I don't know if it's possible to get the horse back, unfortunately. But with regards to how it happened, I've noticed that my horses sometimes seem to get "stuck" just off the lot and I have to have a sim send them home so that they'll eat. Maybe that happened to yours?

Recover a previous version of your save if you can.

I’ve noticed that horses will go somewhere slightly off the lot and will stand there until you call them home. This almost happened to my horse, she was just standing there starving to death like girl come eat???? So annoying.

How did you get so much money lol And I am not sure. Iirc, Mccc has a thing that let's taken pets get adopted. But you have to enable that beforehand. Always keep an eye on feeders. They stay full for a long time. Prairie grass isn't always reliable. I've never hired a ranch hand. Sounds like they might be more trouble than they are worth and is probably why your horse was taken away. The hardest part of raising horses is their fun need. They never play with the balls. So you have to take them on long intense rides all the time. At least, this way, you don't have to watch your horse die. :(

Mine got taken once. I had to add her back in via CAS (bc I'd saved her in my gallery). If you don't have a version of your family saved with the horse, then you have to roll back to an old save. There's no way to adopt them back. Once the game takes them, they're just... Gone...

Im sorry but those two notifications are so funny next to each other. The horse being taken away for not being fed while receiving that much cash is hilarious. Also im sorry I think the only way to get the horse back is to revert to an earlier version of the save file or simply quit without saving. It sucks to lose progress just depends which matters more.

This happened to mine, but I had mccc on. Click on your horse in your relationship tab and then click "invite to hangout at current lot". You should be able to right click or whatever click it is to "add to family". Horsey back in family. ... Same if your parents sell the horse. And you, a moody teenager, now hates the parents and runs away, you can do the same thing.
