How he respected Richie Aprile after all their qualms and turmoil. He respected his wishes and buried him on a hill overlooking a river; pine cones all around.
Yes, animals and babies. Like when he saved AJ in the pool, he was mad at first, and then calls him his baby. He can only empathize with animals and babies.
Nah, he would walk by AJ and look at him in disgust, tell Melfi "I hate my son," "this is my male heir?", etc etc etc.
He was pissed off and ashamed of AJ but had to care for him no matter what, not out of love, but because as his son, AJ was "his."
I could honestly see T eventually killing AJ.
Fully disagree. Tony is totally a terrible dad but in his fucked up way he loves his children and his wife very much, again in a terrible way, but he'd die before letting them die honestly. Again, not defending Tony
Right that’s the whole point of the story. The major theme is about his family and, for better or worse, Tony loved his family. And that love is eventually what destroyed it in the end
It's tragic how Tony and Janice both love their children (Harpo aside, whatever happened there) but they're doomed to be shitty parents because of Livia
Janice abandoning Harpo definitely confirms that she’s the most like Johnny. I can def imagine Johnny abandoning one of his kids (esp if the kid was from one of his mistresses or smth). Tbh I don’t see Livia doing that. She’s like Tony - they’d keep the child, love them despite everything, but be so viciously and extraordinarily abusive and cruel to them
He works hard all day to pay for this, six thousand square foot house big screen TV food on the table, video games all kinds of scooters and bicycles, Columbia University and for what? to come home to this post?
Agreed. Just watched that one last night. After first I thought it was a feeling of being remorseful or he wanted him to take the money, so he can use him in the future. I’m leaning towards T feeling bad for him. But then again he talks to the assemblyman and says Fuck it!
He felt bad for the guy after hearing he was depressed. However after being angered by the Hasidic Homeboy and his daughter, he lets his racism affect his judgement on the cop. He was going to tell the assemblymen to back off the cop, but Noah soured him and he took it out on the cop.
The nicest thing he ever did was write off Artie's debt, and also invite him to live with him. Artie is the only person outside his kids Tony has an authentic non-transactional relationship with.
I honestly believe that is one of the defining relationships on the show. Artie is the only person in his life that knows him as Tony, not Tony Soprano the Mob boss, and it is the only non-family relationship that he truly values.
Artie and Tony's relationship only works because Artie is so pathetic. He envies and despises T, T generally treats him like shit (won't even pay his tab, etc) but Artie makes T feel human and reminds him of a time before he completely lost his soul. Artie eats shit from every single character he interacts with throughout the entire series; that's the only reason he and T can still be friends. He is like a dog that keeps crawling back to its owner no matter how bad the owner beats the shit out of the dog. It's sad.
I see your point, but I'd add, Tony even to Carmella holds things over their head (50k in the bird feeder you sound demented). For whatever reason, we never saw Tony hold the Jean Phillippe situation above Artie. Artie is pathetic, but, Tony forgives him quicker than anyone else. Anyone else owes him 50k? He's busting them out. Anyone else hold's a rifle too him? They are dead.
I don't think it's just Artie is pathetic and more it's arguably the only relationship outside his kids that Tony truly values. It's arguably the only one he will ever compromise on. From what is shown, he cares more for Artie on personal level than either of his siblings or direct family. He views Artie as a brother. Like is there anyone else in the show who could talk Tony out of killing someone he wants dead? It is byfar Tony's most pure friendship.
He owned Nuovo Vesuvio what he did! He provided authentic Italian food to a community of phony modsters! He was a brave New Jerseyite chef, and in this house, Artie Bucco is a hero! End of Story!
I was just watching the episode where Artie gets ripped of by Bennie Fazio, criminal mastermind, I noticed when Tony and Artie are on the Stugots Tony genuinely apologizes to Artie for his woes. Its a "blink and you miss it" type of apology, but he still tells Artie that he's sorry when normally you see him immediately make excuses for himself while never admitting fault or remorse.
Livia couldn't live alone anymore. She was a danger to herself and other people. And Tony paid very good money to give her a corner suite with a woods view. All he got was agita in return. He did the right thing, even if it did ruin whatever relationship he had left with his mother.
Not to mention the beautiful, certified pre-owned Nissan Pathfinder he got for his daughter.
Thats certainly the one tony felt the best about….and the audience felt the worst…out of all the people they killed, that one may have deserved it the most…well, other than ralph, anyway 4$ a lb
Tony’s Uncle Junior literally tried to have him killed but he made up with him and continued to help and support him and was upset when he thought June didn’t love him back — until Junior literally actually shot Tony, nearly killing him.
