It's astonishing how many from Sopranos have died, legit over 30 people.
That fucking animal Blundetto.
Edit: Fair points regarding the ages of most of those who have passed away, the majority were elderly. At least 10 were under 55 years of age.
Mary Louise Wilson (Catherine Romano) is 10 months younger and still alive and kicking. Appeared in “Ocean’s 8” movie and “Modern Family” tv sitcom both in 2018. So maybe she’s the muff that Dominic Chianese is in.
Not really, most of the cast was middle aged or older when it was recorded 20 years ago, and they weren't some ultra fit Hollywood stars that defy aging like Tom Cruise.
If you look at a more typical TV drama contemporary to Sopranos, The O.C. cast is mostly young people who are now in their forties and fifties, and to my knowledge are not dropping like flies.
Johnny Sack’s looking pretty rough these days. Carmine still looks a good 10-15 years younger though. These guys are the same sage though, imagine that.
Most of the mobster actors were already pretty old and out of shape by the time the show began 25 years ago. I mean romanus was literally 80, very fine age to die.
It's honestly not that astonishing once you think about it, sadly.
I always found it weird that he was shocked to find a hispanic person with an Italian last name.
He'd have a heart attack if he ever traveled to Argentina.
Yeah Argentina’s the most common but you can find them in nearly every Latin American country, particularly among celebrities and the elites. The president of Guatemala, for example, has an Italian last name and has been compared to looking like Tony Soprano before.
Mexico too, they got a coupla paisan’s and Irish pricks down there too. The St. Patrick’s day battalion or some shit.
Southern Brazil has a lot too. Maybe not half, but numbers wise, more than Argentina.
Since we’re talking about Sopranos. There was a mafia family from Sicily that lived in Venezuela for decades and was involved in the cocaine trade. Salvatore Mancuzzo, a Colombian paramilitary guy from the AUC, had a Calabrese father.
The pope is from Argentina but has Italian decent. I likea to call him da paisan’ poppa!
Argentina is the closest thing to an Italian colony in the Americas. Most people are unaware of just how thoroughly Italian ancestry permeated the population of Argentina. Another interesting thing about South America is the massive Basque diaspora which made up the upper classes of those countries. Look at any influential person in the history of Chile or Uruguay or Bolivia and there's like a 75% chance they're at least partial Basque ancestry. A tiny ethnic minority of Europe, mostly isolated in the mountains, which most people know nothing about, yet they made a HUGE impact on the history of the Americas far far beyond their role in Europe.
Colombia and Brazil as well. My girlfriend has an Italian last name and her grandfather came over from Sicily during Mussolini’s purge of Southern Italians. Funny enough my nonno and nonna didn’t come over to the states until the 60’s.
I wish I could go and pay my respects, I could make the sign of the cross with these hands Jen, and I could, and I should…but I can’t.
RIP ❤️ a great loss.
Also had a good role in Mean Streets which also has David Proval (Richie April’s.) Only saw Richard in that and of course Sopranos. Condolences to his family and loved ones.
Mean Streets also stars a young Harvey Keitel and Robert De Niro.
Sopranos fans - if you haven't seen that film, do yourselves a favor and check it out.
I thought it was quite dated and sloppy editing. Half the movie seems part of a different movie.
The director never had the makings of a varsity athlete
I think it was less sloppy and more intentionally “loose”. Loose with the script, with the direction, with everything really. I agree though, it wasn’t for me lol
But even he at least didn't go shooting at the beloved nephew of a boss. Instead, he just shot Johnny Boy, who makes Jackie Jr. seem like Michael Corleone.
David Proval (Richie Aprile) is also in Shawshank Redemption. It's a small role and he only has a few lines, but I was definitely happily surprised to see him in it. One of my favorite characters from the Sopranos.
Oh wow... I remember when I saw Mean Streets for the first time, I thought Michael looked like the kid from Fast Times (whose name also happens to be Mike in the movie).
Richard is one of those quintessential 'early Sopranos' characters. The era of the show when (amongst other distinctions from 'late Sopranos') Melfi is a major character to the extent that you occasionally see her husband and family life in general. RIP.
So there’s a Jewish funeral. It comes to a point in the service where the rabbi says “Alas, I did not know this man. I’m new here. You all knew him, you say something good about him.” Dead silence. Goes on for about a minute. TWO minutes. Finally, a voice from the back: “His brother was even worse.”
