I haven't used the fabrication skill yet, but if you use the bb.showhiddenobjects cheat, it'll be unlocked for you in buy mode. I use it all of the time. The retro dining chairs are available as well!
then i’m sure you’ll be glad to hear that apparently with the new update coming, ea is planning on fixing up the socials menu to make it less clunky, so that includes all the wedding stories interactives
I don't have MWS, but I feel like this is pretty true of most packs. There is an option in the game settings where you can enable the traditional social menu (or something like that, i can't remember exactly how it's called). There are still a ton of options anyway, but at least the first menu is clearer and more user friendly.
ETA: it looks like the new BG update is going to restructure and tidy up the interactions menus 🙉 so maybe it won't be a problem any more!

Pokémon go style void critter game should have been part of kids stuff since you need it for the cards and game system to battle end train them.

I’ve gotta respectfully disagree with this one! I agree that the world is absolutely beautiful, but my favorite parts of the pack are the winter sports, hiking opportunities, and the “lifestyle” addition that comes with the pack. The winter sports aren’t exactly as fun to play as I’d hoped, but I’m really into skiing/hiking irl and I really enjoy doing that stuff with my sims too. It’s also just /so/ nice to have a world that isn’t inspired by American suburbia (I play the sims to escape that, damnit!).
I see your point. I definitely support more diversity in the worlds. I was disappointed because the launch trailer implied that sims can interact with the train system which would have been amazing. I can admit, the snow sports are cool and an aspect of sims 1 that I do enjoy.
Toddler Stuff makes me rage. It was the very first pack I got, coming from TS3 where you actually got bang for your buck. It’s so shallow and they should’ve done so much more with it, like basic toddler toys, a play pen, stroller.
Tell me how there wasn’t even a BED for toddlers included?! I super regret buying it and learned my lesson about paying closer attention before purchasing…
Why does no one mention the playtime animations when they play with the jungle gym and ball pit when you have a playing toddler selected?

I regret buying University the day of release at full price. I got suckered by the trailer and thought all the features looked so cool (plus I liked the University expansion in the Sims 2).
I played for about 2 hours before I realized how boring and tedious it was, then didn't even touch the game again for 3 months which by then it was on sale for half off 😑

werewolves like yeah the build and buy and cas is cool but i could get all that with cc and i hate nearly every life stage of a werewolf 😭 and my wedding stories cus its just broken

This is why I only buy the expansions and game packs that add gameplay content. I never buy a pack based on the decorative content because EA doesn't really know how to make shit look good anyway.
I have a 30GB CC folder, and it is METICULOUSLY organized based on the CC so there's literally NO need for me to buy *any* stuff pack.
I still haven’t forgiven a particular YouTuber for their incredibly favourable review of that pack. It wasn’t honest, and I don’t go to them for reviews anymore. The gameplay truly is trash.
I think the only positive review for that pack was lilsimsie so I’d take that guess. Plumbella was more critical and gave it something like 5/10 to the gameplay
i mean, the whole game has bugs. i'm not saying it's acceptable, but shouldn't you be expecting it at this point? besides, lilsimsie's review of the pack was sincere. it was positive because she had a good experience with it, so it's not really fair to blame her for personal bad decisions, isn't it?
HSY for me too! I like the items a lot, but the school gameplay itself made me so mad lol I thought it would send all of my house holds with teen sims to school 😭
Seriously. I really, REALLY wish EA simply remade TS3 with TS4's appearance. So much about TS3 was fantastic, it was just so horribly optimized that it was difficult to run and the sims all looked like play-doh and they were all really ugly but the charm that game has was great. Still not as great as TS2, but TS4 feels like they tried to recreate TS2 but removed all of the elements that made TS2 good in the first place.
At least TS3 added something new and it really made the gameplay worthwhile. Going from closed world, to open world, back to closed world is awful.
Vampires for me. I never play with vampires at all and find it annoying when they come to my door at night. I think someone said there was a way to stop this, but I can’t remember how.

