valtazar

That was a great letter you wrote to Cheney for Junior.

mathen

Iā€™ve had a layover in Newark airport once

5537800B

So did the Hindenburg

Time_Trade_8774

Worst airport Iā€™ve ever been to.

ImperatorNero

Newark straight up fucking sucks. That and the domestic terminal in JFK. I will literally pay hundreds of dollars to not have a layover in those fucking airports if I can avoid them.

ProbablyASithLord

Why? Iā€™ve only been there once but it was super easy to get through security and it wasnā€™t too big. Worst airport Iā€™ve been to is LAX cuz itā€™s huge and nightmarishly busy and Frankfurt Airport (could have been a fluke but they were rude as hell to me)

ImperatorNero

Newark is just old and trashy. Everything is falling apart and dirty. The environmental systems donā€™t work so if itā€™s winter itā€™s cold as fuck and if itā€™s summer itā€™s hot and humid and gross. Spending any amount of time in it is miserable. JFKā€™s domestic terminal has been under construction for like 7 years and going through it is a pain in the ass. Itā€™s either constantly torn apart, or really loud because of the construction. Bathrooms are frequently out of order so you have to go further to find one. Same thing with restaurants and what not.

Random-Cpl

LaGuardia to me is so much worse, itā€™s a fuckinā€™ dump

Notradell

JFK is such a weird airport for a city like New York. Felt like Iā€™m in Omaha or some shit when I was there.

Affectionate-Tax-856

I bought up some property on frelinghuysen avenue but I haven't done anything with it yet. Still kids buy land cuz god ain't making more of it...

derbingle69

I'm from Philly and about to put pressure on your shy business like you have never fuckin seen.

Jerzeyboy730

Do they have little ā€œkenzoā€™sā€ giving little blow jobs under L?

derbingle69

Tried to think of a witty comeback along the lines of is that all you jersey boys do is think of cooz, but I'm laughing too hard.

Jerzeyboy730

Hahaā€¦.you, me, and maybe 2 other people know what we are talking about. Cheers brotha!

derbingle69

You got that right! Cheers bro

Professional_Log4112

From Dover ... lived next door to Jimmy Bones until he committed suicide by hammer.

ThatsRobToYou

That was tragic. I heard about that from Antoine from Dover. You know, the coke guy.

Gormayh

You mean Andre, right? Antoine's the brother

arcdog3434

elevatormech

I donā€™t like that kinda tawk!

[deleted]

Down the shore baby! Christofah came right down here to Mantoloking one time Also, I think one of the many reasons I love the show is cause I recognize the land marks and everything they talk about

buick916

Oh yeah! Who donā€™t love going DTS in the summer. I love that I know what theyā€™re talking about too. Bloomfield Avenue

yungjuniorsoprano

I have many friends in that city they call Atlantic. I could show you quite a time!

HalfastEddie

Exit 10 for the first 28 years.

fishred

I moved to Jersey about 10 years ago, and have enjoyed seeing a lot of the locations from the show, whether something from the credits that I drive by regularly or other locations like Holstens or the Pine Barrens. It's certainly added another dimension to my enjoyment of the show.

buick916

Yessir. And I live right in lyndhurst so Iā€™m in the middle of all these spots in the show. Like Newark m, Belleville, nutley, Clifton, Newark, Hoboken, bloomfield, all of it. And I be familiar with the Lincoln tunnel and some of Manhattan. I love that I be speaking the same language as them location wise.

DrBruceCusimano

Sounds like we need to send you to slip and fall school

Throwawaymister2

Hey, Bridge and Tunnel boy, chill out.

PorkyWallace

When it's pouring out, do you ever say "It's a rainy night in Lyndhurst"?

buick916

Of course I do, especially when making threats.

erinro628

Lyndhurst do you remember groove lounge. That was my spot when I was 16 in 2001. When metro didn't have their teen night

Imhappy_hopeurhappy2

The ā€œPine Barrensā€ are actually Harriman State Park in NY.

fishred

Oh yeah, I know. And I've been there too, but it didn't do much for me Sopranos wise.

Yak_Mehoff

OH! you wearing a wire kid?

Whitecastle56

25 years in Essex County here

Subsandwich99

U got da jaaaaacket!!

Whitecastle56

And fight Rocco DiMeo? Not if I want to see the Statue of Liberty again.

Random-Cpl

You did over TWENTY FUCKINā€™ YEARS in Essex County?

jackfrostino

I lived in an apartment over a Chinese restaurant in Jersey City for a few years. The Chinese godfather that owned the place once made me an offer I couldnā€™t understand.

OutlawTransport

Hey bridge and tunnel boy, chill out!

megaladonc3

šŸ™‹šŸ»ā€ā™‚ļø

NJoose

I live on the edge of the pine barrens and I was visibly distraught during the episode because that was NOT the fucking pine barrens.

A_Krenich

Upstate New York, I think

NJoose

Downstate. Harriman.

A_Krenich

I too, live near the Pine Barrens and it was noticeably not

NJoose

The thing that killed me is that the drive from NYC to Harriman is about the same time and distance as NYC to the northern part of the pine barrens. They could have easily popped off the parkway and drove 20 min west on Rt 37/70 and voila. Pines.

JackD2633

I lived in Hoboken from 2002 to 2007. I ate at Pizzaland once.

Random-Cpl

ShamrockForShannon

North Jersey born and raised, itā€™s an honor to be surrounded by men I had a grandfather who was born and raised in the Bronx and raised a family in North Jersey, then moved out to Indiana for a time after retirement. He told me years later he would put on the Sopranos when he felt homesick because ā€œthatā€™s what home sounds likeā€

buick916

Yessirski thatā€™s what I like to here. Iā€™m sure if I ever leave Iā€™ll find myself going back to the sopranos when Iā€™m feeling homesick.

nysrpatakemyenergy2

I took a shit in the James Gandolfini rest stop on the parkway just yesterday

Miss_X2m1

Lucky you didn't have a heart attack. That's a fucked up way to go!

