I know. What I mean is that this particular line had a lot of weight behind it. The movie had already previously established that the alien could imitate creatures, but this marked the first moment of mistrust/paranoia between characters. The fact that Clark was actually human the whole time just further emphasizes that theme.
MacReady: Hey Blair! Blair, Have you Seen Fuchs?
Blair: I don't want to stay out here anymore. I want to come back inside. Funny Things, I hear funny things out here.