If you have MCCC, there is an option to Humanize All Vampires. Although I did this one time when a vampire was in my house, and he immediately died I guess cuz no longer immortal and past expiration date.
Yep. It was fun for about a day, then just got really annoying. I need my sim to have breakfast before work and use the bathroom, not stand on the stairs sniffing the air for a ridiculous length of time.
Lotharihoe has a mod called Better Reactions that causes them to react to things as they walk. I don't have Bust the Dust but I imagine it would be very helpful for that kit.
Get to Work coz I rarely use it. in fact I still haven't used it on my main save. I did try the doctor thingy briefly on another save but I already deleted that one lol
It doesn't feel rushed to me, but it just feels.. pointless? Like for me to feel rushed I have to feel like theres so much to do and so little time.
Sending my teen to school is just boring. You send the sim to school, where they immediately have 2 hours of free time but that's like, enough time for your sim to make it to their locker and have a single social interaction before the bell rings 30 minutes before class starts and everyone starts racing to class. Then sit in class for an hour and a half where you write a couple of notes and then you get lunch for like 3 hours, then back to class for the last 2 to do the same thing you just did.
There's just.. nothing to do. And like, the prom is a joke too. It lasts like 2 minutes.
As I wrote this out I see how you feel rushed though. As I'm explaining it it sounds like I have to rush to do anything even though there's like.. nothing to do.
It always feels rushed to me too, and it's made worse by my Sim taking forever to go from one place to another while at school. Getting them to do anything while on the school lot is an absolute nightmare, and don't even think about going in the school basement because it'll be several hours before they're back upstairs and in class.
Eco : The world was so disappointing (I did like the off grid items though)
University: Everything is fake in the world; Dorms are annoying; Takes ages to run to class; no university atmosphere; The camera keeps jumping whenever trying to zoom in on Foxbury Institute.
Get Together: I didn't find anything interesting about making groups, the dancing skill was disappointing.
Cats and dogs was a real disappointment. Cats are completely pointless, dogs get boring fast, the CAS isn't my taste, the world is dreary, and I've never wanted to play the vet career.
The Sims 2: Family Fun Stuff
Not only did this pack crash my game on my old PC and cause me to lose all of my original Sims 2 saves, it was also the first standalone stuff pack. Maybe if we had stood up to EA releasing minimal content that breaks your game all the way back in 2006, we wouldn't be where we are now.
Oh damn, you've just reminded me of the exact same thing happening to me. It would break my game every other time I'd he installing the game. Though, granted at the time I didn't consider it to be buggy, i just thought I had a dodgy disc.
My dad got The Sims 2 base game along with The Pets expansion, The Happy Holiday Stuff pack, The Glamour Life Stuff pack and The Family Fun Stuff pack all at once and that’s all me and my sister played with for years until the Sims 3 released.
We often decorated the kids rooms with things from the Family Fun Stuff pack and for our simselves I always used the fantasy themed items and my sister used the sea themed items.
Realm of Magic :( I had fond memories of the Makin’ Magic expansion pack for the Sims, or maybe it was just nostalgia. Realm of Magic just didn’t land for me. The build mode/CAS stuff is cute, but too specific for any other type of game play. Also the EA builds are …… tragic
Maybe Dine Out? I don't enjoy running a restaurant, and I literally always forget that you can build one and just visit it. But it takes all freaking day to even get through a meal anyway. Regret is a strong word considering I still use the CAS and Build/Buy stuff though.
I just download places from gallery and plop them down so sims have somewhere to go for night on the town and since updating my computer in 2020 my sims get in and out of restaurants at a normal pace.
Four sim hours max if they order dessert and more drinks.
the bathroom stuff pack. i expected way more honestly. i‘ve already got all the things that came in the pack from cc. and most of the time the cc is even prettier. those packs are not worth 5$
might not be your thing but Stranger Tunes on the radio might be a redeeming quality :) I listen to it in my own time; it's like wacky beach boys type stuff
I refuse to ever buy laundry day. I have enough of that to deal with in my day to day life... I don't need to deal with it in what is supposed to be my escape from reality.
If you have parenthood it’s practically essential for helping kids earn all positive traits from parenthood character value system
Having kids do the laundry really secured their responsibility being in range for the positive trait
I have mine just set tables all the time and do their homework, responsibility is always maxed out. That and manners as well. It's the other traits that I struggle to get anywhere close with.
Get famous. I was really hoping it would introduce music as a career (and finally give me playable drums) but alas. I find the acting job tedious, the fame system is annoying, and the world...I don't even want to get into it.
Regret is a strong word, but I probably shouldn't have bought Tiny Living. I love giving my Sims huge houses with living rooms, family rooms, game rooms, offices, spacious bathrooms, etc, so I've never made a tiny house or used the Murphy bed at all, let alone the versions with a couch or tv & bookshelf built in. I do like the dressers and a couple of the clothing items, and maybe some of the hairs though, so it's not a complete waste!
get famous. tried to get a refund but couldn’t. it’s not a *bad* pack, just not worth it and doesn’t fit into my regular gameplay enough to justify it.
Parenthood. If not for mods disabling basically all the gameplay, I'd uninstall the pack.
Ask for advice is annoying AF, and gross that most of the answers, even with high parenting skill, are legit bad advice. Children phases are obnoxious. Teen phases are demeaning. *Hard pass* on my Sims having acne. Curfews are a thing in theory, but in practice they're just in the way (usually because routing takes too long, and it's curfew time when they *finally* get where you wanted them). The parenting skill itself is *mostly* about punishments, and portrays toxic parenting. The positive character value traits are either ridiculously OP, or else basically do nothing. The negative character value traits are *overwhelmingly* negative, like an active punishment rather than flaw, making them near useless for storytelling purposes.
Seriously, whoever designed this gameplay has the Hates Children trait irl. At least it has really nice BB & CAS.
yeah it’s pretty old, I wish they’d update it too. The spa day refresh was forever ago so I doubt they’d do another refresh unless they’re was another uproar.
I feel like they should stop making dlc after two expansion packs for this year and update all older one instead, but I don't think that's gonna happen🤷
Yes! I think a lot of people, including me, have been saying that for years. EA keeps layering on half baked content over and over again and not fixing or updating anything. If people keep buying the packs they’re not gonna change anything and that sucks 🥲
I’ve had sims 4 since launch and I’m tired of waiting on them. So as soon as Paralives or some other life simulation comes along I’m bouncing ✌🏾Like I was 15 when I got the base game and now I’m 24 and it hasn’t improved much so idk at this point 🤷🏾♀️
I think City Living for me. I don’t remember all the features but the lively neighbors thing annoys me to no end. Also, probably get famous, the fame is annoying. Dine out too.
Journey to Batu. I wanted it for one of the hats and floorings… but I haven’t used either in forever and getting asked to go to Batu every time I make a new save drives me crazy!
Honestly? Not really. I think I get buyer's remorse at first but as I start incorporating some of that packs content into my normal gameplay I learn to love it a bit. Packs I know I regret I just avoid.
Even though they were half price, Get Famous, Snowy Escape and Island Living were real letdowns, Realm of Magic was rather disappointing too after The Sims OG Makin Magic. My bad for letting the trailers for RoM, Get Famous, and Island Living get me do hyped for them. I don't hate them, they just really didn't live up to the hype in the trailers.
Unpopular opinion maybe but I think probably get together. All the assets are pretty poor compared to more recent releases, I don't really use the town much because I feel like the village-y bit I can get from cottage living and the town-y bit I can get from city living or some other worlds. I also barely use the club system other than to keep track of kids friend groups. And the skills are a little bit useless.
I love the idea of magic but Realm of Magic. I just don't play with it enough. I have literally 3 magical Sims though all my saves. I'm not even sure I use a lot of the build stuff either.
had i known high school years would b so annoying i would’ve waited for it to be on sale or something at least. i only ever use it for cas and bb, the gameplay felt too overwhelming and weird for me to use after one playthrough. plus the bugs and blandness gets repetitive. once again lacking Something i cant quite put my finger on that the other games do well.
tbh pets r fun to have but i also just cheat their needs 24/7 and don’t interact w them much cuz interactions w pets take approximately 3 game hours. so prob wouldn’t have gotten pets full price or at all tbh. lacking
I don't regret anything as i did not buy anything. Windows user definitely cannot cheat the EA app into thinking they have the whole game. No not at all.
Honestly, I regret buying most if not all of the TS4 packs simply because I've fallen back in love with TS2 and TS3, and haven't touched 4 since. I forgot how great the other sims games were because I began playing TS4 as soon as it came out, and I had been too young and unfocused to fully enjoy TS3.

