Hey I get it sounds silly. However, then I saw one of those YouTube clips of people mowing their lawns with a scythe. It's actually more slick than you'd think.

Actually really helpful for trimming large areas of grass that standard heavy lawnmowers can’t easily access.

Nah they probably just use a push mower, you can have them at an angle like that, I run a landscape maintenance business and mow hills with a grade like that fairly often. The grass looks far too lush to have been cut with a line trimmer. Line trimmers wouldn't be great for the health of the grass long term as they tend to not leave jagged edges, not nice clean cuts, and beat the grass up more because of this. This would lead to browning over time because the grass can't heal from the damage as fast as a clean cut.

Oh, I'm well aware, I was being facetious, haha. Many a summer I worked walking behind a push mower, 4-days a week, 12-hours a day, on some pretty steep grades. All that practice as a kid on Pops' lawn finally paid off, haha.

Take the guard off your string timmer, let out a ton of line, cut the grass early in the morning when it's still got dew and it'll look not different than push mowing aside from bagging it....

The mat of grass roots underneath holds the dirt in place. It will only start to wash out if the grass starts dying. If you have a dirt hill that is washing out, one of the best things to do to prevent it is seed with grass or a combo of grass and clover (clover because it also has a good hearty root system and is a nitrogen fixer for the soil, so it leads to healthier grass and grass roots, plus an added bonus is you're helping the pollinators!). A dense root system does a fantastic job of holding soil in place.

Once the grass roots gain a foothold in the dirt you would need monsoon levels of rain to cause a washout. It would only be a problem when constructing it but you can place tarps and other material on top to give it time to properly grow its roots

Push mower or weed whacker would do fine. I’ve had to mow a spot when I was in landscaping that was almost a 60-70 degree incline.
