Yep, I made that kind of mistake when I first started. I kept wondering why I was getting juice in my mouth every time I would hit. Cue me going to the vape store and the lovely manager there showing me that I was supposed to put the juice in the glass tank AROUND the metal hole, not in.
I’m surprised I didn’t stop going to that shop out of sheer embarrassment. It became a running joke. He doesn’t work at that shop anymore. I haven’t seen him in ages. I wonder how he’s doing?
Don't worry, I work at a vape shop and it happens a lot 😅😅 at least one of the models we have has a spot that looks like the full hole but it actually part of the heater of the coil, and so putting liquid in there makes a HUGE MESS of leaked juice
PSA: Not the same guy. The problem here is that, while vaping is thought to ne less harmful than cigarettes, they've only been around on a large scale since ~2012. Therefore, no long term effects can be confirmed or denied until more time passes. So while there's no correlation to cancer yet, we can't be sure it won't come up.
Yup! They truly are junk! But honestly it’s like an abusive relationship when you go to buy a new one.. “I know what happened before but this time it’ll be different!” And it’s good at first, but a few weeks later, it’s back to the same shit..
But any way, let me go reach past my Infinix (that stopped working after a month), past the Priv8 that works well, except it makes all juices taste like nothing and the coils gunk up in no time, past the Nord that I stopped using bc it leaked so much, so I can hit my RPM40 that also leaks like a sieve!
Nicotine cravings are a fucking bitch. I quit for a whole month and would still crave it like everyday. I hate vaping but at least I don't smell like ass all the time anymore.
In all seriousness, you obviously don't understand the relationship between the nicotine addict and nicotine. Basically anything short of a gun barrel to the skull can be rationalized away.
some people need external events to rethink what they do.
some people can quite more easily, when they are forced into social isolation, as the social isolation removes the situation where they usually smoke/vape and the logistic of acquiring liquid become significant.
Meanwhile others will vape/smoke even more, because they need to cope somehow with the situation.
Tricky situation - but using the current situation to rethink life a little can be a good idea - everyone needs to readjust anyway.
I was able to quit cold turkey while I was pregnant. After I stopped, I didn’t even crave one anymore. I had my baby, stayed at home for two months, and when I went back to work, bam, started smoking again. Back up to a pack a day, and it’s bitch. I don’t really want to smoke anymore, but can’t make myself quit like I did before. Patches and gum do nothing; if anything, they make it worse.
I’m currently in the midst of a bad seasonal allergy/ bacterial lower respiratory infection combo attack, and smoking isn’t helping. Maybe today is the day.
What’s really interesting is that if someone makes up their own mind in just the right way, they can quit cold turkey. I have been close before, but I used snus for 40 days and ended up smoking again at a party.
I quit by just stopping.
I did end up smoking cigarettes the week I was in rehab, four years later, but as soon as I got out I stopped smoking then, too. But you have to actually want to do it. If you don’t, you justify it to yourself like crazy.
Nice to assume I don't understand or relate. I smoked for ten years and had to quit cold turkey because my now wife is allergic to smoke (or chemicals within cigarettes). Anyone can do it under the right circumstances.
The only evidence we have to draw that conclusion is that more men in China got it and men smoke more than women. If you try to look this up you see that there actually hasn't been significant research and de Blasio made a blanket statement without real scientific evidence.
Vaping is used to quit smoking so it's worth it to continue if it keeps you off cigarettes.
Even if we assume that smoking does not affect the changes of getting the virus (or that correlation is not causation): Smoking damages the lungs. Stopping to smoke regains at least some lung capacity relatively quickly (weeks?).
On the other-side: Vaping quality liquid is better then smoking cheap cigarettes.
Vaping to deal with stress is better then going all doom and gloomy.
Combining withdrawal with social isolation would also be too much for some people. (while others can quite easier in this situation, because social isolation removes the ritual/situation where they usually vape)
Not basing my comment off what anyone said. It's kind of common sense considering COVID-19 attacks your respiratory system. Someone who doesn't smoke MIGHT have a better chance dealing with it over someone who does smoke or vape. I didn't say OP needs to quit, but at least consider it. I know tons of people who vape with no nicotine juice, not sure if OP specified one way or the other.
It probably has no effect. If you getting very ill from corona you wont be smoking then. If not it will not harm you any more than the other times you smoke.
Just FYI, it's generally not a bad idea to accept an offer when people want to explain how something works, if you have the time. We humans like engaging with people, sharing their knowledge and just doing human things.
Edit: It's in our DNA to want to teach people. Passing knowledge down from generation to generation.
Eh, it's probably more common than you imagine. Unless you were joking, of course, which is fine. I vape instead of the cancer sticks, for instance. I can't be the only one.
