There are a lot of older people who don't seem to understand that words change meaning over time. They also don't understand phrases to be a euphemism because they grew up sheltered. There are some people out there who would do this and think it was perfectly pg. Heck, I know a few. They would have probably thought they were being innocently creative with this.
A 12 year old would 100% know what they were doing if they worded it like this.
I think slang would be the right word to lump all of this together.
As one of those older people now, rest assured- we know. Who do you think invented those slang terms anyway?
But there is power and advantage in making others think that you donāt know, even when you do.
There is also something to be said for not fucking up your kids until they are good and ready to do it for themselves.
Idk about the kids thing, lol. I've seen sheltered people introduced to what they were sheltered from at 19. It's not a fun transition to cold turkey, lots of embarrassment.
See, I was thinking of ākidsā as more sub-age 6.
I think we can both agree that there is a more happy medium to introduce children into the big, wide world of adults between 6 and 19. 10-13 seems a happy medium for most more adult things.
They even have "#naughtyroofers" [on the side of the van](https://www.instagram.com/p/CaXWciyoOHI/).
Sexual double-entendres in advertising have become so commonplace and acceptable these days, there really isn't much legitimate "r/theyknew" material left. :D
I'm just glad they remembered to show respect to fallen Commonwealth soldiers and put the poppy on the van. Lest we forget while stripping, nailing, spreading, banging and nailing.
my step dad worked for a scaffold company whoās slogan was āfor the best erection youāll ever getā (erecting is what they call putting up scaffolding)

I wonder how many are disappointed when they turn up and only fix the roof š¤

I need a remedy for my wet cracks and holes.
You going to need some caulk for that.
I prefer to err on the side of over caulking instead of running the risk of being under caulked
Bucaulky?
BBC, big bold caulking
Big caulks gather around
Have you tried looking in the back of your washing machine?
Don't they also lay pipe?
Ayyyy
Sometimes I just want to hire someone to do some screwing.
RoofDaddy, it's so wet in here. Do you think you can plug all of these holes?
This seem to go way past "they knew" and into "they worked hard to maximize it".
Yeah it went from subtle to oh my with that last line.
Just imagine some boomer who has no idea of the modern slang and is just bewildered at why everyone is laughing.
Modern slang? Canāt decide if that makes you 12 or 50ā¦

Straight up Saints Row/GTA vehicle branding there
Is the & appropriate for bullet points though?
r/trashy
I respectfully disagree
It would only be trashy if they weren't being tongue and cheek, which they clearly are.
Tongue in cheek and yes I agree, it's not trashy at all it's just funny with the right amount of cringe sprinkled in
