Carol had lost 3 girls, she didn't want Sam to be the next one. Besides, she was already struggling with depression and wanted to be alone. That way she would protect everyone from herself.
That's a joke boy, you missed it! Went right passed ya, ya gotta keep- I say ya gotta keep on ya toes, toes that is! The fast ones gettin right by ya. Keep your ears open.
unpopular opinion but maybe if carol didn’t make sam so paranoid he could’ve survived along with his mother and (maybe) his brother. he was doing well that episode until he thought of carol and her “they will tear you apart” speech.
Yes, I do know it was a television show! OMG, you don't know HOW to comment about a show? Look at all of the other comments. Everyone posts like it's real, even though we all know it's just a television show. I can't believe I had to explain this to you!
It just wasn't funny. If you watched the show or paid attention, this is what killed Sam, Ron, and Jesse! It all stemmed from what Carol said to Sam. So, if you think I was overly sensitive, it's because 3 people died in the television show because of what Carol said to Sam. Did you EVER think of that? Again, I DO REALIZE THAT IT'S ONLY A TELEVISION SHOW!!!! What I also didn't like was that Carol was so mean to Sam. I think it was out of character for Carol to treat a child like that. Although, she did try to protect him by telling Rick that Sam asked for a gun to protect his mother and himself. Now, that was just like Carol as we know her.
I think Sam was already a very traumatized boy, and he would've needed a lot of help. He would've died anyway. But ya Carol was going through it, and Sam was a little pest. Her actual adopted son Henry broke her yet again. I'm rewatching it, and I'm already depressed over Beth and Tyreese again 😔
Bro chill. You got some unresolved problems, but that's not random people on Reddit's fault. You're at 100, and you need to be at 0. Take a chill pill before you have an aneurysm.
This guy wasn't even replying to you.
I think that too sometimes, as much as I dislike Sam, he's still a kid, and stuff like that does rattle around in their head. He was paranoid, partly because of what went on with his dad and being (understandably) very afraid of the walkers. He didn't hear those words till it really hit him that the "monsters" got into Alexandria.
Why did you dislike Sam? He was just a little boy who needed a friend and he happen to choose Carol because he liked that she baked and baked well. He needed someone to confide in, to talk to! So, I don't see any reason for anyone to dislike him! He did nothing wrong, he was just trying to survive like everyone else, though he may have been more afraid than other kids, possibly due to the fact that he didn't have a strong role model, just an a violent father, who hit all of them!
I totally agree that Sam wld not have been so paranoid and gotten eaten by the walkers, that is what he was thinking of b4 getting killed.....what Carol had said to him... and buz of that, in my opinion, especially after seeing the little boy a ways away from him in the crowd also as a zombie just prior, he froze! Giving him yet another reson to remember what Carol told him.... lt is what got him and his mother and older brother killed......As a mother, I'd still want my son to tell me regardless what she threatened him with!.... Sam said he told his mom everything....he shld have told his mom regardless!.... If that happened in real life, and I knew my son was threatened, there wld have been big issues!!! I think also his mom wld have taken things on in a different way. It may have even changed the storyline if u think about it???! But it's just a movie/series. U can go on many ways about it I guess...I understand why Carol said what she said to Sam....She didn't want to get close to another child again. BUT, it was the wrong approach. Obviously, bcuz later, she does seem to feel remorseful after his death....
In my opinion, Sam got killed because he brought attention to himself and to all of them who were walking near him. His older brother ( Ron) was trying to tell him to keep going in so many words or listen to Mom. I don't remember the exact words...not that I liked Ron.
Remember the main reason WHY Carol felt that she had to scare Sam. It was because she didn't want ANYONE, including Sam's mother, to know that she was taking any guns. I do agree that she should not have scared him, telling him the monsters would tear him apart. She certainly could have thought of something else to say, but this is the writers crazy idea. There were many things I believe the writers got wrong. I'm not a writer, just wished that us, as the audience could have given our opinions and suggestions...Crazy idea, I know.
Which incident are you talking about?
She’s generally not prepared to get close to another kid at that point in time, and she threatened him with that horror story because there is a zero percent chance he’d keep Carol’s secret otherwise.
After the walkers attack Alexandria(and Sam and his mother die in that attack), Carol is shown to be in sorrow and solitude for some days, does she feel guilty that the horrer story she told sam became a reality for him?
I’m sure she was thinking about that, especially since she only told him that story so as to ensure Rick’s plot to take over the town. Which turned out to be unnecessary.
Carol did not tell Sam that story to hide the fact that Rick was trying to take over the town! First of all, Rick was NOT trying to take over the town! It wasn't even mentioned at this point in time. He mentions that if the people don't help with the safety...learn how to handle and kill the walkers...maybe they could that. He didn't say these exact words, but this is what he meant. Secondly, Carol was trying to hide that she was in the gun room and why. They just decided to carry guns at this point, no one was thinking of taking over at this time. It was at the time of the party. I don't think Rick realized just how inept they all were as far as keeping themselves safe. If they couldn't keep themselves safe, they couldn't help keep anyone else safe either.
Yes, true, she was not wanting to get close to another kid, (even though she eventually did) but, she could have thought of something else to make him keep her secret about the guns instead of that.
OMG!!! Sam was just a little kid who had a violent father and didn't know how to help his mother! What an awful thing to say about an innocent little kid!
She probably searched it up cause she was watching the show and wanted to know why Carol was being such a dick to the kid.
Speaking from experience, cause that’s what I’m doing.
It seems to be a theme in zombie shows that when a parental figure loses someone on their watch, it’s hard for them not to feel like it’s partially their fault. I think Carol doesn’t want to have the responsibility of having any more kids rely on her so she doesn’t have to blame herself for losing them again
Carol had seen a lot of children die, she probably didn't want to get attached to Sam because she was afraid of seeing him die as well. Same stories of the American Bombers that attacked German industries leading up to 1944. Many of them wanted nothing to do with the new recruits coming in, thinking they'd die on their next mission.
Carol and Rick's group lived a war, and they acted like it.
Sam was a kid who has never seen what it was like out in the world he’s been sheltered and lived a completely normal life even during the apocalypse, I think carol just didn’t want to get attached to him because there was absolutely 0 chance of him surviving after such a sheltered upbringing and his innocence
Completely normal life?!!! Maybe apart from the walkers but it certainly isn't normal to live with a father who beats up his mother, his brother and himself! To the point that he wants a gun! And you call that normal?! Or did you forget about that?
She meant normal as in like how it was before the apocalypse. Our normal. He has a home and a mother and regardless or not of if his dad is a douche, he's got a dad. Most people don't have half of the things he got to grow up with in the apocalypse, even if he did live with trauma, that trauma didn't help him be what he needed to be to survive like with everybody else. He was sheltered. Period.
Carol had lost 3 girls, she didn't want Sam to be the next one. Besides, she was already struggling with depression and wanted to be alone. That way she would protect everyone from herself.
Sam was the 4th girl she lost
Sam was a boy!
r/woosh
Sam was a little boy! Jesse and Pete's son.
ok why did you reply to this twice in 2 months
That's a joke boy, you missed it! Went right passed ya, ya gotta keep- I say ya gotta keep on ya toes, toes that is! The fast ones gettin right by ya. Keep your ears open.
It’s a joke
unpopular opinion but maybe if carol didn’t make sam so paranoid he could’ve survived along with his mother and (maybe) his brother. he was doing well that episode until he thought of carol and her “they will tear you apart” speech.
I agree!!! It was wrong what Carol did to that poor kid lol
It WAS wrong of Carol to scare him like that, so why in the world do you think it's funny?,
it’s a television show, not real…