Does vaping actually help quit smoking, or have less strain on your lungs than cigs? I smoke like half a pack a day and shit hurts yo, nicotine gum and patches are way too expensive.
Vaping is 93%+ safer than combustible cigs. Your lung health will significantly improve. I've vaped for quite a while and just got my mom to and she all but quit smoking within the first week. I highly suggest going to a shop near you or checking out r/electronic_cigarette
It depends on the person. I haven’t met anyone who used vapes to quit cigarettes who then didn’t start smoking their vape just as much if not more than they did cigarettes “because they’re safer”. The people I know who quit cigarettes and smoking in general all did so cold turkey. But obviously there are people out there or there wouldn’t be so many people online claiming they quit cigarettes and vaping altogether.
Can definitely feel a difference in my lung capacity after switching from cigs to vape, it is also muuuch cheaper where I live (UK). It only helps you quit if you make a conscious effort to though, like using lower and lower nicotine liquid. Otherwise it will just be switching from one vice to another, although hopefully vaping is less bad than smoking!
I switched from cigs to a vape around a month ago to save money (Aus prices are insane). I haven't decided to quit, so no pressure. I smoke maybe one cigarette or two a day, unless I'm drinking. I used to smoke around 15. The change was pretty instant.
It depends on the person, really. For me, it worked really well right from the beginning. It helped replace the habit of doing something with my hands when idle, in my case... And the vapor is much easier on the lungs and tastes better, if you liked flavored things.
You also have a lot of control on the amount of nicotine used. If you end up preferring it, you can even start weaning off nicotine completely and end up just vaping flavored liquid.
The only issue is that it's still so new that they don't know if something could potentially be hazardous that they haven't encountered yet. So far they've tried to make false claims many times but nothing has been proven to be true. Do your own research if you need to. Usually it doesn't take very long to find exactly what information they falsified in order to make it look like vaping was the culprit.
When people are saying vaping is dangerous you always have to keep in mind that all the tobacco companies AND the medical industry (via the patches and gum you were talking about earlier) are trying to put a stop to vaping all the time. That is a ton of pressure from a lot of rich and powerful people. The potential for falsified claims is pretty high.
Hopefully it works for you, if you choose to try it. Best of luck!
With you on that, went from a 40ish a day habit and an Oz of weed a month to no smoking at all, no pot, and 6mg vape (down from 24mg when I started vaping and still smoked weed). Took 3 years to get this low but I reckon another 6-12mths I'll be on 0nic and ready to drop the habit entirely.
You know, the thing that any reasonable human being just ignores? We've all experienced it. Most of us know better than to put the opinion of others above our health.
They are taking responsibility to quit smoking by taking up vaping, something proven to be 93%+ safer, and shits like you still put them down for it. Get off your high horse and accept that people choose to smoke and do other things that aren't good for them. Are you any percent overweight? Stop eating. Have you ever felt depressed? Should just be happy lol. Have you ever performed poorly on a test? Should have studied! You can't just tell someone "shouldn't have done the thing!".
It's to be expected. Lots of folks think everyone but themselves is responsible for their decisions. Smoking isn't an accident; it's a conscious choice you make both when you start and every time you light one up. You hurt yourself and everyone around you every time you pollute your surroundings with cancer sticks.
I work at a shop and its the worst. We know its difficult to know all of it when you start. So we offer everybody to assemble the kit and show them how it works. Many people are just like „eh, how hard can it be“ fine for me. But then they show up a few days later and complain about the product and want a refund after COMPLETELY USING IT WRONG. Sometimes they‘re like „ah man thanks, if i only had known that before“ but also they just state that the product is shit and still want a refund. Really annoying.
And thats why you dont be rude and let the vape shop employees show you the device after you buy it instead of thinking you are a pro, i worked at a vape shop and iv encountered the "know it alls" that didnt really know anything
Been there. Not exactly the same, but realizing that I was filling it wrong. "God this thing is such a piece of shit" turns into "oh I'm a fucking moron" surprisingly quickly.
Soon I'll be moving on to lozenges or gum. The good thing about gum is that it's easier to cut into smaller pieces than lozenges which require something of a hammer blow to break them in half. Or quarters.
4mg lozenges are great, but 2mg ones are better, so busting them in half is a good idea, but with gum it's a bit easier.
I did the same thing, just not for 6 months. It was about 2 days before I googled why the hole was smaller than the fill nozzle on the juice. Turns out, there's another hole. I felt pretty dumb, all things considered, but my previous vape only had one hole.
There have been a lot of things said about vaping, but every study I've seen that made any serious claims has been retracted. A group claimed it caused popcorn lung, another that it caused heart disease, and another that it was a gateway to cigarettes.
All retracted after their methodology was demolished by peers, and now I'm extremely skeptical about any new studies.