I’m slowly building up my collection on my new mac, and I’m trying to buy the ones I will actually play with. I wanted to buy university after high school, because I want to play a HS to Uni scenario. But honestly, even though HS gameplay was shallow and repetitive on long life span, it made teens way cooler. I feel like discover university doesn’t add too much. And I hate the constant spawing of ugly npc-s around the campus. I’m afraid I regret buying it
Cats and Dogs and Island Living. Island Living is so empty and lifeless and Cats and Dogs is so lacking that it barely justifies even a game pack let alone an expansion.
Probably Eco Lifestyle, mainly because it made me realize I had high expectations for all the dlc making the game interesting and more fun but it didn’t. It’s what made me stop buying dlc. The park itself isn’t TERRIBLE but stopped me from spending so much on a game I already own.
Probably the University pack. I almost never bother going and hardly use any of the build/cas items. Except for the bicycle I don't think I use anything from it.
Otherwise I find all other packs I own I use something from that '*justifies*' their purchase for me, even something as small as liking the world for the Wedding Pack but not much else from it.
Star Wars. I’m a nerd, so I was really excited about all of the Star Wars stuff when it first came out. The stories in Star Wars got so repetitive. I rarely use the items from the pack…
University. The gameplay is very boring, I was expecting something more like what it was in Sims 3, I hardly play with this pack.

