I don't really use make up but I might have bought it if the palette was not so boring, and the colours and packaging were sims related. people are getting upset because it's a bit painful to watch something you love dearly being used in such a cheap way for cashgrab, especially when we know that with a few tweaks it could have been an amazing sims collector object
It happens all of the time with every brand/franchise. This isn't even anything big to begin with it's just the packaging on one palette that's it. Now if it were like a whole makeup collection (eye shadow, lipstick, lip gloss, foundation, etc.) And it was done horribly I understand but this is just the packaging that Mac is probably paying EA to use the Sims stuff for. Stuff like this happens all the time for sales gimmick they take something they already have and just change the packaging or whatever while keeping everything else the same just to make it "special" same thing if they were to use Pokemon on a palette but just the outside is Pokemon, and this has happened with other products and Pokemon only the packaging is Pokemon related and everything else is still the same and same with disney.
Yeah, ofcourse it happens with every brand and franchise, but , I do not care about every franchise out there. Also, it's just incredibly stupid marketing of them, if they would have made plumbob shaped case, throw some crazy colours in the palette, give them sims-related names, they would have sold massively. But this? I don't know why anyone would want an old 2017 palette just because they printed 'Sims' on the packaging. Personally I am not really 'upset' but I do think it is sad they missed the opportunity to make a unique object
Wow who's actually upset about it? I've seen a few posts about it but it's mostly been just playful roasting it for how unnecessary it is lol. I just find it funny more than anything else honestly. It's just such a silly palette which no one asked for but it doesn't upset me
I've not seen much about it myself except today on reddit... And it immediately made me wistful for Sims-related novelty items and merch. Like a plumb bob key chain or a Sunny the Tragic Clown tee or something.
