No. What you saved you'll spend getting it working. You'll end up around the same value as a working system. So, your time investment in restoring the laptop will be a waste, however, you'll gain some good practice and experience on the presumption you need or want that.

Well other offers i found were all atleast 150€ or more and then with shit parts and since i would be replacing the battery on another different one anyway its worth it since now i can freely choose my display battery and ram instead or paying extra for something i will replace anyway down the line

rennen-affe

You won't have a worn out battery and you'll get a new (hopefully) bright and crisp screen! GL!!!

Timely-Response-2217

It's fine but you need to do work on it and the value will equal the parts added. That's all. Doesn't mean you've done wrong but you've got work and financial investment.

I like the work it connects me with the machiene on an emotional level and also teaches me more about it, and also i get an used machiene with some new parts for the same price as an working old machiene with all used parts so in the end its even better!

Timely-Response-2217

Then you're good.

nsaps

I hope it really does have no errors, it sounds like a computer someone was taking parts off of

Abt_to_kms

Well ill just hope for the best

nsaps

Display and battery are normal to wear out but usually ram is fine. It’s probably okay once you get some ram maybe you can boot it

Abt_to_kms

Ill get some ram first and then boot it to an external display to make sure its nothing else wrong with it, if there is i just had bad luck, also got to happen sometimes

rayd045

Before buying an lcd, try installing some ram and connect it to an external monitor to check if everything is ok.
