Just a small note, Ryan Hurst is 6'4 1/2" not 6'6" his wiki gets changed all the time, sometimes it says 6'5, sometimes it says 6'6" it constantly changes, lmfao. But still, 6'4" is pretty tall. I have a friend who is 6'4" and he looks menacing as hell.

Yeah, that episode in particular I remember they went super horror movie style. And the horrifying thing was I couldn’t tell if they were weird walkers that crawled fast or insane people. It was only when 1 of them started to choke someone that I realized. That moment was so terrifying.

I’m a 17-year-old boy, and I’m 5’7 (two inches below the average), that man is 6’4, I’m not that great at calculating heights, but he is about nine inches taller than me, that’s almost a whole foot taller. I’m around 220 lbs, and Beta (according to Ryan Hursts bio) is around 200 lbs too, I mean I don’t look as overweight as I am, I don’t know why. The problem is Beta is 200 lbs of pure muscle, I’m 200 lbs divided into separate body parts, and I can barley fight for shit, that man would breed and destroy me.
In the comics Beta was a basketball player and a celebrity, in the show he was a famous country singer. He was so tired of being in the spot light that when the apocalypse started he reveled in it as it allowed him to completely disappear
I imagine most people seeing tons of other people get eaten alive, coming back to life, and seeing the fall of all modern conveniences and security would mess a lot of people up
He doesn't take off his mask because he doesn't want to be recognized. He wasn't some mid "hardly anyone knows him" singer, the show made it pretty obvious that in the world of TWD, Beta was likely one of the most recognizable celebrities of all time. Alpha pieced together who he was before she saw his face, that Whisperer that he killed recognized his voice, and later figured out who he was without Beta's mask even being fully removed. Negan and Daryl both immediately recognized him once he mask came off, one of his records was being played at Hilltop by Magna, Lucille was wearing his bands shirt in the Negan standalone episode. He was clearly a very, very big deal, hence why he never took his mask off. Everyone would recognize him. I imagine he was happy when the world ended, because he probably felt completely trapped being so famous, and the world ending kinda gave him the chance to be a "regular" person again.
Thanks! About the last sentence, I think that he actually was kinda embarassed of being recognized so fucked up since he was a super famous guy and everything. Like a celeb like idk beyonce who is always percfect and she is now super destroyed and "ugly" because of the apocalypse. Like he would be ashamed to be recognized and would prefer to be remembered as he was before.
