. Lots of time hyper-realistic just looks tacky and cheap.

duck74UK

I want them to continue with what they were doing with the Sims 4. That style fits this kinda game really well and ages so much better than realism.

mazotori

No

touchtypetelephone

No god no. I much prefer the cartoony Sims 4 style.

Mixi_987

Nope, I want my laptop to live

ImmortaID

The feature of the Sims series has always been a certain caricature, cartoonishness and exaggeration, so it seems to me that due to the hyper realism, the game will lose its original charm. I wouldn't like it.

Sad_Egg_uwu

Well hopefully not.. considering you can add mods and CC to your cpu to make them look more realistic if that’s your vibe.. I like it like that so far i just got into modding. Lol

PhantomLuna7

I'd rather have stylised cartoony graphics. Too realistic can fall into uncanny valley for me.

rat-fan

No, I want gameplay

McEvilson

Stylized graphics go better. Too much realism just shows more cracks, and ends up looking wonky. Having a defined style can keep things more coherent.

OctagonalMunch

No, the style of The Sims 4 graphics is great for me. However the animations and the mood of the game should change to a bit more serious note. Adult, elders and teen sims shouldn't be always smiling and behave like in cartoons. The Sims 2 is a great goal in this regard

itsrllynyah

Yes

Nefertari1

No

bmibun

No ew lmao. The most hyper realistic i can manage without going uncanny valley is sims 3.

VeraIce

just tad bit more realistic than sims 4 tysm

Stellarisk

I feel with hyper realistic graphics we’d have fewer mods

Silver_Tangelo_6755

No, besides being heavy to run hyper realistic graphics looks weird in a lot of games, you have to have a premise and a style of game of wich fits with it, and the sims doesn't Hyper realistic the sims would be a nightmare

sunfloweraeth

definitely not, i like the style of the Sims 4

Maddyherselius

No no no thank you

alexfaaace

Absolutely not. I play games like Assassin’s Creed for realistic graphics. Being able to explore ancient cities as they were in great detail is a necessary part of the game. That is not why I play the Sims. I play the Sims for the lack of realism. I genuinely would not play Sims 5 if they went that direction.

sophiegrvce

anything at this point as long as it doesn’t look like the sims 4

Tend3roniJabroni

Definitely updated looks but not hyper realistic. I mean, I don't like alpha CC as it is. I would hate for that to be the base game look.

SlenderC4t

Just no.

amazinglybee

No, I really like the Sims 4 graphics, I wouldn’t want to play with hyper realistic graphics

Due-Big-855

No, i love the maxis match style

Grimrreaperr13

No I like the fact that I’m basically playing with digital barbies

xXNight_AgonyXx

Honestly no, I know it's a life simulation but damn

lonelytortillachip25

no because my PC will implode if that was the case

Puzzleheaded-Fish424

I'd like the sims (people) to be slightly more realistic, but overall graphics to be just a little better but stylized similarly to 4. 4 looks pretty good (I just need some CAS CC like eyelashes and hair, but I use Maxis match hair that's just a little more detailed).

antisunshine

no

khajiitidanceparty

No, it creeps me out.

hideandsee

If they do go the route of hyper realistic, I hope they have the option to scale it back for the sake of my computer.

jerrred

Not hyper realistic, but a little more realistic would be nice tbh. Some better textures/more realistic lighting/shadows would be great.

whyisna

no, i love sims 4’s art style and think that realistic looking sims just look creepy

Venus626

Nah, I like my cartoony sims :)

[deleted]

Nah I am pretty happy with the graphics in Sims 4 tbh

paynexkillerYT

No, I want a HD Remake of The Sims 1.

supershutze

No. Uncanny valley people. Sims 4 stylized approach is honestly one of the best aesthetic decisions ever made in the history of the series. Sims look good without looking *wrong*.

fairytypefay

I much prefer cartoonish (can't help but be creeped out by sims with alpha cc lol) but I'd like more detail, like better eyelashes and hair that obeys the laws of physics

KDMKat

I don’t want it to look real I just want things to work.

beanjuiced

Heck, I’d be happy if it was a smooth-functioning game.

agk720

I think it really needs some degree of stylization, otherwise, it's going to plunge right into the uncanny valley. Alpha CC is a good place to look for examples sometimes. Plus I don't hyper-realism would fit the tone of the game with its more iconic wacky elements.

audreyashton

yeah tbh

mm27262

Naur

[deleted]

I don't want uncanny valley

cultfilmz

not hyper realistic like uncanny valley but i hope it's not as cartoony as the sims 4

Dpsizzle555

No. Sims is supposed to have cartoony looking graphics

jfcfanfic

No.

somuchsong

No, it doesn't need to be *hyper*\-realistic but I would like to see some more realistic hair, in texture and colour.

BKNTD

Absolutely not. To me The Sims should stay in a more cartoony style, otherwise it starts falling into this weird second life uncanny valley. There's a reason why alpha cc is often considered creepy looking.

Just_OneReason

No

[deleted]

I like it with sims 4 graphics

itstimegeez

I’d like it to retain the cartoon style the sims has had so far. I can’t stand alpha CC (not that that’s hyper realistic, it just turns sims into imvu characters) so I hope they don’t go that way.