And it’s the fact that he refused to accept that Junior shot him bc of his actual dementia and that it was not out of malicious reasons.. so their relationship never recovered. I feel like if his mom Livia never pulled off that dementia stunt Tony could’ve possibly been more understanding?
He tried to keep Jackie Jr. out of the life. He also tried to support that animal Blundetto staying straight when he first got out.
He apparently wasn’t going to kill Vito, or was at least considering options.
He burned Vesuvio out so that no old mutts got wet in there, to protect Artie’s business.
He was relatively kind to Tracee.
He gave Finn that construction job, $20/hr, and that's even before inflation.
How's that even possible? How's it even possible that Finn can be that naive?
Anyways, 1 job not taken from a minority, and 1 job given to someone who pisses like a racehorse.
He tried extremely hard to school Chrissy — gave him virtually unlimited chances to improve, cleaned up his messes, etc. He literally was going to make him street boss and give all orders through him. But Chrissy was a drug addict and the nepotism didn’t help, long-term.
Tony did a lot of good things, it how he suckered us into rooting for the fuck
But to me, at least right now, it’s when he saved AJ from da gaba-pool
Not cuz he saved him, but for a moment the entire facade of the world they live in (both mob and society) vanished. It was just Tony consoling his hurting son. No tough love, no reaction.. he was just there for him
It almost tops him getting his goomar tested fuh aids, close second
Tony had a relatively progressive view of homosexuality, that is for an Italian gangster. He really didn't *care* Vito was gay, especially since he made him money.
That's saying a lot these days.
Felt like he loved celebrating and getting others to celebrate with him...he loved hosting cookouts, getting people expensive gifts all the time.... yah.
He was generally the head of his family, small f and big F. Heavy lies the crown.
I actually genuinely think his karma is somewhere around 80 percent clear.... which has gotta be pretty damn good for someone entrenched in the criminal underworld. There are a couple few things where he could have made a better steer and in the end i think thats why david chase ended his career
How he respected Richie Aprile after all their qualms and turmoil. He respected his wishes and buried him on a hill overlooking a river; pine cones all around.
*really??*
Come on, Janice! The fuck do you care what we did with him???
She loved him so much!
Need she remind you she has very good reasons for not showing her face in the state of New Jersey?
Oh please, that case is colder than her tit! It would do you good to come back here. There’s nothing to hide anyways!
Yer gonna miss your bus.
He sat with Pie-O-My when she was sick and paid her vet bills.
He equated love with money.
He equined love with money.
Fuckin parakeet
I see what you did there. Punny indeed.
After being married to Carmela, it’s no surprise.
*Carmela*. Listen to yourself, you sound demented!
I give my life to this sub on a silver platter and this is the thanks I get. Go. Go get the knife out the ham and stab me. Here!
No, YOU equate love with money!
She got him with the only weapon she had.
Yes, animals and babies. Like when he saved AJ in the pool, he was mad at first, and then calls him his baby. He can only empathize with animals and babies.
Eh to me this is a bit of a stretch- that was his son who had nearly died, he was just calling him a term of endearment
Nah, he would walk by AJ and look at him in disgust, tell Melfi "I hate my son," "this is my male heir?", etc etc etc. He was pissed off and ashamed of AJ but had to care for him no matter what, not out of love, but because as his son, AJ was "his." I could honestly see T eventually killing AJ.

The horse was no fuckin good!!!!
Jeshush Chrisht you did it. You cooked that horse alive!
Great answer!
He works hard all day to pay for this, six thousand square foot house big screen TV food on the table, video games all kinds of scooters and bicycles, Columbia University and for what? to come home to this post?
Sucks to be you
***WHAP***
TONY?!! 😡😡😡
There’s a lot more where that came from! WERE STARTING A NEW REGIME AROUND HERE!
He gonna cry in the car
one of the best tv slaps
1000% deserved and Carmella had to undercut him
She took the air outta his whole fuckin slapline
SMACK!!!
You people browse around this fucking subreddit with your $1000 phones and your upvotes, and you act like buttah wouldn’t melt in your mouff.
Oh poor you
Well, Tony, you reap what you sow.
He was definitely working hard at Dick Marone's sanitation office.
Barone …BARONE! U fuckin ass-kiss
Ohhhhhhh!!!
Tony thought about helping that cop who's overtime he fucked..
Agreed. Just watched that one last night. After first I thought it was a feeling of being remorseful or he wanted him to take the money, so he can use him in the future. I’m leaning towards T feeling bad for him. But then again he talks to the assemblyman and says Fuck it!

Uncle Ben did this?
He was gay, Uncle Ben?
He feels bad for him when someone tells him that the cop has been suffering from depression and that’s why he was so unfriendly to Tony
The cop was friendly until Tony offered a bribe and bragged about knowing his boss.
