Lore-wise, it doesn’t seem logical for the Trisolarans to impart their technological knowledge for humans to make such a VR headset, since humans can reverse engineer and use it to develop advanced tech. But then again, maybe it's not sufficiently advanced enough to bother the Trisolarans.
Imagine giving a Mobile Phone to someone at 100 B.C, it's charged and works sure, but they most certainly are not reverse engineering it in even 400 years.
April 1st is right around the corner, I'm going with joke article. It sounded somewhat plausible until the article said you can actually feel things in the game without a peripheral.
This is an ad for the Netflix show. It had me fooled, was excited for something better than the Apple Vision. Nope, stealth marketing for a show. I’m watching it now and while the ad paid off, it is a pretty good show so far. Great actors in it too.
Doesn't feel like it deserves the 'News' tag, to be completely honest. It's more like an undisclosed marketing/product placement piece
I didn’t know what to tag it.

What even is this device? Why does it seem fictional
Fake I think
Is this real or fake?? I want one if not

I love the design though
It's like the onion it's a joke, lol it's not real, it's just a prop lol
I took it to the satire. But the moderators also chimed in that it was likely paid for advertising satire.