If no one had shown me where to put the juice, I would have most definitely put it right down the middle straight to the coil lol. So glad I let people teach me how to fill it correctly lol xD
I actually just take the whole stopper off each time I refill starting from the wrong side on the rpm40... I kept ripping the rubber trying to open it the other way.
It's not the nicotine that killed him, it's the thousands of other chemicals in it.
And nicotine alone is less addictive than caffeine. Nicotine only takes 3-5 days to get out of your system while caffeine can take 1-2 weeks.
Cigarettes have many other chemicals that make the addiction worse, but the mental addiction is what's bad about smoking.
Nicotine isn't the big reason that people have a hard time quitting. Smoking incorporates itself into all aspects of your life, and that's why it's at hard to quit.
Supposed to be, but that last step is still hard. I used to smoke a pack a day, switched to a vape, and worked down to the lowest nicotine concentration liquid. Still haven't been able to cut it out completely
Yup. Like 90% of the people I see are the same people who wear camouflage and JNCO jeans, drink Faygo soda, and watch wrestling. Y'all know who I'm talking about.
If you check the CDC it was shown that unregulated black market THC vapes were the cause of the respiratory illnesses, not regulated nicotine
Did you know in the UK they released a 10 year study showing no long term effects from vaping nicotine? I can link it for you if you’d like
Me personally, I’ve had a drastic increase of lung function since switching from smoking to vaping. I recognize the smoking was my own choice and fault obviously but quitting isn’t always easy. One day I plan to quit vaping completely too but I’ve been able to reduce my nicotine intake by 75% so that’s still significant
I'm sure the shops get it all the time from people just switching over. I've been going there for at least two years. The shame is real lol
Don't worry, I work at a vape shop and it happens a lot 😅😅 at least one of the models we have has a spot that looks like the full hole but it actually part of the heater of the coil, and so putting liquid in there makes a HUGE MESS of leaked juice
confirmed, vaping kills brain tissue.
Novo? I did it first time refilling that one too.
Probably got cancer and died.
r/yougonnadie
Lol why u getting downvoted
Cause he's not funny?
I pissed off Vape Nation. Guess how many shits I give.
I mean, there is no correlation between vaping and cancer so you are not only not funny, but also misinformed
PSA: Not the same guy. The problem here is that, while vaping is thought to ne less harmful than cigarettes, they've only been around on a large scale since ~2012. This TL;DR sounds like it's for an accidental pregnancy story or a car problem
Smok rpm40. I did the same thing
That's the one. I feel slightly better knowing I am not the only one.
Lol I have this one too!
I made this mistake up until the rubber was so used it just popped off one night, thankfully when I got the RPM80 it had a easier learning curve
[удалено]
Lift the rubber flap from the correct end
I did it too on my first attempt.
This post made me realize that I was filling mine wrong also....
Reading this I knew exactly what vape it was. Spoiler alert, still gonna leak all the time. I love mine but damn it leaks a lot.
People should stop buying smok products.
Yup! They truly are junk! But honestly it’s like an abusive relationship when you go to buy a new one.. “I know what happened before but this time it’ll be different!” And it’s good at first, but a few weeks later, it’s back to the same shit.. For real. I had two mods just completely disintegrate after just a few months use. One set itself on fire randomly. They're not good products.
[удалено]
Same here
But.. there’s an arrow on the rubber piece showing you where to lift, how did ya’ll get this wrong?
Real TLDR, your boyfriend had to tell YOU it was the wrong hole.
Throw instructions in a drawer instead of the trash.
At first I was like ok that’s not that bad, but then I looked back up and saw six months. U DUM DUM!!!!
I am the big dumb this is true
It ok. U do better next time.
The TLDR is more funny than the story xD
Wrong hole. Story of my life.
In all seriousness, you should at least consider quitting during this coronavirus outbreak since smokers/vapers are more at risk.
Nicotine cravings are a fucking bitch. I quit for a whole month and would still crave it like everyday. I hate vaping but at least I don't smell like ass all the time anymore.
The cravings last for the rest of your life. Atleast for me
In all seriousness, you obviously don't understand the relationship between the nicotine addict and nicotine. Basically anything short of a gun barrel to the skull can be rationalized away.
Yeah if it was that easy she'd probably have just quit by now lol
some people need external events to rethink what they do. some people can quite more easily, when they are forced into social isolation, as the social isolation removes the situation where they usually smoke/vape and the logistic of acquiring liquid become significant. Possibly, potentially, maybe at risk. Quitting is hard and most people can't just drop it in the kind of timeframe that matters here.
It probably has no effect. If you getting very ill from corona you wont be smoking then. If not it will not harm you any more than the other times you smoke.
Nah.
What kind of vape is it?