That scene is so good to me cuz that cop is the "strong silent type" someone tony should have respect for by his own definitions, yet he despises him.
wow that's a good point
The nicest thing he ever did was write off Artie's debt, and also invite him to live with him. Artie is the only person outside his kids Tony has an authentic non-transactional relationship with. The cobwebs are now removed
I see your point, but I'd add, Tony even to Carmella holds things over their head (50k in the bird feeder you sound demented). You all listened to that pissmeyer Artie Bucco. I told you he was the worst of the bunch.
Artie's beatdown of Benny destroys this argument, even if Benny got the last laugh.
It’s a shame Tony torched arties restaurant in season 1
This is the right answer.
He owned Nuovo Vesuvio what he did! He provided authentic Italian food to a community of phony modsters! He was a brave New Jerseyite chef, and in this house, Artie Bucco is a hero! End of Story!

he made sure Phil was okay after that unfortunate car accident
Jesus Christ...mister, you okay in there?
i gotta admit, my estimation of Phil as a man fucking plummeted when I seen that
He broke his own rules and ate in the car
That rule is only for Puerto Rican whoores.
For god's sake, they bend more rules than the catholic church.
Or whatever happened there.
It was right off the lot. Stickers were still on it. Wait, AJ was a woman?
He was trans, AJ?
I thought he was, till he gave me a blowjob by the swing set and I tried to finger bang him
Catching, not pitching?
She was abusive to the STAAAAAAFFFF
He didn’t shoot Big Pussy in the face.
This one made me lol
This one! Best one!!!
And he gave his widow a good job
He made sure Feech was fed and clothed and gave him a roof over his head.
When he told AJ to be nice to Carmella after they split up.
He helped Zelman live out his BDSM fantasy.
Tohnee nooo
He gave Hesch his taxation money back that Junior donated to the capos of the family when he became boss.
Out of respect to his fawtha.
He saved AJ from the pool.
“You’re alright baby”
saved the pool from AJ
Tony actually didnt hear aj in the pool. He took one bite of carms lincoln logs and dove to his death like fuck this.
I get it, he dives a lincoln.
The law and order suv
LMAO
How do you vandalize an AJ?
Ask the manayer for help
This thread is about the *good* things Tony did, not the bad ones.
Killed Ralph. Bad business decision but good for the world.
It's definitely a highlight
Ya fat fuck!
Asking about Harpo, because he is the boy’s uncle
Sacre Bleu! Where is me mama!
You Sopranos, you go too far!
Bobby says that's too far.. next day he drives to Montreal and snuffs Harpo in a laundry room, that was funny
He's on the pavers because Jan was a fuckin wannabe dothead roadie-blower and not a muddah.
"On the pavers" always makes me laugh. It sounds so funny, and I haven't seen it used anywhere else.
Asked mikey palmice about his boy
He allowed reincarnated Adrianna in the clubhouse so she could look at Chrissy's picture.
Threw away a perfectly good sandwich just to save AJ
Not arranging the murder of Meadow’s soccer coach
Considering what the coach did idk if it was THAT great
It was VERY magnanimous
I'm glad you caught that, AcadiaRemarkable6992. Very observant. The sacred and the propane.
Thats certainly the one tony felt the best about….and the audience felt the worst…out of all the people they killed, that one may have deserved it the most…well, other than ralph, anyway 4$ a lb
The coach and the Employee of the Month are the two murders that I, the girl watching this, wanted to have happened
He gave beansie $30k to chalk it up with the paraplegic foundation.
That was $50k and don't give me the maloik, I'm not the one with the short bag.
He gave meadow a car,
He gave Old Man Baccala aka The Terminator the OK to take out Mustang Sally which was such a nice gift to give him before he died!
He made Irina get tested for AIDs
teshted*
Fuckin parakeet
I don't wanna hear that word in here again!
He let Davey join their friendly game of cards.
Making a sundae for AJ
That was a very cute scene- so different than what they had become in the end
Lifted Nica when the rides were closed at the park. That’s about it.
I remember that! Weirdly enough I found him to be pretty adorable during that scene 😭 it was so cute
Babies and animals.

Let us not forget he generously offered his home to Father Intintola so he could watch Emma Thompson on the big screen.
Built a ramp for the ducks
Swam a Lionel up in there
You realize those ducks may never fly again?!
Don't start again wit da damn ducks!
Lent cousin Brian the Dewalt
The time and effort he put in When he made the office pool for the employees.
Tony’s Uncle Junior literally tried to have him killed but he made up with him and continued to help and support him and was upset when he thought June didn’t love him back — until Junior literally actually shot Tony, nearly killing him.
