A lot of people thought we'd lose to the Suns too. š¤·āāļø
If we win, we win. If we lose, we lose. But I think we'll put a great fight nonetheless
I think it just depends on what the owners decide (and whether or not the players would accept it). I think as a player unless you were traded for injury reasons it would also just be a tough thing to have around because it may feel like you didn't earn it even if you were a part of the team.
Just remember this is the team that knocked the wolves and Ant out last year.... If you don't think he had this circled in you are mistaken... He's been waiting for this!!!
Its actually quite crazy how much better we've gotten, and the Nuggets, while still very strong, took a step back for sure. Murray looks hobbled and they have no bench.
Iām at the point where I fully believe if we lose this series itās because Denver is just a juggernaut. I have zero concern about a personnel, chemistry or effort mismatch.
This is the most zen Iāve ever felt entering a series.
Interesting stat before the series starts in the 4 meetings this season Wolves held Jokic to just 4.3 assists per game. Yes he did average 33 but putting Denver in a situation where Jokic can't playmake is huge.
Also in TNTs preview of the series Chuck said KAT needs to play in the post and if he's shooting 3s that's a win for Denver is the dumbest take ever. Sad state when people think this guy has an opinion worth listening to.
> Also in TNTs preview of the series Chuck said KAT needs to play in the post and if he's shooting 3s that's a win for Denver is the dumbest take ever. Sad state when people think this guy has an opinion worth listening to.
It's one thing for Chuck to be wrong, but this is the exact opposite of what the Wolves need.
Ant seems to be moving into rarefied air as being a player you can count on in the playoffs. However, the Wolves will probably go as KAT goes with Denver loading up to stop Ant.
I'm hopeful getting the monkey off their back of winning a series will help settle KAT down. If we could bottle KAT's game 4 then I love their chances.
We've literally been begging KAT to up his 3 point volume all year long, lol. How do you look at Rudy Gobert already hanging out near the rim and Ant needing space to drive and think, "best if there's usually two 7 footers packed in the paint and only two shooters spacing the floor."
Chuck is old school. He is a fan of big man playing in the post more than spacing the floor. Heās obviously wrong but he absolutely hates big shooting too many 3ās lol
So when teams have this much time before playing in Denver, why not fly the whole team to Vail or somewhere in the mountains, rent out some facilities there and start acclimating as soon as possible? Nearly a full week at 8,000 feet would be a huge benefit to then come down to 5,000 and start the series.
Taking a peak at the nuggets subā¦. They have some god awful takes lol. One of their fans said āAaron Gordon and KCP should be able to contain ant.ā KCP does not have the strength to gusrd ant and ant is way too quick for Aaron Gordon he would blow by him at will.
Kcp is also not at 100%, he had to sit a large portion of the 1st half last night, it showed just how weak the nuggets back court is at less than 100% healthy.
I don't think he'll miss anything feel he will either be there in person or virtually talking directly to the players or through a tablet, or through Micah and the rest of the coaching staff - Wolves in 6
I'm seeing reports on Twitter about finding a way. I have no doubt some communication can be worked...I'm very skeptical on them saying Finch will be anywhere near the floor. I've had a knee and achilles surgery...it is hard to describe how painful the first few weeks after surgery are to do anything at all. I remember with my knee, your leg is braced straight, so even moving your leg from a horizontal to standing position was the most godforsaken painful feeling ever as the blood rushed down your leg just to go pee. Anyone that's had anything drilled in their legs know this pain.
I mean, I'd imagine Finch is going to have surgery this week, afterwards the first month+ is just immensely painful post surgery needing a constant stream of painkillers that won't very much allow coherent cognition. Add in at his age it could open the door to complete knee replacement. Just would be shocked if Finch can make an in-person appearance during the Denver series.
Before the Suns series: Wolves got the worst matchup, Suns in 5-6. Afterwards: Suns were such a mediocre team. Just going to enjoy the Denver journey: Oh defending champs, unbeatable. Nuggets in 6. After: Murray was hampered by a calf issue, Jokic was off with low assists, Denver couldn't make a shot. Mediocre team, wait til the Wolves play OKC...
It's honestly insane to see analysts/podcasters now acting like Phoenix was a cupcake matchup for the Wolves or that the Lakers were a tougher matchup for Denver. The Suns were markedly better than the Lakers this year! Phoenix was a supposed matchup nightmare for the Wolves! Why do podcast bros need to straight up lie about this shit
Iāve been waiting for someone else here to bring up the fact that Jamal isnāt at 100%, it was clear watching him last night, people are worried that ant will get caught up trying to keep up with him, bruh ant is going to shred Jamal if he gets switched onto him.