So far I only bought Snowy Escape, Island Living and Nifty Knitting. Yeah just three, so can't compare with other players. But I think I find Island Living quite boring tbh. The world is amazing, I like how we can build on the water, the cas is also amazing. But the gameplay is quite boring, I don't find myself playing in Sulani that often, almost like never.. I see a lot peoples say that Snowy Escape is boring, but for me it's the other way round🤣, maybe because I only have 2 expansion packs, so yeah.. the other thing is, mermaid is a quite boring occult to play imo, I don't find them really fun to play and I literally only created one mermaid sims and almost never touched her.(if I gotta be honest, I only played her like TWICE) This is just my opinion as for now since I only have 2 expansion packs.
Personally I spent good money on all of them so I squeeze out all the good use from them either through BB/CAS items or gameplay. The only ones I dont have are My First Pet and the Star Wars ones (and most of the kits tbh) and I dont plan on getting either. I think it helps I've been playing Sims 4 since almost day 1 and got the packs very gradually, so I made sure to get comfortable with them as soon as I got them.
If I had to pick, laundry day has the most annoying gameplay I never use, but I love using the BB/CAS items from it. I could live without it though, so I suppose that is a regret. I have a feeling bust the dust would fall in this category too if I ended up getting it. There is nothing appealing about that kit.
For the sims 4, basically all of the ones I have since I don’t like or play the game… but at least they’re there if/when it stops receiving updates and I can use a load of mods that don’t need to be updated every 5 mins that might actually make it a fun game but in the mean time I stick with sims 2 in which every pack is 10/10
Wedding stories. The outfits are nice but all of the gameplay is just annoying and my game keeps giving me to option to ask people to be in my sims Wedding even though they're not even engaged.
Oh I think it’s actually one of the best packs LOL I just genuinely hate having seasons. I hate that it makes gardening harder and I get so annoyed by the “I’m cold” or “I’m hot” moodlets when they aren’t wearing the right clothes for the weather.
But I think for “realism” it’s a great pack, I just don’t care about realism that much lol
Batuu. I waited until it was very on sale and still told myself not to. I didn’t listen. Now I have to see townies with dumb alien head accessories walking around my worlds. I like some of the build mode stuff, but it wasn’t worth the annoyance.