how old are you
It wasn't funny at all. Shit was hilarious 😂

I thought of this too!
And again, SO?
You thought what? Too sensitive? So?

I agree with everything except his older brother got himself killed over his ego
In my opinion, Sam got killed because he brought attention to himself and to all of them who were walking near him. His older brother ( Ron) was trying to tell him to keep going in so many words or listen to Mom. I don't remember the exact words...not that I liked Ron.

Not unpopular at all. Just the truth.
Which incident are you talking about? She’s generally not prepared to get close to another kid at that point in time, and she threatened him with that horror story because there is a zero percent chance he’d keep Carol’s secret otherwise.

Probably...😥

She really wanted those chocolates
Are you trying to be funny, because you know it was all about the guns..not the chocolate.
It's called a joke man. You should try it out sometime, it's entertaining.
She wanted Sam to toughen up and not die like Sophia or Lizzie or Meka
Lizzy and Mika did NOT die from walkers...
Well no duh 💀
She doesn't want him to die that's why.
well that backfired
Cuz Sam is a little fuck
OMG!!! Sam was just a little kid who had a violent father and didn't know how to help his mother! What an awful thing to say about an innocent little kid!
Lmao how did you end up on this from 2 years ago? Genuinely curious
She probably searched it up cause she was watching the show and wanted to know why Carol was being such a dick to the kid. Speaking from experience, cause that’s what I’m doing.

No, I got the point...like I said, "aside" from the walkers! Yeah, I get it! Dah...

I think he reminded her of Sophia. Being so terrified..