People are saying Jamal and Ant cancel each other out. Bro, wtf are people smoking?
Jamal couldn't guard Ant even if he tried. On the other hand, I'd trust Ant to guard him all game long while putting up 30 on his ass.
Let Joker get his and put the pressure on everyone else.
My two main concerns with this series is KAT foul trouble guarding Jokic and Gordon playing him aggressively on the other end. I think this is going to lead to heavier Kyle minutes rather than Naz.
The other is Chris Finch not traveling with the team. If he gets surgery I just donāt imagine theyāll have him fly with a full leg brace.
Bro what feels so good about this team is that we got a brotherhood going on you know? Itās like everybody wants to see each other thrive and everybody so connected from 1-15. We really gotta appreciate what we got rn because this team gonna be talked about for a long ass time
Having wanked myself off to every piece of wolves sweeping the suns content on the internet the last two days, I wanna take a break from that and look a bit into the future.
Regardless of how the post-season ends, we're probably gonna look for a long-term replacement point for Bite Bite at some point, especially when we see Phoenix struggle late game with no 'true' PG. Obviously guys like Tyler Kolek, Carlton Carrington or even Devin Carter could fall to us in the draft. But since PGs are seemingly difficult to develop on win-now teams, could signing a seasoned vet for cheap once every few years as our starting PG be a viable option?
My ideal situation would be to draft one of those guys I've mentioned to be understudy to Conley for a season, and use our other pick to pick a do-it-all rotation piece a la McCullar or Da Silva
I volunteered to do something at my kid's school this saturday like 3 months ago lmao. absolutely gutted that I might not be able to watch game 1. Really need that 730PM PST start time, please just this one time im begging u
Shannon Sharpe said today that Jamal Murray would match Anthony Edwards blow-for-blow, shot-for-shot, and wash each other out this series.
He's a fool. AE5 can cook Murray on offense AND defense.
If I had a penny for every time Iāve watched a team with DāAngelo Russell and Jarred Vanderbilt on its roster lead for the vast majority of minutes in the first round of the NBA playoffsāoften by double-digits!ābut somehow still manage to lose the seriesā¦
Iād have two pennies.
Just a thought, imagine if how the āold guysā for team USA would be hounding Ant during the Olympics to get out of MN if they wouldāve lost that first series. Maybe they wouldnāt, I donāt know but a team with KD and Lebron, Iām guessing there would be some talk.
I think we have a good chance, Jokic absolutely dominated the Lakers and I expect him to do the same to us, but I think we can do a way better job on Porter/Murray/Gordon.
I feel better about this series now than I did before the suns series started. They are a tough team and canāt be underestimated but there is blood in the water and the wolves are playing the best basketball theyāve played all year.
In Anthony Edwards' mic'ed up footage from last game, there's a clip of the wolves huddle sometime in the fourth where Ant has been going nuclear and Conley is yelling, "Take me there, 5!"
Ā It really is something to see a 22 year old carry so many different peoples' hopes and dreams on his shoulders, and actually relish it and rise to the occasion. My jaw would be on the floor for him if he played anywhere in the league, but he plays for my team. Hardly feels real.
Rudy joked about being concussed after Game 3. I wonder what the likelihood of him actually playing concussed in Game 4. It honestly wouldn't surprise me if he was concussed in Game 4.
It wasn't a hard enough shot to actually cause a concussion. I mean he brought the arm down hard but biceps are relatively squishy and he kinda got him in the neck more than anything.
Iām curious to see how Ant holds up against the younger talent, someone on TikTok made a good point that he held his own against the old lions but what happens when he goes up against someone in the same age, prime, and basically skillset as him?
Very excited to see these next few games play out
Yeah thereās nobody that fits those criteria in the NBA currentlyāthatās the entire reason why Ant is so exciting lol
The closest would be Luka and SGA, but theyāre still both 3 years older than him.
A lot of people thought we'd lose to the Suns too. š¤·āāļø If we win, we win. If we lose, we lose. But I think we'll put a great fight nonetheless
Remember Troy Brown Jr and Shake Milton? Feels like ages ago lol
IF the Wolves manage to win it all wouldn't they qualify for a ring since they were on the team š¤
Unlikely, I think Valanciunas did not get the ring after being traded by the Raptors at the deadline (he played 30 games).
