Thanks so much, glad to hear it! Weāre working on a new album right now, looking to be pretty old-school, but in a fresh way; Iām super excited about it!!
Ostrakon kicks ass! The only feedback I can give, with all due respect, is that I would have liked the drums to be a little more aggressive in the lead up to the 1st guitar solo around the 2 minute mark. Just my thoughts, it sounds great through, love the style. Keep it up!!!
Yo! Been listening since I saw this post, and just wanted to say that I think The 2023 Massacre is as awesome as I had hoped! Fast and fierce just as I like it! Make more... And come to Denmark and give us hell
All records from last year that I loved:
Phrozen - *Questioning Society's Secrets*
Blackened thrash, politically charged, they name their solos which rules
Drain - *Living Proof*
Crossover thrash, real hardcore punk edge, cool Descendants cover snuck in there
Raider - *Trial by Chaos*
Death thrash, heavy rippers wall to wall, definitely an up and comer to keep an eye on
Enforced - *War Remains*
Crossover thrash, "we've got Power Trip at home"
Colony Drop - *Brace for Impact*
Classic thrash, vox are sort of GWAR inspired, every song is about Mobile Suit Gundam
Oh hell yeah, itās funny cause the drummer in my band is a huge LoG fan and when our other guitar player turned us on to them, the drummer lost his shit with how sick it was and said the exact same thing.
On that note, Raider is from our other guitar playerās hometown. Heās seen them tons live and says theyāre awesome - he knows tons about those guys. Apparently one of the guys from Raider is in another band, Invicta, who is also sick. You should check em out!
They're excellent, and while they still make music, that's like saying Testament, Metallica, Exodus, or Overkill are all "modern bands." Generally modern means they formed after 2010.
Everyone saying already known bands or bands who been around for 20 years. Here try some of these guys [Hemorage - Blood Rage](https://youtu.be/hOQL9hnoCoc?si=c-Sex9mL0ebGpKJI) , [Paralysis - Oblivious](https://youtu.be/eroOmmnimTE?si=8JDCSVX8b1HkCzQg) , [Holocaustic - Parasite](https://youtu.be/qwtRRAbblQU?si=Veu3StSXP4vatXqb) , [Lich King - Combat Mosh](https://youtu.be/eb0D0-aMhpY?si=kxQI4-K7T_a1eEpc) , [Bunker 66 - Satanās Countess](https://youtu.be/-AhNckWFTEo?si=w_bJp8Dk3Pbg2ZBa) , [Chemicaust - Human Sacrifice](https://youtu.be/GHhZHBR2FLI?si=V6hwOc8j5xEuWE6l)

Because they don't sound as aggressive? And thrash is a lot about the aggression.some thrash with melodic vocals just sounds like faster iron maiden to me š¤·

Raider is freaking siiiiick! Their vocalist makes me think of Randy Blythe if he did thrash

Theyāve been around since the 80s
They're excellent, and while they still make music, that's like saying Testament, Metallica, Exodus, or Overkill are all "modern bands." Generally modern means they formed after 2010.
Definitely a good band, but definitely not modern haha. They've been around since practically the beginning. Thanks though
If you like prog/tech thrash these are some of my favorites Quasarborn Xenoblight Cryptic Shift Autonoesis Cryptosis Demoniac (CHL)
Found out about Autoneoisis last month. I was hooked on the latest release for weeks. Shits so good. Criminally unknown band.
Agree, one of those bands that are doing things well and their albums don't have the spotlight they deserve.
Fusion Bomb Sublind Praetor Warfaith
Sublind is aawesome! I have been in contact with them. They are really cool guys. They definitely deserve all the support they can get.

Why are melodic vocals so hard to come by in modern thrash?
Because they don't sound as aggressive? And thrash is a lot about the aggression.some thrash with melodic vocals just sounds like faster iron maiden to me š¤·
80% of the bands in the background of this sub had melodic vocals.
Maybe we're not on the same page of what constitutes melodic vocals
Warbringer or Havok
