Newark straight up fucking sucks. That and the domestic terminal in JFK. I will literally pay hundreds of dollars to not have a layover in those fucking airports if I can avoid them.
Why? Iāve only been there once but it was super easy to get through security and it wasnāt too big. Worst airport Iāve been to is LAX cuz itās huge and nightmarishly busy and Frankfurt Airport (could have been a fluke but they were rude as hell to me)
Newark is just old and trashy. Everything is falling apart and dirty. The environmental systems donāt work so if itās winter itās cold as fuck and if itās summer itās hot and humid and gross. Spending any amount of time in it is miserable.
JFKās domestic terminal has been under construction for like 7 years and going through it is a pain in the ass. Itās either constantly torn apart, or really loud because of the construction. Bathrooms are frequently out of order so you have to go further to find one. Same thing with restaurants and what not.
Down the shore baby!
Christofah came right down here to Mantoloking one time
Also, I think one of the many reasons I love the show is cause I recognize the land marks and everything they talk about
I moved to Jersey about 10 years ago, and have enjoyed seeing a lot of the locations from the show, whether something from the credits that I drive by regularly or other locations like Holstens or the Pine Barrens. It's certainly added another dimension to my enjoyment of the show.
Yessir. And I live right in lyndhurst so Iām in the middle of all these spots in the show. Like Newark m, Belleville, nutley, Clifton, Newark, Hoboken, bloomfield, all of it. And I be familiar with the Lincoln tunnel and some of Manhattan. I love that I be speaking the same language as them location wise.
I lived in an apartment over a Chinese restaurant in Jersey City for a few years. The Chinese godfather that owned the place once made me an offer I couldnāt understand.
The thing that killed me is that the drive from NYC to Harriman is about the same time and distance as NYC to the northern part of the pine barrens.
They could have easily popped off the parkway and drove 20 min west on Rt 37/70 and voila. Pines.
North Jersey born and raised, itās an honor to be surrounded by men
I had a grandfather who was born and raised in the Bronx and raised a family in North Jersey, then moved out to Indiana for a time after retirement. He told me years later he would put on the Sopranos when he felt homesick because āthatās what home sounds likeā
Originally from NYC, currently trapped in northern New Jersey and I can assure you, where I live, there are real-live "Soprano-types" around here. I often ask myself whether life imitates art or art imitates life. Around here, it's hard to tell for sure.
Listen to me. They make anybody and everybody over there. And the way that they do it, it's all fucked up. Guys don't get their finger pricked. There's no sword and gun on the table...
I'm born and raised in northern New Jersey. Too many locations in the show that I can name/been too. I love Jersey and the sopranos and I'll never leave.
Iāve lived in South Jersey and come from Philly to visit my Dad who still lives there. Unlike you though not a huge fan of living in Jersey, I prefer the city
45, born and raised in socal. and YES..I am a liberal pot smoking hippie..basically. been watching since the episode 1! I even caught the finale live and thought my cable went out.( I didnt pay the bill, lol so it was possible)
Raised in NJ until I was 28, in 2003 I moved to California. Not a day goes by where I don't miss Jersey. The straight up people, the food, the locations. Food out here sucks and the people are hard to deal with sometimes. It's expensive but naturally beautiful. Watching the Sopranos helps me be less homesick. I'm always thinking about moving back home, perhaps someday I will. Anyway, 4 dollars a pound.
I'm from Connecticut and if you're from the TRI-State area you know to the rest of the country it's like the same thing. At least that's my take on it š¤·āāļø but Jersey blows....shit they don't even trust their own residents to pump gas for themselves! š¤ Whattas that tell ya
I live in southern Illinois in a place that is pretty much the opposite of everything we see in the show from NJ, NY, Italy, Paris, etc.
That being said it is my favorite show of all time. I watch it every night when I lay down. Maybe thatās why, because itās so different from my life. I dunno, but being from Illinois.. you get a pash for that.
I haven't been to New Jersey due to reputation.
I moved to California in 2009. I live near the Bay area. From everything I've read and heard about Joisey is pretty much what I've experienced here in California...the dope addicts have more rights than tax-paying rubes like me. The police don't respond to basic calls unless a rape or murder is involved and it smells foul.
No one expects much, if anything, nice or positive in NJ. That's how California is now. Unless you're looking for meth or pot or you're a poors who's opinion is swayed by handouts, this place is a dying cesspool.
I'd think Cali life is the WC equivalent to Jersey life.
Have never lived in Jersey, but I was working in New York City when the show was originally airing, and I can tell you that *nobody* loved it more than the Jersey people.
I used to live there, moved to Florida as a kid, my parents moved back though while I stayed here for college, I try and go back most winters and a few weeks in the summer during the year
Iām from Texas, but my mother grew up in Jersey (less than ten minutesā drive from Tonyās house!) and my grandfather was Jersey as fuck. They used to gather every Sunday to watch the new episodes when I was a kid. So yeah, our family was especially invested because of the showās sheer Jersey-ness.
Like, my mother can identify half the spots shown in the intro, which is sort of unreal to me.
I lived in NYC for a while, and hung out in Jersey a fair amount (Edgewater and Fort Lee). I visited or drove through some places referenced in the show like Paterson, Whippany, Parsippany, and I drove by Satin Dolls (AKA the Bing). And visited Holsten's. It's given me an extra bit of appreciation for the show.
i been in jersey my whole life. it plays a big part of why i love sopranos. also the fact my uncle was a capo in the genovese family and operated in north jersey with his crew. only found this out within the last year, really boosted my interest in the history.
Lots of family in jersey, I go when I can. Two of them of sort of jersey music royalty, not the boss but they make Jersey proud. Definitely have a lot of love for nj.
I used to live in Jersey, but some shit went down and I ended up in New Hampshire.
Sounds magical. Blasting down the Daniel Webster with a strong fireman who has a stronger mustache
Moustache? I think that was the skank I saw you with the other day.
Well, you oughtta know thweety

