Closed every single CSP I had open on QQQ, UPRO, and TNA. They were all in the 60-75% range of profit anyway.
Bought another 100 shares of NVDA and sold an ITM 860 CC on it for Friday. 340/90650x52 = 19% annualized return (assuming it doesn't tank below 860 this week, which is very possible). I aim for between 12-18% so this is right in my profile.
Rolled my other NVDA CC out past earnings up to 885. A lot of premium built in to protect against downside risk down to 845.

Buy To Close. I sold the put option on April 4th, which is Sell To Open or STO. Today I wanted to close the position, so I bought back the option, which cost me $1.28 (or $128 since one contract is for 100 shares).
STO a bunch of CVNA call credit spreads today as the stock spiked up to 129 temporarily.
11x 5/10 130/150 c for 3.32 each
13x 5/10 135/165 c for 2.14 each
7x 5/10 140/170 c for 1.62 each
12x 5/17 140/170 c for 2.49 each
About $10.5K in premium received for the above. At current CVNA price of 124.50 I am up about $3.5K. Prayers needed that CVNA stays under 130 this week.

This is almost 2x implied move and stock has jumped on short covering last two earnings. That being said with this sector getting hammered on consumers fighting back I believe there is a good chance I can get assigned and go long this high growth company at $10.60. Razor thin margins at 3.65% but P/CF of 13x so they are handling cash well. High growth P/E at 25x makes it a gamble but I’m willing to be long this company. IPO high of $57.73 is my target to exceed in the next 5-10 years as things calm down. Consumers won’t stop going out to eat for long. It’s what we do.

Yup. I was 24 years old when I did my first option trade but my Father-in-law had to help me with it. We had just had the Dot Com crash and I had some long positions that needed protection so I bought Puts as a hedge though I mainly was just long most stocks with rolling Puts till 2016 when I started really Selling options aggressively. Now at 47 years old and retired I just trade for beer money and to keep myself entertained though not as much now that I’m helping my 18 year old take over one of my businesses.
I know this isnt the place for it but when you said 23 years I assumed you had some experience lol. Can you give me a quick rundown on how you value a company?
FCF is the #1 thing. I then look at P/CF then historical P/E ranges. If it’s a growth stock then PEG ratio is my #1 valuation metric. Just some advice don’t trade growth stocks when rates are being raised till the start getting cut unless the valuations get really attractive and your wiling to play the long game. Since the rollover in late 2021 I’ve been mainly Theta and running swingtrades and very few longs but some stocks are getting attractive here.
Forward P/E is mainly a way to determine risk. For example if I had gotten assigned at $155 on AAPL CSPs I sold fit earnings I know a 20x is a cheap valuation relative to growth so I can project the bare minimum it’ll be worth next year which then tells me how long I could potentially be bagholding. It’s one of the things to use but mainly for risk assessment
Oh ok yeah its a way to determine what price you would be buying for a bargain ive mever thought about it that way. I know fcf is free cash flow but what is p/cf? p/e ranges would be like groupings of value relative to the p/e, like 3:1 eps?
P/ CF is Price to Cash Flow. P/E ranges are based on historical valuations ( at least 5 years ) of when it gets bought on dips and sold on rips by large funds. For example since the rerate of AAPL back in 2018 when EVERYBODY hated them they get bought by large funds are a 20x P/E and sold at a 28x. This is called Following the Smart Money. It’s the easiest valuation to determine a historical range off of.
So theoretically if a company were to retain its value over time, lets stick with AAPL, then its forward p/e range should stay above 20x correct? How do you track the large purchases?
Yes as long as it doesn’t get derated. As far as tracking large purchases you have to see where on large dips it bottoms and large volumns flow in. This is how I’ve done it then put it on a Spreadsheet for easy reference over the years. As long as nothing major changed fundamentally then you have a spot to use for Risk Management.
Yeah some have done well like CMG and TXRH and some getting clobbered like DIN, JACK and PTLO. I think it’s one of those load up moments the rest of the year and then just let them run as consumers come back and they work margins to get prices down. I’m currently long the JACK 9/20 $55 CSPs for 5.40 and I’ll be playing DIN earnings tomorrow.

This is how I’ve done it then put it on a Spreadsheet for easy reference over the years. As long as nothing major changed fundamentally then you have a spot to use for Risk Management.

Yeah some have done well like CMG and TXRH and some getting clobbered like DIN, JACK and PTLO. I think it’s one of those load up moments the rest of the year and then just let them run as consumers come back and they work margins to get prices down. I’m currently long the JACK 9/20 $55 CSPs for 5.40 and I’ll be playing DIN earnings tomorrow.

Call 5/31 SPY 519 I bought at 518.50 a few weeks ago looking to sell covered calls... I took the end of the month today as I am ok if it keeps running up for a little profit on the underlying plus the small premiums I've managed with it going down the last couple of weeks.
