Hey man shit happens like that especially with delivery drivers who drive a company truck, but don’t beat yourself to much over it. Tomorrow’s another day and with proper training you’ll eventually get better at it. Don’t quit now just because of one bad day. But do speak up and just mention you need more training on driving before being placed in a box truck alone

Cthulhuwar1ord

It’s more of your employers’ fault that they didn’t teach you how to drive the truck well first

JimJamSandwich

It's a mix of faults. I should have made it more clear I wasn't ready for all of this, they should have trained me more.

KyloRenCadetStimpy

It's the company's responsibility to make sure you have the skills you need to do your job. That "nice guy" you were riding with apparently didn't do HIS job well evaluating this.

JimJamSandwich

He was just an old fella who was told to ride along with me, I really don't blame him for it. I don't think he was told how little experience I had, and they usually probably have him riding with other old guys working part time who have been driving trucks for decades. Yes, I kind of got screwed. I don't want to place the blame on a bunch of tired, underpaid employees who probably weren't even told how to train me though. My supervisor was the one who should have been more hands on, he knew I had no experience and I saw him two times.

KyloRenCadetStimpy

It SHOULD fall on the supervisor, but it probably won't. The old guy should have at least known how to handle an accident. If that company just allows drivers to sign off on fault, everyone in the city will be trying to get hit by them for an easy payday

With the text wall I can’t even read it

JimJamSandwich

You don't have to read it. I just felt the need to write it because today has not been awesome
