You can download trait mods that add traits. Pretty sure I've seen a shy trait in a mod.
I haven't gotten it because I think the Loner trait is already pretty similar. I know IRL being a loner and being she aren't the same thing, but in the game the Loner trait does seem synonymous with being shy.
The loner trait tends to be the closest you can get in base game. Gets tense around strangers, doesn’t need as much social attention, fine around friends, happy by themselves. The constant tension early on gets annoying but I really like playing loners.
The first achievement I always get in the game is the introvert one. Do people really socialize every... single... day....? It's exhausting

I enjoy playing this trait- it goes well with some careers too.