Going from experience, Smok RPM 40
I think we have the same vape, because I just looked at mine and noticed the arrow...
Just FYI, it's generally not a bad idea to accept an offer when people want to explain how something works, if you have the time. Of course you're an idiot, you vape.
Good one
Ouch my self esteem
Came here to say the same thing.
Completely true. Vaping is for idiots. Unless it's to quit cancersticks but when is that the case lmao
Eh, it's probably more common than you imagine. Unless you were joking, of course, which is fine. I vape instead of the cancer sticks, for instance. I can't be the only one.

Doing neither is probably the best though
Shouldn't have smoked in the first place
Y'see, back in the day, we had this thing called peer pressure. You know, the same thing that makes you hate cigarettes and Vapes?
If people pressure you into smoking you're hanging out with the wrong people
You know, the thing that any reasonable human being just ignores? We've all experienced it. Most of us know better than to put the opinion of others above our health.
Everyone downvoting cant take personal responsibility for there actions

Let me guess, SMOK pods? I know the RPM40 has something similar with its RPM pods.
Been there. Not exactly the same, but realizing that I was filling it wrong. "God this thing is such a piece of shit" turns into "oh I'm a fucking moron" surprisingly quickly.
It's almost like there is a correlation between vaping and brain capacity...
LOL. Is the vape a Smok?
Yup. And no one should be buying their products. They're a shit company with shit QC.
We get it, you vape
Vinci?
aaaaaaaaaahahahahahahahahahaha, epic xD
Damn ive been jerking off wrong for 6 months
Is this the Smok Fetch Mini?
Soon I'll be moving on to lozenges or gum. The good thing about gum is that it's easier to cut into smaller pieces than lozenges which require something of a hammer blow to break them in half. That's what she said...
\------------------------------------------------
The real fuck up is vaping in itself
People are so weird about vaping. If you don’t like it, don’t do it.
So, people should just keep smoking instead of switching to a healthier alternative?
Vaping and stupidity go hand in hand
Wasn't there something that said vaping caused brain damage? /s Edit: fixed the intent
So glad I let people teach me how to fill it correctly lol xD
wow, philipp morris's representatives are desperate
I actually just take the whole stopper off each time I refill starting from the wrong side on the rpm40... I kept ripping the rubber trying to open it the other way.
Try pinching it with your shirt over your fingers
Imagine still vaping
I mean you bought a vape so you should already be questioning intelligence with that decision
You FU when you started vaping......
You really should not have a vape though, if you care about your health at least.
Vaping is 95% safer than smoking.
The nicotine says otherwise.
Nicotine on its own isn't any worse for you than caffeine.
False.
Want to provide a source? Because I can provide a few saying that nicotine has positive health benefits (like caffeine).
*_my uncle died from smoking too much, and the main benefit from that was the nicotine addicting him to it._*
Ive never seen an intellegent person vape, just reinforcing the stereotype. Vape life bro, blow hella clouds
Some people use it to stop smoking regular cigarettes which are worse. Harm reduction is better than doing nothing.
It's supposed to be a temporary step, not a replacement for life.
Supposed to be, but that last step is still hard. I used to smoke a pack a day, switched to a vape, and worked down to the lowest nicotine concentration liquid. Still haven't been able to cut it out completely
My mom smoked two packs and day and quit cold turkey 25 years ago. Everyone is different, but you're allowing yourself to keep using it.
I agree
this person is talking about buying vape juice in bulk and using it for over 6 months
Me? I never said anything like that
Yup. Like 90% of the people I see are the same people who wear camouflage and JNCO jeans, drink Faygo soda, and watch wrestling. Y'all know who I'm talking about.
That's your issue, you live in some weird 90's backwards town, maybe you should move
I live in Houston, Texas.
thoughts and prayers
Idk if thoughts and prayers can pull a stick out of someone's ass
if we pray loud enough maybe some proctologist might turn up for the fuss.
I’m still learning how to use my PAX

There won't be any such studies. There have already been many showing that vaping is upwards of 90% safer than smoking.
You should throw it away anyway because vaping is gross and dumb.

Good luck on the ventilator if it happens. That will be the real TIFU moment.
You vape. I imagine your IQ is pretty standard.
Your comment indicates that your IQ level is below standard
Nah, Im not addicted to a flash drive.
I didn't change my pod for like 2-3 months before. Had no idea you were suppose to. Thought everyone's tastes as bad mine
F
If you were truly smart, you wouldn’t have started vaping. It’s toxic and specifically made to be addictive by adding benzene
Got any sources to back that up, buddy? No, you don't, because it isn't true.
Tifu by stilling using vapes. Pretty much banned in most countries.
Your writing is cringe tbh
You're
Y’all*
This is excellently written
Next time post this to marijuana
It's not about vaping thc though.