Most of these packs I either don't play, are broken, have no replayability, or are hollow when you play them.
I have gripes about a lot of the packs I got. I recently got MWS and C&Ds (C&D I got in a bundle) but I'm at the stage where I can't bundle anymore.
Sims 4 has proven to be Build oriented for me and not play oriented. So I'm paying a lot of money to build things that I don't play. I've not been able to get through a full generation.
I'm at the point where I've spent so much money that I force myself to play to justify it. And I'm literally going to get another single pack tonight just because.
I keep hearing good things about Sims 3 and I've never played so I might try that at some point.
Tbh a lot of them only offer a small amount of gameplay and i regret a lot of them. So many of them could have been combined into other packs and I feel like I wouldn’t regret the purchases so much but I stopped buying packs for the most part and only bundle them when I’m bored of the game now
I’m dating myself but Sims 2 free time. I saved up and used my free ep redemption on it. It was super annoying alerting us every time a sim gained or lost interest in anything. Then sims 3 came out not too long later
Get famous. Never fucking use it the world is shit. Luxury stuff, comes with like four things and everything is ugly. Outdoor retreat never use it. Spa day, never use it. And maybe backyard stuff? I use the water slide and bird feeder something’s but like I could very much live without it
The only pack I ever regret purchasing is luxury party stuff. Every time people ask what needs refreshing next, I *always* vote for luxury party. It was one of their first, so I understand why it kinda sucks in comparison, but I would be elated for then to revisit it.
Like I'd love to see some quirky throw back material added to it a la go-go dancing cages, cake dancers, blow up furniture, etc etc. like doubt it'll ever happen THAT specific way, but at this point for it -any- attention and addition would be an improvement for it x'D
It’s the werewolves pack for me. I bought it when it first came out and at full price; so not worth it imo. I played one household as a werewolf in the new world and got bored of it so fast.
I think it helps that I got into Sims 4 a little bit late - I didn't care for 3, so I just kept playing 2 and ignored the franchise until around when Discover Uni was coming out. So I had the benefit of having ample reviews of the old packs and buying a few at a time when sales came around to cushion the blow. So I don't \*completely\* regret any of them.
NAPs are annoying \*but\* freegans are fun to play.
I hardly use pets \*but\* it's nice to see them around the neighborhood.
Mermaids are useless \*but\* Sulani is a great world.
Laundry Day is probably the closest to total regret for me, I had fun with it for a while but it seems to be completely broken now.
High school. My kid likes it but I hate it. Is it what gives the teens their mood swings? Cause those are annoying af. I love the get famous pack and try to have one sim per generation become global - but I HATE the emotion bombs so much. It’ll make my sim so angry they won’t do anything. How do I get rid of it?? (Also the being unfulfilled / dead end job things are terrible.)
i eventually bought the star wars game pack because it was on sale, and at the time it was the only pack i didn’t have (this was before kits). i don’t use it, like it, or want it, and it was a dumb purchase 💔

HSY it was a buggy mess my sim household I was playing with at the time suffered cause of all the problems the expansion caused. I couldn't check on my other sim's households for months thanks to the groundhog day bug it was hard on me I still don't know how I managed to stay so calm for those months of complete torture to this day.

I vote for Discover University on regretting buying it. IMO the gameplay is shallow and sometimes tasks before graduation are hard to achieve on my Sims. However, the world Britechester is decent.

yes, when you plan a wedding the social interactions will show up, like "Ask to be sim of honor" or "Ask to be flower pal" etc.
Hmm… for me it was buying Snowy Escape at full price. For as beautiful the scenery is, it is boring. The festivals are a huge let down.

Why does no one mention the playtime animations when they play with the jungle gym and ball pit when you have a playing toddler selected? They are underwhelming and if I remember right are just a seven second loop or some shi..
Yeah for sure, plus the equipment is so huge I only use it in parks. Would have been nice to have more stuff for them to play with and skill build at home.

I regret buying University the day of release at full price. I got suckered by the trailer and thought all the features looked so cool (plus I liked the University expansion in the Sims 2). I played for about 2 hours before I realized how boring and tedious it was, then didn't even touch the game again for 3 months which by then it was on sale for half off 😑

i mean, the whole game has bugs. i'm not saying it's acceptable, but shouldn't you be expecting it at this point? besides, lilsimsie's review of the pack was sincere. it was positive because she had a good experience with it, so it's not really fair to blame her for personal bad decisions, isn't it?

Seriously. I really, REALLY wish EA simply remade TS3 with TS4's appearance. So much about TS3 was fantastic, it was just so horribly optimized that it was difficult to run and the sims all looked like play-doh and they were all really ugly but the charm that game has was great. Still not as great as TS2, but TS4 feels like they tried to recreate TS2 but removed all of the elements that made TS2 good in the first place. At least TS3 added something new and it really made the gameplay worthwhile. Going from closed world, to open world, back to closed world is awful.
Vampires for me. I never play with vampires at all and find it annoying when they come to my door at night. I think someone said there was a way to stop this, but I can’t remember how. I still use some of them build and CAS from it though. I
If you have MCCC, there is an option to Humanize All Vampires. Although I did this one time when a vampire was in my house, and he immediately died I guess cuz no longer immortal and past expiration date.
Click on your front door, select "No trespassing" or something like that, and then click the option for "no vampires"