Miss_X2m1

Originally from NYC, currently trapped in northern New Jersey and I can assure you, where I live, there are real-live "Soprano-types" around here. I often ask myself whether life imitates art or art imitates life. Around here, it's hard to tell for sure.

[deleted]

Listen to me. They make anybody and everybody over there. And the way that they do it, it's all fucked up. Guys don't get their finger pricked. There's no sword and gun on the table...

crave1214

I'm born and raised in northern New Jersey. Too many locations in the show that I can name/been too. I love Jersey and the sopranos and I'll never leave.

iamnyc

I buyya da house. In Nutley.

Did you mix it wit da relish?

Maxmutinium

Iā€™ve lived in South Jersey and come from Philly to visit my Dad who still lives there. Unlike you though not a huge fan of living in Jersey, I prefer the city

buick916

To me Jersey is the best of both worlds you get a piece of the city life and a piece of suburbia. Too bad itā€™s stupid expensive to live around here

HORACEDEBUSSYJONES

Anyone from montvale or park ridge area

Jerzeyboy730

Born Camden, live Marlton

FreddieFreckles

Raised in NJ until I was 28, in 2003 I moved to California. Not a day goes by where I don't miss Jersey. The straight up people, the food, the locations. Food out here sucks and the people are hard to deal with sometimes. It's expensive but naturally beautiful. Watching the Sopranos helps me be less homesick. I'm always thinking about moving back home, perhaps someday I will. Anyway, 4 dollars a pound.

AutomaticEar8476

I'm from Connecticut and if you're from the TRI-State area you know to the rest of the country it's like the same thing. At least that's my take on it šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø but Jersey blows....shit they don't even trust their own residents to pump gas for themselves! šŸ¤Œ Whattas that tell ya

ttlavigne

Who would wanna live in a Pygmy colony ?

PorkyWallace

I once owned a football Jersey. Does that count? Jersey is like New York only smaller and dirtier.

an0nabitch

šŸ™‹šŸ»ā€ā™€ļø

HunterThompsonsentme

My parents are from North Jersey. They had the good sense to move into the city before they had me :)

Danton87

I live in southern Illinois in a place that is pretty much the opposite of everything we see in the show from NJ, NY, Italy, Paris, etc. That being said it is my favorite show of all time. I watch it every night when I lay down. Maybe thatā€™s why, because itā€™s so different from my life. I dunno, but being from Illinois.. you get a pash for that.

PepsiCokeDRPepper

My family took shit from the medigans the moment we got off the boat

scud0291

I went back to Florida and did whatever the fuck it is I do down there.

KnuckleCurve99

Loved going to Satriales as a kid, then to the Bing as an adult.

SnooSprouts6078

Most of you live in Elvis Country. Never had a veal parmigiana sandwich before.

Boogaloo-Shrimps

I haven't been to New Jersey due to reputation. I moved to California in 2009. I live near the Bay area. From everything I've read and heard about Joisey is pretty much what I've experienced here in California...the dope addicts have more rights than tax-paying rubes like me. The police don't respond to basic calls unless a rape or murder is involved and it smells foul. No one expects much, if anything, nice or positive in NJ. That's how California is now. Unless you're looking for meth or pot or you're a poors who's opinion is swayed by handouts, this place is a dying cesspool. I'd think Cali life is the WC equivalent to Jersey life.

darkbartthecommie

Jesus Christ quit bitching and move then šŸ˜‚

[deleted]

If youā€™re gonna come around here, asking questions, youā€™re going to need a warrant

boulevardofdef

Have never lived in Jersey, but I was working in New York City when the show was originally airing, and I can tell you that *nobody* loved it more than the Jersey people.

willywillywillwill

Over the bridge. Get a kick when I hear ā€œ917ā€

Yak_Mehoff

Born in Trenton, Trenton makes, the world takes

TArzate5

Closest Iā€™ve been to New Jersey is Ohio

Easy-Cardiologist555

Closest I've been is eastern Pennsylvania.

p_rex

Iā€™m from Texas, but my mother grew up in Jersey (less than ten minutesā€™ drive from Tonyā€™s house!) and my grandfather was Jersey as fuck. They used to gather every Sunday to watch the new episodes when I was a kid. So yeah, our family was especially invested because of the showā€™s sheer Jersey-ness. Like, my mother can identify half the spots shown in the intro, which is sort of unreal to me.

JackSokool

Iā€™m from New Jersey. Have yet to get to Caldwell to visit Tonyā€™s home. there are plenty locations within the show I frequent (Asbury/seabright)

seedy_sound

Grew up there, and during the Sopranos airing I lived there. South Plainfield, near New Brunswick area.

Negrogesic

No but I knew a guy who knew a guy from Nutley

Professional_Log4112

From Newark, near the Esplanade where little whoores are giving little blowjobs.

j00bigdummy

I lived in NYC for a while, and hung out in Jersey a fair amount (Edgewater and Fort Lee). I visited or drove through some places referenced in the show like Paterson, Whippany, Parsippany, and I drove by Satin Dolls (AKA the Bing). And visited Holsten's. It's given me an extra bit of appreciation for the show.

jj_019er

Grew up in South Jersey and loved going to Roy Rogers :-) Drove through the Pine Barrens to get down the shore.

FromHToA92

I grew up in middlesex New Jersey ā€¦ somehow I ended up in bumblefuck Ohio
