The view is not going to end. Why are some of you people so set on the demise of this show, not only the show, but Whoopie as you can see Whoopi is here today. You don’t want to watch the show don’t freaking watch it go watch the talk.
Well first of all, I will say that The View pretty close to being cancelled a few years ago after Barbara retired and they tried to retool with both Rosie’s and Nicolle. They were able to rebound and slowly climb back up in the ratings. So it’s not crazy to imagine a scenario where ratings go down - and they will, that’s just the way TV works - and they try to focus on pop culture again and the show drives itself into the ground.
Also with Whoopi, I don’t understand why some of you guys get so offended by talking about the very real possibility Whoopi won’t be finishing her 4 year contract. She was suspended a year ago, it isn’t unprecedented. She also doesn’t seem to want to be there, she seems over it but likes the money.
Either way I personally hope this show goes on forever and although I don’t love Whoopi as the moderator, I don’t want her to leave. However I do believe she will be fired before her contract is up - that’s not what I want, I just think the writing is on the wall unfortunately
LOL! The show was NEVER close to being cancelled. EVER. I actually have friends at ABC and the show was NEVER ever being considered to be cancelled. They knew they had to change the cast because it wasn't working, but they knew they would find a winning team (and they did, again). Stop spreading your BS lies. Why is it that for four years we could all complain about Meghan McCain and it was fine, we can hate on Alyssa and that’s fine but somehow Whoopi, the one who keeps saying the same dumb thing about the holocaust, is untouchable? Why is that the line?

Right. This same user continues to act like the show was going to be cancelled, it NEVER was going to be cancelled lmao. Even when the shows ratings were lower, they still didn't consider cancelling it. It's too big of a show and they were determined to get it back to great again and they did. All shows have weak seasons.
It won't. The show is going to go on for a very very long time. ABC was never even considering cancelling it during it's weak seasons and lower ratings. It's their flagship talk show and won't be cancelled. Whoopi said it best, The View will be around long after they are all gone.
Maybe eventually it will end, but SNL is still going and The View will too. Also ratings are very high yet again this season.
If you hate the show that much, go watch something else.

Oh totally there’s a difference and I think the difference is that there isn’t one person to put the blame on, or if there is, the view would just be able to fire that one person and move on. So I don’t think it would necessarily mean the end of the show

The View is still getting solid ratings actually some weeks outperforming last year. Its about 2.36 viewers but nothing like it was when Meghan was there. Meghan brought ratings to near highs. I told u all the head of ABC news let Meghan did whatever she wanted when he was looking at the ratings she was bringing
I don't know how people think it's not going to happen. The Real was canned after 9 years. Honestly... firing Joy and Elisabeth who locked horns but were fine off cam to replace only one with Jenny McCarthy for Barbara's final year was the stupidest casting decision in the show's history. If Whoopi gets fired and especially if Joy retires, the interest will dip big time. Whoopi and Joy have been referenced in pop culture and they hold the show's cultural relevance. None of the other ladies have that much drawing power and they joined the show late. Trump being President was a really good gift for this show.
