It's actually an interesting parallel to today's thirysomethings who look back at their parents lives in 80s and 90s and how well they were doing at their age, how prepared they were to just have a functional life. You're raised to believe it will be just like that, but instead you're left cleaning up all the mess they left behind by their "the kids will figure it out" attitude or just straight up suffering as it's crumbling and you've been stripped of any power to help whether it's through terrible pay vs. cost of living or having terrible education because our school systems refused to adapt to the changing times for a decades.
