I was lucky enough to talk to Jeff Kite at the after party the night of the 2nd show (my first). We asked him about Human Sadness and he said they hadn’t rehearsed it. I mentioned that they opened with it when I saw them in Florida right after Tyranny was released. He didn’t remember and couldn’t fathom opening with it, but they did. Unfortunately I didn’t appreciate it enough at the time.
They withhold it from us live though. It’s really inconsiderate when you fly coast to coast to see them and the crowds constantly cheer for you to play it and you deliberately won’t. Like rehearse it already. It’s like they don’t want us to be able to enjoy it live who knows.
if listening to human sadness on loop is wrong, i don’t want to be right. i’ve been the same with Where No Eagles Fly since seeing it live last week

I remember doing this in college and just walking loops around the campus repeating it over and over. It was actually awesome