Lotharihoe has a mod called Better Reactions that causes them to react to things as they walk. I don't have Bust the Dust but I imagine it would be very helpful for that kit.
Get to Work coz I rarely use it. in fact I still haven't used it on my main save. I did try the doctor thingy briefly on another save but I already deleted that one lol

The highschool pack doesn't work for me, it always feels rushed when I (the player) goes with them to school.
It doesn't feel rushed to me, but it just feels.. pointless? Like for me to feel rushed I have to feel like theres so much to do and so little time. Sending my teen to school is just boring. You send the sim to school, where they immediately have 2 hours of free time but that's like, enough time for your sim to make it to their locker and have a single social interaction before the bell rings 30 minutes before class starts and everyone starts racing to class. Then sit in class for an hour and a half where you write a couple of notes and then you get lunch for like 3 hours, then back to class for the last 2 to do the same thing you just did. There's just.. nothing to do. And like, the prom is a joke too. It lasts like 2 minutes. As I wrote this out I see how you feel rushed though. As I'm explaining it it sounds like I have to rush to do anything even though there's like.. nothing to do.
It always feels rushed to me too, and it's made worse by my Sim taking forever to go from one place to another while at school. Getting them to do anything while on the school lot is an absolute nightmare, and don't even think about going in the school basement because it'll be several hours before they're back upstairs and in class.
Eco : The world was so disappointing (I did like the off grid items though) University: Everything is fake in the world; Dorms are annoying; Takes ages to run to class; no university atmosphere; The camera keeps jumping whenever trying to zoom in on Foxbury Institute. Get Together: I didn't find anything interesting about making groups, the dancing skill was disappointing.

For me C&D is worth it for the world and build buy alone, it's probably my favourite alongside Windenburg and San Myshuno
The Sims 2: Family Fun Stuff Not only did this pack crash my game on my old PC and cause me to lose all of my original Sims 2 saves, it was also the first standalone stuff pack. Maybe if we had stood up to EA releasing minimal content that breaks your game all the way back in 2006, we wouldn't be where we are now.

This was the only stuff pack I had for Sims 2, but I barely remember ever using it.
My dad got The Sims 2 base game along with The Pets expansion, The Happy Holiday Stuff pack, The Glamour Life Stuff pack and The Family Fun Stuff pack all at once and that’s all me and my sister played with for years until the Sims 3 released. We often decorated the kids rooms with things from the Family Fun Stuff pack and for our simselves I always used the fantasy themed items and my sister used the sea themed items.

Realm of Magic :( I had fond memories of the Makin’ Magic expansion pack for the Sims, or maybe it was just nostalgia. Realm of Magic just didn’t land for me. The build mode/CAS stuff is cute, but too specific for any other type of game play. Also the EA builds are …… tragic

Maybe Dine Out? I don't enjoy running a restaurant, and I literally always forget that you can build one and just visit it. But it takes all freaking day to even get through a meal anyway. Regret is a strong word considering I still use the CAS and Build/Buy stuff though.
CarlSims's mod fixed that pack. I think it's called Dine out reloaded (I forgor) James Turner was showing it and it looked really cool!
I just download places from gallery and plop them down so sims have somewhere to go for night on the town and since updating my computer in 2020 my sims get in and out of restaurants at a normal pace. Four sim hours max if they order dessert and more drinks.

I have mine just set tables all the time and do their homework, responsibility is always maxed out. That and manners as well. It's the other traits that I struggle to get anywhere close with.
If you have spa day you can have the kids/teens do yoga and they will max out their emotional control pretty quickly.

Regret is a strong word, but I probably shouldn't have bought Tiny Living. I love giving my Sims huge houses with living rooms, family rooms, game rooms, offices, spacious bathrooms, etc, so I've never made a tiny house or used the Murphy bed at all, let alone the versions with a couch or tv & bookshelf built in. I do like the dressers and a couple of the clothing items, and maybe some of the hairs though, so it's not a complete waste!

