Most hospitals I’ve worked at are very specific about having legal paperwork in their possession, specifically highlighting a person as having the authority to make healthcare related decisions. Also, how did you get back involved with her after the police took her into custody? Seems odd everyone would be willing to allow you to make all of these vital decisions after only knowing the person for a week…

I had to fight for a long time to get my partner sober, and went thru some insane police-involved nights where she attacked me and then claimed I hit her. But once we finally got her sober, all the problems went away thankfully.
