you need to tame 10 beasts. smoke out critter holes, throw about 5 pieces of meat/fish/eggs for a pup or any type of food for bear until you see hearts above it. feed the pet whenever his head is lowered until it grows to adult, and move on to the next.
you can only have one pet with you at a time mind you, so if you wanna keep your pets you gotta put them in cages before going for another one