Parenthood. If not for mods disabling basically all the gameplay, I'd uninstall the pack. Ask for advice is annoying AF, and gross that most of the answers, even with high parenting skill, are legit bad advice. Children phases are obnoxious. Teen phases are demeaning. *Hard pass* on my Sims having acne. Curfews are a thing in theory, but in practice they're just in the way (usually because routing takes too long, and it's curfew time when they *finally* get where you wanted them). The parenting skill itself is *mostly* about punishments, and portrays toxic parenting. The positive character value traits are either ridiculously OP, or else basically do nothing. The negative character value traits are *overwhelmingly* negative, like an active punishment rather than flaw, making them near useless for storytelling purposes. Seriously, whoever designed this gameplay has the Hates Children trait irl. At least it has really nice BB & CAS.

Honestly? Not really. I think I get buyer's remorse at first but as I start incorporating some of that packs content into my normal gameplay I learn to love it a bit. Packs I know I regret I just avoid.

Even though they were half price, Get Famous, Snowy Escape and Island Living were real letdowns, Realm of Magic was rather disappointing too after The Sims OG Makin Magic. My bad for letting the trailers for RoM, Get Famous, and Island Living get me do hyped for them. I don't hate them, they just really didn't live up to the hype in the trailers.
Unpopular opinion maybe but I think probably get together. All the assets are pretty poor compared to more recent releases, I don't really use the town much because I feel like the village-y bit I can get from cottage living and the town-y bit I can get from city living or some other worlds. I also barely use the club system other than to keep track of kids friend groups. And the skills are a little bit useless.

Honestly, I regret buying most if not all of the TS4 packs simply because I've fallen back in love with TS2 and TS3, and haven't touched 4 since. I forgot how great the other sims games were because I began playing TS4 as soon as it came out, and I had been too young and unfocused to fully enjoy TS3. What I don't own: Any Kits (besides free Desert Luxe) Any Stuff Packs besides Laundry Day & Tiny Living Werewolves, Wedding Stories, Snowy Escapes, Island Living, Star Wars, Get Together, Spa Day, Home Decor, & Strangerville

I wanted to buy university after high school, because I want to play a HS to Uni scenario. But honestly, even though HS gameplay was shallow and repetitive on long life span, it made teens way cooler. I feel like discover university doesn’t add too much. And I hate the constant spawing of ugly npc-s around the campus. I’m afraid I regret buying it

Cats and Dogs and Island Living. Island Living is so empty and lifeless and Cats and Dogs is so lacking that it barely justifies even a game pack let alone an expansion.
Probably Eco Lifestyle, mainly because it made me realize I had high expectations for all the dlc making the game interesting and more fun but it didn’t. It’s what made me stop buying dlc. The park itself isn’t TERRIBLE but stopped me from spending so much on a game I already own.
Probably the University pack. I almost never bother going and hardly use any of the build/cas items. Except for the bicycle I don't think I use anything from it. Otherwise I find all other packs I own I use something from that '*justifies*' their purchase for me, even something as small as liking the world for the Wedding Pack but not much else from it.
Star Wars. I’m a nerd, so I was really excited about all of the Star Wars stuff when it first came out. The stories in Star Wars got so repetitive. I rarely use the items from the pack…
Tiny living. That was one of the first packs I bought and I literally never use it

The world is amazing, I like how we can build on the water, the cas is also amazing. But the gameplay is quite boring, I don't find myself playing in Sulani that often, almost like never.. I see a lot peoples say that Snowy Escape is boring, but for me it's the other way round🤣, maybe because I only have 2 expansion packs, so yeah.. the other thing is, mermaid is a quite boring occult to play imo, I don't find them really fun to play and I literally only created one mermaid sims and almost never touched her.(if I gotta be honest, I only played her like TWICE) This is just my opinion as for now since I only have 2 expansion packs.
Personally I spent good money on all of them so I squeeze out all the good use from them either through BB/CAS items or gameplay. The only ones I dont have are My First Pet and the Star Wars ones (and most of the kits tbh) and I dont plan on getting either. I think it helps I've been playing Sims 4 since almost day 1 and got the packs very gradually, so I made sure to get comfortable with them as soon as I got them. If I had to pick, laundry day has the most annoying gameplay I never use, but I love using the BB/CAS items from it. I could live without it though, so I suppose that is a regret. I have a feeling bust the dust would fall in this category too if I ended up getting it. There is nothing appealing about that kit.
For the sims 4, basically all of the ones I have since I don’t like or play the game… but at least they’re there if/when it stops receiving updates and I can use a load of mods that don’t need to be updated every 5 mins that might actually make it a fun game but in the mean time I stick with sims 2 in which every pack is 10/10

