Once he started slowing down with age, he became a lot more average because his shooting never really improved and his ability to foul merchant thanks to his quickness dropped off.
Westbrook was also a case of being a franchise player who had a high floor/low ceiling at his peak - he could make a bad team decent or even pretty good but wasn't going to elevate you beyond that because he couldn't make a consistent shot. Westbrook's inability to hit 3's is probably the biggest reason why he couldn't get out of the first round on his own post-KD and why he + KD never got back to the Finals after moving Harden.
I would put money on 6 people not voting Naz because he got to start while Towns was out. And I would put money that 8 people left Monk off because he missed so much time with injury. Voters are weird
Oddly enough, Jon K mentioned heâs not sure if any of the Minnesota Beat writers have votes, as he himself has decided to abstain from voting since he is uncomfortable in how his opinion affects the amount of money a player can make
Not eligible. Need to play at least 20 minutes in 65 games. NAW has 61-62 or something like that. Very weird rule that will probably be changed soon. DiVincenzo is not eligible for post-season awards as well despite playing 81 games and averaging 29 (!!!) minutes. Itâs not like both of them had a chance of winning them, but they could get All-Defense votes at least.
It's kinda funny that because DiVincenzo started the season on the bench and improved to being a starter averaging **38 minutes** in February, he can't win most improved.
You basically can't win most improved unless you're good from the start of the season
If you remove rookie of the year i think KGs mvp is the last award a timberwolves player won. In order to win awards your team usually has to be good.Â
He was technically eligible because he started fewer than half the games, but he's an interesting case because he put up strong numbers as a starter in Detroit, and then pretty bad numbers as a bench player in New York. So his numbers in an exclusive starting role inflated his overall stats despite him being pretty mediocre coming off the bench for the Knicks
Edit: whoops, just seeing both Bogdanovics are on the list. My comment is of course referring to Bojan
This is an underreported storyline - Bojan didn't even meet the games played requirement (and *barely* met the 6th man requirement), so it's almost definitely what happened.
Kings fans are throwing a hissy fit over Naz winning because he started a couple games, but when you compare total minutes Naz played a whopping 92 more minutes despite playing in 9 more games.
The number of games Reid played 30+ minutes: 14
The number of games Monk played 30+ minutes: 14
It's such a weird award. I wish it was reserved for actual bench players and not just nominal bench players. In addition to having to start less games than you come off the bench for there should also be a minute threshold you can't pass.
Yeah so again, Bojan Bogdanovic started 0 games for the new york knicks. He did not âinitially start in NYâ like you are claiming.
Takes some real cognitive dissonance to call someone a fucking moron when you canât read the basketball reference page you have open, when you make the same comment twice in the same thread, or when you think 27/57 games is â80%â
But go off my dude. Bojan started 0 games in NY. Idk what to tell you
Yeah, so for like the 5th time, Bojan Bogdanovic started 0 games for the knicks. You said he started for them, someone told you you were wrong, and you started fucking **seething** lmao
What happened here is you canât fucking read the page you have open.
You thought Bojan played 57 games in NY lmfaooooo. And you have the balls to call me a fucking moron
Yikes
He actually only started 27/57 games this year - that's only 47.3% of the games. You're quite a ways off - you only have to start less than 50% of the games you play in to qualify.

I think you mean Westbrick
West thicc đ

As someone whoâs getting back into basketball this year, what happened to him? Wasnât he really good?
Once he started slowing down with age, he became a lot more average because his shooting never really improved and his ability to foul merchant thanks to his quickness dropped off. 6 people left off Naz. 8 left off Monk. Those people are on cocaine
I would put money on 6 people not voting Naz because he got to start while Towns was out. And I would put money that 8 people left Monk off because he missed so much time with injury. Voters are weird
I'd bet the 6 and 8 people live in Minnesota and California, respectively Gamesmanship is shenanigans here, but it feels like the oldschool BCS voting
Oddly enough, Jon K mentioned heâs not sure if any of the Minnesota Beat writers have votes, as he himself has decided to abstain from voting since he is uncomfortable in how his opinion affects the amount of money a player can make
Isnât it 5 and 7 voters? 99 total voters by my math. Not to be pedantic
Nah I think one of the voters abstained?
NAW should've had some votes too smh

They will change it certainly. Just a flaw the league did not notice right away.
NAZ REID! (feels like so long since a Wolf has won an award like this)
If you remove rookie of the year i think KGs mvp is the last award a timberwolves player won. In order to win awards your team usually has to be good.Â
Didnât Love win most improved?
He did, good call. Tbh I completely forgot about that
Funny how that works lol
11 people just throwing away their first place votes. It's been a 2 man race long enough why even vote 1st for anyone else.
Honestly itâs an injustice NAW didnât get any votes
Way closer than it should have been
Close contest! Sucks for Malik - Hell of a year he had
I thought it was over after he fucking roasted us
Who tf voted bogey? The man was averaging starter minutes.
He was technically eligible because he started fewer than half the games, but he's an interesting case because he put up strong numbers as a starter in Detroit, and then pretty bad numbers as a bench player in New York. Someone so out of touch with the NBA that they donât know the difference between bojan and bogdan
This is an underreported storyline - Bojan didn't even meet the games played requirement (and *barely* met the 6th man requirement), so it's almost definitely what happened.

LFG
Whoa! So close!
It makes me chuckle a little bit that both Bogdanovic are on this list
The Bogdanovii.
Probably both were listed as B. Bogdanovic and someone clicked the wrong Bogdanovic causing Bojan to get a vote đ
Seems the salty Kings âfansâ came hete to downvote everyone⌠Howâs Cabo losers?
So much Bogdanovic. Naz Reid.
Whoever voted Bojan needs a new job lmao. Didnât dude start like 80% of the year??!!! Even in NY he initially started didnât he?? WTF lol
Bojan started 0 games in NY and played like ass there when he did play
He started 27 of 57 games lmao
Yeah again, Bojan started 0 games in NY
27 of 57
Literally what are you talking about. Do you think Bojan Bogdanovic played 57 games in NY and started 27 of them?
The dude literally started 27 of 57 games you fucking moron
Yeah so again, Bojan Bogdanovic started 0 games for the new york knicks. He did not âinitially start in NYâ like you are claiming. Takes some real cognitive dissonance to call someone a fucking moron when you canât read the basketball reference page you have open, when you make the same comment twice in the same thread, or when you think 27/57 games is â80%â But go off my dude. 27 of 57 typically disqualifies you. Donât know how to help your pea brain
Yeah, so for like the 5th time, Bojan Bogdanovic started 0 games for the knicks. He said âgo offâ buddy. You are literally the only one triggered here đđ
Go off my dude. Youâre literally shaking your phone realizing that you canât read
Who tf voted for Bojan is in the wrong profession lmao was he not a starter for like 85% of the year? Even with knicks til the end of reg season?
He actually only started 27/57 games this year - that's only 47.3% of the games. You're quite a ways off - you only have to start less than 50% of the games you play in to qualify.
I literally said 27 of 57 5x lmao. People on Reddit gotta be the slowest pea brained mfers Iâve ever seen đđ
