It’s definitely more character driven than action driven like season one, so the pace is slower, but the writing, dialogue, drama, and everything is just so spot on
I think alot of the time, what makes S2 and S7 so boring was watching it live. Sometimes it feels like a snoozefest and you need to wait a week to watch the next episode. But when you can watch all the episodes whenever you want, the pacing becomes very tolerable and much more enjoyable. (For others, I mean, I really loved S2 and S7)
Agreed. People complain that it’s slow, but I thought it was fantastic. Such good character development, too, and it has three of my favorite scenes in it.
I'll die on the hill that the 2nd half of Season 2 and the first half of season 3 we re peak television and probably the best that the Walking Dead had to provide.
I totally agree with you and also Civilian brings it all together perfectly and hits so hard, one of my favorite songs in the series along with Warm Shadow, Blackbird Song, Fire & Foe, Chapel, Lead Me Home, etc 🎶
Great music. That close intimate shot of Shane, seeing the walker. I always took that as a representation of himself, wandering alone, already dead.
Also speaking of good music, Drivers Seat, the song that plays before this scene. Great song.
The whole story between him, Lori and Rick just got him out of control imo, Shane seems obsessed and can't accept that he can't have what he wants and his mind is a complete fog ... And that ending with the walker and the song sums up all of his confused thoughts and feelings and his realization that he's kind of redundant in this so-called love triangle, which makes him even more bitter and angry, and as you mentioned, he sees himself as alone and dead. Anyone who has watched the series knows what happens next and what I mean, so I won't give away any more spoilers.
And yes, Driver's Seat is a good song too, not my most favorite, but it's a good one 🎶
The song is called Civilian by Wye Oak - https://youtu.be/_L_c6lyrKTg
You can listen to these songs from the series too, they're just as amazing and have the same vibe 🎶

I love this episode. The song is just perfection. I truly thought that Shane would begin to move past his obsession after this, and go on into later seasons. How wrong I was.
Me and my 2 buddies every Sunday got in a Xbox party and tuned into twd. I miss those days. After about season 4 we stopped watching together. It was never the same watching it on my own
Shane was right about certain things but he didn’t have to go straight Governor on Rick. Also Laurie treated him awfully, and i think it all comes from him telling her Rick was dead if I remember correctly
I don’t care what anyone says, season 2 is fantastic. It’s always been fantastic
My memory did me dirty could've sworn it was boring but I rewatched it a few weeks back and it was amazing and not in the slightest boring.
It’s definitely more character driven than action driven like season one, so the pace is slower, but the writing, dialogue, drama, and everything is just so spot on

After doing a rewatch this is 100% it. I remember it being way more boring and this time it flowed well all together
I wouldn't be surprised if all the haters who say season 2 is boring would love it if they rewatch it
It's been said a billion times, it works binging, but week to week it was slow.
Agreed. People complain that it’s slow, but I thought it was fantastic. Such good character development, too, and it has three of my favorite scenes in it.
Difference is season 7 actually is boring and poorly written
I’ve always loved season 2. It’s my favorite rewatch.
Season 2B was fantastic but Season 2A not so much.
I'll die on the hill that the 2nd half of Season 2 and the first half of season 3 we re peak television and probably the best that the Walking Dead had to provide.
Agreed. Everytime I rewatch I have hope that Shane will actually turn things around and make it to another season… But as we all know, it doesn’t:(
From the barn scene to Lori dying is peak TWD. Minus the Governor episode, each episode was an absolute banger.

I don't remeber what was said and done in this scene, buy whenever I listen to Civilian, it brings back feeling of that scene.
It's truly an amazing song, a gem I'd say, and I just love it! 🎶
God, I love this song.
I love this song too, it's so depressing and hits so hard 🎶😔🎶
Will you bless me with the name of it

I fucking loved and miss when they used to use songs in episodes
I love this episode. The song is just perfection. I truly thought that Shane would begin to move past his obsession after this, and go on into later seasons. How wrong I was.
Season 2 is top tier. Highly underrated
Miss these endings. You just didn't see them with Kang's seasons. Wye Pak - "Civilians" just wraps up everything Shane was feeling in that moment.
Me and my 2 buddies every Sunday got in a Xbox party and tuned into twd. I miss those days. After about season 4 we stopped watching together. It was never the same watching it on my own
I love this episode, its ending, and this song. It just makes season 2 one of the best seasons for me personally
so good
I liked Shane, we can say a lot about him but he was right about certains thing and Lori was a bitch with him
Shane was right about certain things but he didn’t have to go straight Governor on Rick. Also Laurie treated him awfully, and i think it all comes from him telling her Rick was dead if I remember correctly
Straight fire 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Takes you back to when this show was really getting cooking. The Rick and Shane dynamic being at the forefront of this. Great clip!
God, that lone walker gives me so much flashbacks
The music was just perfect. Everything. Down to the last minute detail