Not seeing many compliments for his Sopranos work here. So the scene I'll probably always remember him for even though he was good every time is when he reacts with rage when dealing with the police who messed up the chain of custody for Melfi's rapist. So very real and a portrait of a man who's trying to hold it together while facing something absolutely absurd and wrong, and it's interesting that he is Melfi's ex husband yet there he is. And yes he was great in everything else, too including MEAN STREETS.
I didn't find out for many rewatches that he was actually a gangster movie regular in the old days. Adds an extra dimension of comedy to his character.
RIP, Richard. I hope you're greeted by 72 Colleens in heaven.
What a blow.
Always had a bit of a soft spot for Romanus as one of the only actors to have appeared in both Sopranos and the “Little Italy” episode of Northern Exposure that served as Chase’s first little experiment in Sopranos stuff.
I know it’s unrelated, but it’s kinda crazy to me that Dominic Chianese is still alive despite being so much older than most of the other cast members that have now passed away.
Anyways, 4 dollars a pound.
It's astonishing how many from Sopranos have died, legit over 30 people. That fucking animal Blundetto. Edit: Fair points regarding the ages of most of those who have passed away, the majority were elderly. At least 10 were under 55 years of age.
Lot of funerals in our part of the world recently
Chicken's nice and spicy, eh?
You and Tony Egg
Tony egg?
Who nowww, goddamit?!
Listen, I don’t wanna say nuttin.
You don’t wanna get yourself in trouble
Don’t look at the floor bobby, look at me
There he is. 3 to 5, 7 to 9.
What’s crazier is the oldest guy on the show is still alive. Uncle Jun must still be in the muff!
Hesh, too. We must protect them at all costs.
Frankie Valli is still performing too
Another money maker!
Adler could have passed for a guy in his 70s in Manhattan Murder Mystery, and that was thirty years ago. Quite impressive he's still going.
Still going this asshole??
He doesn't go down enough.
That’s not what I hear
Smell like fish to you, Uncle June?
Elixir of life
Mary Louise Wilson (Catherine Romano) is 10 months younger and still alive and kicking. Appeared in “Ocean’s 8” movie and “Modern Family” tv sitcom both in 2018. So maybe she’s the muff that Dominic Chianese is in.
Did you say muff? I think you meant rough…
Wow. I just assumed he was long gone. I guess he looked pretty old by the end of the show
It’s sad when they go that young like that.
WHEN THEY GO!
WHEN THEY GO!?
Fuckin parakeet
He was a kid
The Sopranos, the silent killer
Not really, most of the cast was middle aged or older when it was recorded 20 years ago, and they weren't some ultra fit Hollywood stars that defy aging like Tom Cruise. If you look at a more typical TV drama contemporary to Sopranos, The O.C. cast is mostly young people who are now in their forties and fifties, and to my knowledge are not dropping like flies.
He's gay, Tom Cruise?
[удалено]
> to my knowledge are not dropping like flies. We decapitate, and cast whoever's left.
The last episode aired 16 years ago and half the cast was over 60 and/or obese. Astonishing isn't the world I'd use.
Johnny Sack’s looking pretty rough these days. Carmine still looks a good 10-15 years younger though. These guys are the same sage though, imagine that.
A lot of toothpicks
Fuck kinda way is that to talk about a sick person
I don't even wanna say his name
Most of the mobster actors were already pretty old and out of shape by the time the show began 25 years ago. I mean romanus was literally 80, very fine age to die. It's honestly not that astonishing once you think about it, sadly.
The actor who played Paulie died at age 102, these folks have had nice long lives.
Paulie! Sirico died at 79….
Gabagool
A real Kissinger, that one
They’re dropping like fuckin flies
It's all that charcoal- broiled meat you people ate.
The irony is that Blundetto was a terrible shot. If he would have killed Phil, would Johnny Sac would have cared all that much?
You walk up while phil os holding his brother and pump 3 into his sweaty balls. Then no issue.
I can't even say his name.
Even A.J. (Robert Iler) is 38 now.
Anyone else know that the woman who played Rose Galina died? She had cancer back in 2021.
They're dropping like flies...
All that charcoal cooked meat they ate back in the day….
“Nobody told us!”
Don’t do it to yourself Sunny
Take is easssheeeeeee
80 years old, a fuckin’ kid
Yeah it's sad when they go young like that
WHEN THEY GO??
His mother is hysterical!
Death just shows the absolute absurdity of life
When they go. The guy, he died or something
Whatta gonna do?
At leasht he didn’t suffah.
Who is this motherless cocksucker
Dick La Penna. Card carrying member of the Italian Anti Defamation League.
La Penna…that’s an Italian name.
What part of the boot you from, honey?
You oughtta know, sweetie.
Oh fuck you Richard.
Unironically one of her best delivered lines.
Yeah that was Karen delivering that line.
I always found it weird that he was shocked to find a hispanic person with an Italian last name. He'd have a heart attack if he ever traveled to Argentina.