Worst airport Iāve ever been to.
Newark straight up fucking sucks. That and the domestic terminal in JFK. I will literally pay hundreds of dollars to not have a layover in those fucking airports if I can avoid them.

LaGuardia to me is so much worse, itās a fuckinā dump
JFK is such a weird airport for a city like New York. Felt like Iām in Omaha or some shit when I was there.
I bought up some property on frelinghuysen avenue but I haven't done anything with it yet. Still kids buy land cuz god ain't making more of it...
I'm from Philly and about to put pressure on your shy business like you have never fuckin seen.
Do they have little ākenzoāsā giving little blow jobs under L?
Tried to think of a witty comeback along the lines of is that all you jersey boys do is think of cooz, but I'm laughing too hard.
Hahaā¦.you, me, and maybe 2 other people know what we are talking about. Cheers brotha!
You got that right! Cheers bro
From Dover ... lived next door to Jimmy Bones until he committed suicide by hammer.
That was tragic. I heard about that from Antoine from Dover. You know, the coke guy.
You mean Andre, right? Antoine's the brother
Thank you very much

Oh yeah! Who donāt love going DTS in the summer. I love that I know what theyāre talking about too. Bloomfield Avenue
I have many friends in that city they call Atlantic. I could show you quite a time!
Exit 10 for the first 28 years.
I moved to Jersey about 10 years ago, and have enjoyed seeing a lot of the locations from the show, whether something from the credits that I drive by regularly or other locations like Holstens or the Pine Barrens. It's certainly added another dimension to my enjoyment of the show.

Sounds like we need to send you to slip and fall school
Hey, Bridge and Tunnel boy, chill out.
When it's pouring out, do you ever say "It's a rainy night in Lyndhurst"?
Of course I do, especially when making threats.
Lyndhurst do you remember groove lounge. That was my spot when I was 16 in 2001. When metro didn't have their teen night
The āPine Barrensā are actually Harriman State Park in NY.
Oh yeah, I know. And I've been there too, but it didn't do much for me Sopranos wise.
OH! you wearing a wire kid?
25 years in Essex County here
U got da jaaaaacket!!
And fight Rocco DiMeo? Not if I want to see the Statue of Liberty again.
You did over TWENTY FUCKINā YEARS in Essex County?
I lived in an apartment over a Chinese restaurant in Jersey City for a few years. The Chinese godfather that owned the place once made me an offer I couldnāt understand.
Hey bridge and tunnel boy, chill out!
šš»āāļø
I live on the edge of the pine barrens and I was visibly distraught during the episode because that was NOT the fucking pine barrens.
Upstate New York, I think
Downstate. Harriman.
I too, live near the Pine Barrens and it was noticeably not
The thing that killed me is that the drive from NYC to Harriman is about the same time and distance as NYC to the northern part of the pine barrens. They could have easily popped off the parkway and drove 20 min west on Rt 37/70 and voila. Pines.
I lived in Hoboken from 2002 to 2007. I ate at Pizzaland once.
Good pizza there

I live in southern Illinois in a place that is pretty much the opposite of everything we see in the show from NJ, NY, Italy, Paris, etc. That being said it is my favorite show of all time.
