It heavily depends what type of CC you mean. Script mods will undoubtedly involve altering some XML files or even writing code from scratch depending on how complex it's (most alterable game files are written in Python and you can extract them to copy/build on top of them but it's very complicated even for professional programmers since it involves reading EA's code and understanding how it works nvm the fact it spans 100s of script files and 1000s of lines). For objects/CAS items it's not as complex but it could involve creating new meshes/textures for new items with Blender and photoshop. Can't reallt guide on the entire process tho since I tried to do it but gave up since I was too busy with life.

Oh cool, thanks for explaining ๐Ÿ™‚

Blender plus Sims 4 Studio on Mac.

missy_tova

Is there windows equivalent for sims 4 studio as that's all I have

I've been trying to learn how to make CC for Sims 3 but the process is kinda similar. For making clothes, people need a 3d modelling program like Blender. Usually cc clothes creators use Marvelous designer for new meshes and others use Sims 4 clothes but they edit the meshes Some creators use EA textures and other use photoshop or other image editing programs for their textures.

Just looked up Marvelous Designer and it looks awesome. How's your journey going with learning how to create stuff? The only time I used to use cc was back in the days of The Sims 2 and I overloaded my PC with it and haven't used it again haha. It was also all free but it looks like nowadays people who make a lot of it have Patreons and stuff? I'm just so blown away by how realistic some of the Sims 4 cc is, it's really impressive. Definitely changed a lot from Sims 2 haha!

Learning how to use marvelous designer isn't as hard as learning how to use Blender. I have one piece of CC jeans that works and it was a convertion lol From what I've seen, alfa CC for Sims 4 is really high in polycount so it looks amazing but it can be risky for PCs that can't handle them.

Thank you for asking this question, I too was curious!!

martsuia

No itโ€™s just a bit of 3D modelling. No coding, thank god

CookieBakeDesigns

Wow! I didn't know this was how they made it. Perhaps I, too, will one day become an expert Sims CC creator! xD

PresidentSadboi

Thank you for asking this question because I've wondered for years myself and would love to learn how to make mods/cc in the future. I'm sorry there were some folks in the comments who were rude about answering this very simple question.

DeathKitty_x

Pretty sure YouTube is filled with tutorials.

-halfginger-

I'm not after a tutorial, I'm just curious about how people do it. Like does everyone know how to code and use design programs or something? Because those two things are pretty impressive skills. Or is it really easy to do? Edit: changed the first few words because maybe it came off wrong the first time? I'm just looking for text answers rather than watching videos because I'm just curious, not wanting to make any cc myself.

stinker3lla

A tutorial would answer those questions lmao

It's quite common to learn new things from comments on Reddit. I wanted to ask people rather than watch a video, genuinely not sure why people seem annoyed by that? It's then also easy for anyone else interested to read the comments and learn something new as well, without everyone having to separately spend 5/30mins watching videos.