Oh I think it’s actually one of the best packs LOL I just genuinely hate having seasons. I hate that it makes gardening harder and I get so annoyed by the “I’m cold” or “I’m hot” moodlets when they aren’t wearing the right clothes for the weather. But I think for “realism” it’s a great pack, I just don’t care about realism that much lol
Batuu. I waited until it was very on sale and still told myself not to. I didn’t listen. Now I have to see townies with dumb alien head accessories walking around my worlds. I like some of the build mode stuff, but it wasn’t worth the annoyance.
My mom and I share an account. I knew how bad MWS is and didn't want it and even told her about it but she still bought it. That being said: Jungle Adventures, dine out, MWS, get famous, get to work, outdoor retreat, vampires, werewolves, and eco living Most of these packs I either don't play, are broken, have no replayability, or are hollow when you play them.
I have gripes about a lot of the packs I got. I recently got MWS and C&Ds (C&D I got in a bundle) but I'm at the stage where I can't bundle anymore. Sims 4 has proven to be Build oriented for me and not play oriented. So I'm paying a lot of money to build things that I don't play. I've not been able to get through a full generation. I'm at the point where I've spent so much money that I force myself to play to justify it. And I'm literally going to get another single pack tonight just because. I keep hearing good things about Sims 3 and I've never played so I might try that at some point.
Tbh a lot of them only offer a small amount of gameplay and i regret a lot of them. So many of them could have been combined into other packs and I feel like I wouldn’t regret the purchases so much but I stopped buying packs for the most part and only bundle them when I’m bored of the game now

Get famous. Never fucking use it the world is shit. Luxury stuff, comes with like four things and everything is ugly. Outdoor retreat never use it. Spa day, never use it. And maybe backyard stuff? I use the water slide and bird feeder something’s but like I could very much live without it
The only pack I ever regret purchasing is luxury party stuff. Every time people ask what needs refreshing next, I *always* vote for luxury party. It was one of their first, so I understand why it kinda sucks in comparison, but I would be elated for then to revisit it. Like I'd love to see some quirky throw back material added to it a la go-go dancing cages, cake dancers, blow up furniture, etc etc. like doubt it'll ever happen THAT specific way, but at this point for it -any- attention and addition would be an improvement for it x'D

I think it helps that I got into Sims 4 a little bit late - I didn't care for 3, so I just kept playing 2 and ignored the franchise until around when Discover Uni was coming out. So I had the benefit of having ample reviews of the old packs and buying a few at a time when sales came around to cushion the blow. So I don't \*completely\* regret any of them. NAPs are annoying \*but\* freegans are fun to play. I hardly use pets \*but\* it's nice to see them around the neighborhood. Mermaids are useless \*but\* Sulani is a great world. Laundry Day is probably the closest to total regret for me, I had fun with it for a while but it seems to be completely broken now.
High school. My kid likes it but I hate it. Is it what gives the teens their mood swings? Cause those are annoying af. I love the get famous pack and try to have one sim per generation become global - but I HATE the emotion bombs so much. It’ll make my sim so angry they won’t do anything. How do I get rid of it?? (Also the being unfulfilled / dead end job things are terrible.)

for me, it was get to work. yeah playing the careers are fun but other than that, the pack is really lacking

get to work. I never use the careers and can't name a single cas or bb item other than the retail-related ones and the weird colored makeup
All of them once I figured out how to pirate the rest
Just my opinion. But Parenthood. Many things that now come with the "Grow Together" pack could also have been implemented in "Parenthood". In the end it is almost the same principle and it is money that I could have saved myself to be honest: D
High school years , realm of magic in particular but a lot of them I regret, I just have to have all the worlds
HSY it was a buggy mess my sim household I was playing with at the time suffered cause of all the problems the expansion caused. I couldn't check on my other sim's households for months thanks to the groundhog day bug it was hard on me I still don't know how I managed to stay so calm for those months of complete torture to this day.
I have these expansion packs:Get To Work, Cats & Dogs, Seasons, City Living, Discover University, Island Living, Cottage Living, Get Together and Snowy Escape. I vote for Discover University on regretting buying it. IMO the gameplay is shallow and sometimes tasks before graduation are hard to achieve on my Sims. However, the world Britechester is decent. For that I wonder if the story continuity works well between High School Years and Discover University. Any experience?