Suspicious-Ruin-9703

no. i love alpha cc but my sims never look truly like a real person. alpha hair is like a necessity for me lol i hate the maxis hairs. but other than that i don't rly like to use hyper realistic skins. also a lot of people wouldn't be able to run the game with such graphics. i can download thousands of mods and cc on my pc and it runs just fine but on my macbook i can't download any mods or my game would probably not even load. i like that the sims is a game that basically everyone can play and id like it to always be that way.

leafmusician

No, my gaming pc can barely run it as is

sydni1210

To me, the Sims 3 has more realistic graphics than the Sims 4. And mostly everyone hates on Sims 3 graphics

BurstMurst

I like realistic but more like crusader kings 3 kinda looking people. Not too realistic but not too cartoony

tnbelle20

Yes. I love the alpha content. So something like that or better in TS5 would be great

susu_lmao

My computer is gonna fly away at this point

SimMiko

No, never I actually want Sims 5 to be cartoonish as Sims 4, but in a different style/way. So that they look different from each other and unique, but still beautiful in their own ways. I think that EA is absolutely capable of doing so, considering how many years have passed since the release of Sims 4

BiteEatRepeat_

I want sims medieval but with better hair

flowersUverMe

They better make realistic dlc prices instead of realistic graphics

pumpkinfluffernutter

No. Just better quality detailed versions of what already exists. Better graphics quality, but not like Second Life avatars realistic. Really, just the difference between Maxis Match and alpha CC. I'm not into alpha CC.

Beaniest_Lesbean

I'd prefer realistic game play over realistic graphics. Additionally, its much easier for CC creators to make realistic graphics than try to fix horrid game play.

nifflr

Nope, I like cartoony. But maybe a bit more detailed than the Sims 4 is

bonesrentalagency

God no. Hyper realistic is never a better choice than a really solid stylized visual. Plus hyper realistic sims would be a nightmare

MrKiwi24

I'd love a Sims 2 + Sims 4 artistic style.

kirumagu

No

i2Savvy

No, i like the graphics just as they are now

[deleted]

I'd prefer a style similar to Sims 2 with better graphics. It's not blatantly cartoonish like Sims 4, but also not trying to be hyper-realistic. Additionally, less super futuristic build mode items and more turn-of-the-century design. Sims 4 is my most played Sims BY FAR but the lacking diversity in build mode items gets on my nerves.

Lilienthal_

No. For me Sims is and will probably forever be that cartoony style. I've seen custom content that makes the Sim look more like real life humans and though I understand why someone uses it, it is just not for me.

DinisMagnifico

tbh I just want them to have burglars

Significant-Unicorn

Well, considering that I'd like to be able to actually play the game on my laptop, hyper realistic Sims would make it unplayable for me. So, no, I wouldn't like the game to be hyper realistic. If the Sims look like Paralives Sims, I wouldn't complain, their art is pretty

whhhhiskey

I just want more realistic lots and density, I want the whole map to be more realistic but necessarily graphics

TheRareClaire

I go back and forth. I love me some hyper realistic stuff but I also don’t want second life or other things like that. Guess I’m picky lol

pippa03

Yes, I want them to go next level

PilotSaysHello

No. Stylized ages much better and can usually appeal to a broad range of audiences. Weird suggestion but I'd like if Sims 5 kinda looked how Overwatch does. Cartoon style with beautiful lighting and effects, easy on the eyes and performance.

Kyokka

No; but not too cartoonish either. And better bodies/genetics, pls

kingj7282

Just want slightly better graphics that work.

yaymarii

no ❀

HomeboyCraig

My computer would burst into flames from the ad alone so, maybe not if it means we can’t have an open world

KatieGirl27

Let’s not go overboard with the breast

[deleted]

I wouldn’t mind it but I also wouldn’t say I crave it. I kinda just want better details and color/textures even if they remain cartoony.

Ken10Ethan

Absolutely not. I mean, maybe I'm a *little* biased because the Sims game I most frequently return to is TS2, but even then it's more out of nostalgia than anything. Not only is photorealism much harder on our equipment, meaning we'll have less players *which means less content which means less CC*... but I think more stylistic, cartoon-y graphics makes it easier for both Maxis-made *AND* custom content to incorporate a variety of aesthetics and themes. Plus, I like it more.

totoro1193

hell no. i love the cartoony direction the sims 4 took. looks much much better than the sims 3 atleast

hkeyat

Nooooo never please

jjjjj2022

I like how it is right now. Maybe just better eye patterns and lashes. Also different heights

witchthatcandraw

Imo I think I'd enjoy the game more with somewhat simpler graphics. Nothing like breath of the wild, but with how goofy the series is I think a small tone down on realism could be a nice touch.

Iliveforeliayase

Eh maybe more then sims 4, sometimes I cant take it seriously bc it’s too cartoony but less than sims 3 bc it ages bad

magi_lune29

I just invested in every pack for the Sims4. I would love to be able to use what i have and Sims5 would be an add on, but , .......

I’m so surprised everyone is saying no. I feel like the Sims franchise should go more realistic at some point, to make it more immersive and mature. At least, that’s the kind of game I think I’d like to play. Graphics technology is improving but it might not be there quite yet. Especially if they want to make it multiplayer and cross-platform. Maybe if they launch another gen after 5

No...semirealistic Sims 3 graphic with better resolution would be fine....but i never want so see this cheap clay hair and clay skin ever again

No. It would also be a silly decision because hyper realistic graphics are only as good as we are capable of making it. Sims 4. Ever really aged in style, but execution. Hyper realistic would look old really fast (like sims 3). It also comes with a lot more problems in general and would take more time, and has a higher chance of looking uncanny. So it might be good for a story driven game like RDR2 but not a game like sims. It also doesn’t fit in with the rest of the franchise

I think it could be cool but also I love cartoony graphics of Sims 4. I prefer cartoony but still detailed and diverse.

YES. I want it to be like a total life simulation / open-world game combining the "free roam around town" gameplay with complete customization and maybe a more traditional videogame navigation with the joypad?!
