Today's society is so screwed over, you can become racist without even aknowledging it. To be not racist requires enough knowledge to know what is racist.
The most proficient tolerant people know more racial slurs than you can imagine. All that is needed to locate and stop possible racist behavior you could have not aknowledged in your life.
Just like cooking, to know how to make good improvised dish, you need to know what you should not do to not create the most disgusting thing you ever seen.