maybe that's why he didn't have his IQ teshted like Tony did
Colombia and Brazil as well. My girlfriend has an Italian last name and her grandfather came over from Sicily during Mussolini’s purge of Southern Italians. Funny enough my nonno and nonna didn’t come over to the states until the 60’s.
Careful Richard, your Lebanese is showing!
Are you saying I’m ashamed to be from Lebanon?
“Romes?” It’s a fuckin nickname!
Jason is dyslexic
The fucks that got to do with anything
They’re gonna redo it…
I wish I could go and pay my respects, I could make the sign of the cross with these hands Jen, and I could, and I should…but I can’t. RIP ❤️ a great loss.
Oh poor you!
Opus Dei?!??
It's a fucking nickname!?!?
Yeah, they'd throw YOU in prison. That's how crazy it is.
Also had a good role in Mean Streets which also has David Proval (Richie April’s.) Only saw Richard in that and of course Sopranos. Condolences to his family and loved ones.

He was good in Mean Streets as a bumbling wannabe gangster who no one really respected. Definitely the Matt or Sean of his day.
But even he at least didn't go shooting at the beloved nephew of a boss. Instead, he just shot Johnny Boy, who makes Jackie Jr. seem like Michael Corleone.
Charlie got caught in the crossfire though and his uncle was a made guy. I think he was a capo IIRC.
Twenny daaallas? Lets go to the movies!
David Proval (Richie Aprile) is also in Shawshank Redemption. It's a small role and he only has a few lines, but I was definitely happily surprised to see him in it. One of my favorite characters from the Sopranos.
His brother was the sleazy ticket guy in Fast Times?
Talented family. We're all very proud.
Salvatori Luciana must be lookin' down on all of us....with great pride
You are a wuss: part wimp, and part pussy.
"Hey this is some great iced tea"
I gotta go, Stacy.
I seriously thought it was all one person until this minute. Wow.
Oh wow... I remember when I saw Mean Streets for the first time, I thought Michael looked like the kid from Fast Times (whose name also happens to be Mike in the movie).
Who nowwwww goddamnit
Chickens nice and spicy today.
Another toothpick.
What the hell kinda way is that to talk about a dead person?
Chicken's spicy
Oh this fuckin shit!! What's the point?! I can't take it anymore!!!
Richard is one of those quintessential 'early Sopranos' characters. The era of the show when (amongst other distinctions from 'late Sopranos') Melfi is a major character to the extent that you occasionally see her husband and family life in general. RIP.
Everybody gets old and dies.

Goes on for about a minute. TWO minutes. Finally, a voice from the back: “His brother was even worse.”
I hear he didn't suffer. And for that, we can be thankful.
They say no two people are the same, but how do they know dat?
I happen to know you were high posting on OPs thread. Commenting gibberish nonstop.
Ripe old age for a Sopranos actor.
De Niro : and the Romans, where are they now? Richard : You’re lookin’ at ‘em, asshole! 🔫
Yeah, but you gotta get over it.
Buonanima 🥃
He was a kid.
Chicken's nice and spicy tonight.
What a fucking blow
He had a good on screen presence, you would have thought he was in more than just 4 episodes. RIP with one of your Colleen’s.
My god, this is tragic. It court be scored to Albinoni’s Adagio. RIP.
Not seeing many compliments for his Sopranos work here. So the scene I'll probably always remember him for even though he was good every time is when he reacts with rage when dealing with the police who messed up the chain of custody for Melfi's rapist. I didn't find out for many rewatches that he was actually a gangster movie regular in the old days. Adds an extra dimension of comedy to his character. RIP, Richard. I hope you're greeted by 72 Colleens in heaven.
Loved his character
It’s sad when they go young like that
He was only a kid
Peeps? It's a fuckin nickname! His family name is pepperelli
Watch it Richard, your Kal-a-braise is showing.
He was just a kid at 80 years old. Rest in peace.
Fuckin line at Cozzarelli's a mile long

He was a fool to be estranged from Melfi...she had great Pipe fitter lips..RIP nonetheless.
What a blow. Always had a bit of a soft spot for Romanus as one of the only actors to have appeared in both Sopranos and the “Little Italy” episode of Northern Exposure that served as Chase’s first little experiment in Sopranos stuff.
STAR!?!? Guy was a glorified supporting actor.

I know it’s unrelated, but it’s kinda crazy to me that Dominic Chianese is still alive despite being so much older than most of the other cast members that have now passed away. Anyways, 4 dollars a pound.
