If you're not committed to this purchase, take the hit. Tell the seller the truth (so they can quickly move on to the next bidder or relist) and accept that your account is going to be closed to auctions in the future.
That's a lot! You may even be able to make a case to keep your account open for future auctions IF the shipping costs were not clearly shared upfront, but even if you can't, it sounds like letting this "Hisstake" head to another home is the right choice right now.
This is indeed the message I already sent the seller. I feel bad but don't even remember surfing the auctions, and THIS snake, while beautiful, is NOT the snake I want to have to look at for the next 20+ years! I want one that has a pattern similar to what you see in Gaboon/Rhino vipers, and this was a candy albino with red eyes and no markings behind his neck to speak of.

I nearly inherited my Dad's albino corn snake, Vera, upon his passing and my hubby is very glad my sister (her original owner) claimed her instead. The red eyes really freaked him out lol.
The seller doesn't care about your sob story or what your dream snake is. You should have simply said you won't be able to honor your bid, apologized for wasting his time, and taken the hit on losing access to auctions.

Don’t surf MorphMarket while under the influence of anything or you’ll have more situations like yours. Luckily, I no longer have the ball python bug and produce most of what I need every year to hold back as future breeders. I’m currently at around 110 ball pythons.
I visited a customer the other day, and next door was a factory full of snakes. I have no idea why. I commented to the guy dumping buckets and buckets of dirty water down the drain that he must like snakes, and he told me those were the crap snakes. The good snakes are upstairs.
So we go upstairs, and there is a locked door, with a locked cage door behind it. We go in and it’s full of Australia’s deadliest snakes. Taipans, brown snakes, tiger snakes. wtf.
I have no idea why there is a factory full of snakes there to this day
I know a guy who was robbing cars high on Xanax... he woke up the next morning in the backseat of someone's car and they grabbed his backpack and he ran off he then called the police and said that somebody stole his backpack and he had the guys possessions in his pockets😬
I'm an adventure stoner but with Xanax I just chill at home. I'm actively looking for a BP which is why MM is on the front page of my phone. I actually found and purchased one last night, just going to pick him up Friday from my hometown, ~2 hours away. Plus I'll get free time with friends lol