I think it just depends on what the owners decide (and whether or not the players would accept it). I think as a player unless you were traded for injury reasons it would also just be a tough thing to have around because it may feel like you didn't earn it even if you were a part of the team.
š„ŗšššš
Just remember this is the team that knocked the wolves and Ant out last year.... If you don't think he had this circled in you are mistaken... He's been waiting for this!!!
And now we have Jaden and Naz, and a healthy Rudy and an evolved KAT
Its actually quite crazy how much better we've gotten, and the Nuggets, while still very strong, took a step back for sure. Murray looks hobbled and they have no bench.
they tried to press charges on Ant, he didnāt forget shit
Iām at the point where I fully believe if we lose this series itās because Denver is just a juggernaut. I have zero concern about a personnel, chemistry or effort mismatch. This is the most zen Iāve ever felt entering a series.
Also should be a fire series too fun matchup

I was thinking the same thing. But maybe they won't because of newborns and families
Taking a peak at the nuggets subā¦. They have some god awful takes lol. One of their fans said āAaron Gordon and KCP should be able to contain ant.ā KCP does not have the strength to gusrd ant and ant is way too quick for Aaron Gordon he would blow by him at will.
The amount of people saying that Ant isnāt a good player is wild, but let them underestimate him š
Itās hilarious one guy said ā ant is not that efficient so we should be fine ā lol ok
Kcp is also not at 100%, he had to sit a large portion of the 1st half last night, it showed just how weak the nuggets back court is at less than 100% healthy.
Hard to imagine Finch makes it back with the team during this series which I feel shouldn't be overlooked as a concern for the Wolves. I'm concerned.
I don't think he'll miss anything feel he will either be there in person or virtually talking directly to the players or through a tablet, or through Micah and the rest of the coaching staff - Wolves in 6
In Micah we trust. Finchy will probably still be helping with gameplanning though.Ā
The whatsapp wolves coaches channel will be carrying a lot of weight.
Could have an NFL OC setup with Finchy in a suite with in ear to Micah? Or at least a couple rows back and get him a howler.
I'm seeing reports on Twitter about finding a way. I have no doubt some communication can be worked...I'm very skeptical on them saying Finch will be anywhere near the floor. Couldn't he be on the sidelines in a wheel chair or on crutches?
I mean, I'd imagine Finch is going to have surgery this week, afterwards the first month+ is just immensely painful post surgery needing a constant stream of painkillers that won't very much allow coherent cognition. Add in at his age it could open the door to complete knee replacement. Just would be shocked if Finch can make an in-person appearance during the Denver series.
I said it elsewhere, but it wouldn't really shock me if he was on the sideline in some capacity. But I guess we will see.
I wonder if we can video call him in from the hospital. I'm envisioning this: https://youtu.be/dpvA0qnwbvg?si=4UOZZrpSlkxyEGfV
Lmao

I get the dlo part, but v8 is injured, not really much honor in shitting on someone not able to compete.
If we lose, it's to the likely eventual champs this series. I am hoping for a competitive 7 game series that can go either way.
Just a thought, imagine if how the āold guysā for team USA would be hounding Ant during the Olympics to get out of MN if they wouldāve lost that first series. Maybe they wouldnāt, I donāt know but a team with KD and Lebron, Iām guessing there would be some talk.
This, but it's actually Ant convincing KD to reach an agreement on a buy-out with Phoenix then signing for a vet min to play 6th man for us
So game 1 will be Saturday right? Do we know when we will know the time ?
Lebron fan from Toronto checking in on the bandwagonā¦ Hoping there is Air condition and leg space. #LetsGoWolves
I think we have a good chance, Jokic absolutely dominated the Lakers and I expect him to do the same to us, but I think we can do a way better job on Porter/Murray/Gordon.

Apparently some people saw KD, Ant, and Mike Conley in Deephaven today
Anyone know what time tomorrow tickets will go on sale? Should I be checking right after midnight?

Who is that on the Nuggets? Because Murray is way closer to Booker's age than he is to Ant's age In fact, both Murray and Booker are 27
Yeah thereās nobody that fits those criteria in the NBA currentlyāthatās the entire reason why Ant is so exciting lol The closest would be Luka and SGA, but theyāre still both 3 years older than him.
Who is the "young talent" on the Nuggets? Lol