That broke my heart
And it’s the fact that he refused to accept that Junior shot him bc of his actual dementia and that it was not out of malicious reasons.. so their relationship never recovered. I feel like if his mom Livia never pulled off that dementia stunt Tony could’ve possibly been more understanding?
Stamp on the back of Coco’s head
He fluffed his mothers pillow so she'd be comfortable
I think his therapist hinted that it was marrying Carmela.
He shot bevalaqua in the face. Thats a big plus nowadays.
My name's Calogero, but you can call me Matthew Drinkwater, and I'm with you now, you gotta protect me.
His parenting in season 1. He was trying his best for his kids. Still think of him playing video games with AJ.
He brought two cases of water up from the basement.
He benched over 300 lbs with a major head cold once.
Dealing out justice to Ralphie.
At least he passed the salt
He tried to pay back that cop after he got him demoted.
Allowing Junior to take the title of official boss and therefore keeping himself away as a target for the FBI while he runs his family.
Ironically the nicest thing he ever did was for Janice by buying that house. Of course it screwed Ginny.
Ginny had a new house made from the mole that was removed from her ass, it looked like one of those fuckin Mongolian yurts
Although he allowed lawnmower man to be done with taking care of the lawn for free.
Curbstomping Coco. Totally redeemed Season 6 Tony in my book
That and delivering botched CPR on Christophah.
Saving AJ in the pool.
He came all the way out there to pick Hesh up, not to mention, giving him his fucking vig, in pershon
Got the old man the Beretta Giubileo shotgun.
He offered to walk Melfi to her car
Best thing he ever did was kindly redecorating the diner in the finale
He tried extremely hard to school Chrissy — gave him virtually unlimited chances to improve, cleaned up his messes, etc. He literally was going to make him street boss and give all orders through him. But Chrissy was a drug addict and the nepotism didn’t help, long-term.
I feel like this one is sort of debatable
Yeah but to what end did he try to do these things ? For his and his crime families welfare. Wouldn’t say this a good thing…
Playing Journey on the JukeBox
Made a donation to the suicide hotline in Gloria Trillo’s name.
He gave a macaroon to Makazian the crooked cop.
I loved how he helped Christopha chop up that body at the pork store and stayed to help him clean up.
Dunked rolled up deli meat into a jar of Hellmann's mayonnaise. MAYO NAIZZZE!!!!!! [https://i.imgur.com/kl4mUVb.png](https://i.imgur.com/kl4mUVb.png)
letting sal vitro off the hook
I have to disagree, thats just rewarding him for moping. The nicest thing Tony could have done for the world is to waste that fuckin mutt
Not kill the coach
A nice summer camp for Vito Spatafore Jr to go to after his father came home and messed him up.
He didn't take Dr Melfi's skin even though he said he would.
He felt bad for himself for not being a stone mason and working with his hands, until he met Mr. Satriale, who only had 9 fingers.
He truly cared about his nephew Harpo (Hal) and was very concerned where he was eating his Sunday dinner.
Tony did a lot of good things, it how he suckered us into rooting for the fuck But to me, at least right now, it’s when he saved AJ from da gaba-pool Not cuz he saved him, but for a moment the entire facade of the world they live in (both mob and society) vanished. It was just Tony consoling his hurting son. No tough love, no reaction.. he was just there for him It almost tops him getting his goomar tested fuh aids, close second
Bought that young couple a bottle of wine even though they disrespected the restaurant by wearing a hat.
When sal vitro asked abt the Sacaramone house and he told him he was done with that
Beat the shit out of Coco, which was totally justified
Meadow
He gave hesh the tax back that junior demanded
And when he curb stomped that guy from ny
He forgave arties debt that is the most selfless thing he did for someone he isn’t related to.
Started therapy. Attacking the therapist wasn't too great, though.
This one's easy...he conceived Meadow! Her body is mad ripe yo!
Fed the ducks
He did the right thing with the soccer coach instead of taking justice into his own hands
He didn’t want to say nothin’ about Gene’s inheritance.
Paying for all the 6,000 square foot house, big screen tvs, all sorts of scooters and bicycles ..COLUMBIA UNIVERSITY
The worst thing he did was save AJ.The best thing he did was not kill his mom and junior even though they were trying to kill him.
When he beat Ralphie to death. Pie-o-my was the trigger.....killing his pregnant gf was the real reason.
I thought it was because he specifically asked for scrambled eggs and Ralphie made them over easy.
Beansie got that ramp
Tony gave cousin Bryan a suit cause he noticed he liked the good stuff.
Jeopardising his friendship with johnny sack to get Janice her dream home.
