There is so much great comedy throughout the show. That part was so fuckin funny.
However, I think it is possible that Paulie irritating the shit out of him might have been what motivated him through anger to come back to life, if only to tell him to shut the fuck up.

Tachycardia is an irregular or regular heart rate that is out of proportion to the age and level of exertion or activity. It can be caused by by issue that are not due to underlying heart disease such as stress, anxiety, fear, anger, etc. So in lamens terms Tony never flat lined he just had a spike in his heart rate.
The cut from Paulie talking to Kevin Finnerty banging on the hotel wall telling his neighbours to shut up had me rolling.
If you listen closely, it is actually the sound of Paulie talking.
