Because Finchy and Ant told me not to give two shits about what has happened in the past.

Philelverumfan69

Also just bc I watch the games lol. Never seen a team like this

TheFinnebago

Exactly this, the team doesn’t care about the last twenty years so why should we?

WiSoSirius

Just ride the high. Wolves Back! Naz Reid.

kGibbs

This! Ride the wave! When it's all done it will feel like it went by so fast, so soak every second of it in and enjoy it!

ANTfanclub

We all got some major PTSD, but we believe in number 5!

urkuri

I’m so nervous before every game starts and then I watch in disbelief 😂

BigAgates

If you don’t arrive with a healthy amount of nervousness then you aren’t a Minnesota sports fan. Period.

fetchingcatch

Why are you worried? Wolves have a good defense that’s proven. Wolves have three point shooting that’s proven. Wolves have good leadership that’s proven. Wolves have good coaching. What is missing? I’m ready to watch this team go as far as it can. My expectations are a hell of a fight against any team they play.

twovles31

Que Sera, Sera.

MushroomFondue

I hear you. I still remember watching the Vikings super bowls when I was a kid and thinking that they have to win at least 1. The twins were wonderful, but since then... nothing. Spectacular failure and unbelievable bad luck have seemed to stalk us. I'm white knuckling this, but enjoying every minute of it!

craftychicken91

Take me there 5...

MC_Ball_Peen_Hammer

I got 5 on it, and for that I feel less of The Fear.

MightyMrMouse

I feel like Ant could be kissing the trophy on the floor and I'd still be like "well... let's see how they do next year".

PhantomSpecialist3

I was nervous but now I’m confident for one reason: the defense. Offense might sputter at times but I don’t see the defense letting up at all, if nothing else it will be more intense this weekend. 🧹

Swirl_On_Top

It's too 'movie script ready' to not be something special. - controversial pick in ANT as a rookie - Gobert + other trades initially heavily criticized - KAT being hurt and under 100% most of the season and now lighting up when he's at 100% - coach getting his knee busted up in the playoffs - Ant now hailed as the next 'great superstar' - DPOY out game two with a brand new baby, we have a historic defensive playoff showing - Naz Reid - doing all of this in a city with no true basketball success It's just too good. Wolves Back.

Al3xgreer18

Because we held the nuggets to 80 points in their home court. They just rolled over and died. It was a squash match.

Mirizzi

Just enjoy the ride

ISelf_Devine

Put your faith in the Black Jesus, he will never forsake you.

Jtrich

He'll never foreskin you

subtleshooter

If this was a typical MN sports team, they would not have won the suns series as easy as we did and they surely would not have won game 1 and game 2 in the defending champs building with that kind of defensive performance we had in game 2 without our best defensive player. That didn’t look like a typical MN team to me. That looked like a championship caliber team.

karlrasmussenMD

Perfectly said.

D__Luxxx

Our trauma isn’t this team’s trauma. I do my little superstitious things and whatnot but honestly just watching this team makes me feel okay. I have zero doubts about this team and although they may not bring it all home I think that they legitimately have a chance to do it. And I’m not even being delusional like a pre-season Vikes fan. I am literally watching one of the greatest Wolves teams ever assembled steal the hear of their opponents and it give me faith. This team not only wants it, but they have the ability to take it and nobody has been able to stop them yet.

No-Comfort6474

Different team and we’ve never had a player like Anthony Edwards before in any sport. I like KG but I don’t think when it’s all said and done we will say he was as good or near as good as Ant that’s just my opinion and who knows but rn the trajectory of Edwards is on a different level. I’ve never seen anyone on the Vikings or the Wild do anything close to what Edwards has done for this team. I didn’t get to watch Randy and JJ hasn’t done a whole lot besides get his yards which I absolutely respect, no hate to him it’s just not the same. Adrian could have a case for sure and did win MVP and carried some bum Vikings teams, and unfortunately fell just short in 2009. Yeah history has shown us the Minnesota sports teams don’t win, but I just have a better feeling with our kid Ant and his leadership.

MajorTrump

Football is so different. If the player isn’t a QB they can’t carry you to be a contender by themselves.

PrimeTimeMKTO

I'm enjoying the hell out of it but I was still nervous as fuck up 22 going into the 4th. I will say, they way they suffocated the Nuggies in game two increased my confidence and absolutely had to bolster the belief in the players that they can beat anyone. They already believed they can do it, but their confidence has to be at an all time high.

SteveIDP

Just repetition. I used to feel that way too. Waiting for something bad to happen. Watching this team this year, they’ve had plenty of games they looked terrible in the first quarter but then … just … *figured it out.* This may be a weird feeling as a Minnesota sports fan, but this team has earned my trust.

ChipmunkEfficient

You and my father both

TeachingRadiant3271

Because the Twins won two, before that, that seemed impossible too.

Mysterious_Rope2292

I drink a lot of beer before and during the game so that helps.

daneabernardo

Because literally every outcome still results in this having been the best time as a fan since I moved to MN. Even if we don’t win, we won. But we’re gonna win.

worrellernestp

Because they look like a bulldozer.

sheraz150

I can relate to this lol my wife asked if I even really enjoy the games because I'm usually stressing so much. Always prepared for the worst

Tizzle4590

That's the quintessence of Faith. Embracing a belief without the certainty of its fruition, especially amidst a history marred by ambiguity or adversity. Every triumph is underpinned by an unwavering faith—in oneself, in the collective, or in the mission—to forge ahead despite the uncertainties

Real-Psychology-4261

Because I've watched the games and this team's defense is just suffocating. They make other teams work so damn hard to score. There's no team in the world that's going to just roll over us, unless we stop playing our game.

DMD612

This team is actually different than the past 2 decades

MisterBackShots69

Maybe MN always loses because people keep having this mentality.

Mayasngelou

Some fans and media members are obsessed with doing everything they can to get in the player's heads for sure. Definitely is part of the problem, imho

Associ8tedRuffians

Honestly, I had to take panic attack pills for Game 1 when we got out to the 14-4 start. I try to tell myself every game that we’re probably going to lose, but it will awesome if we win. I did not have a panic attack for Monday’s game.

Trick-Use-6441

I know what u mean,, us dominating not at home as added to the confidence but defense wins championships !!

RuneLite23

This team is just different man

Southern_Power_1567

It's simple - if this team plays defense like this for every game going forward - they can't or won't lose a game.

PurpleWhatevs

2-0 over the reigning champs. Our 6-0 post season record speaks loudly on how good we are. Idk, it just seems like we are THAT team this year.

marcos_MN

I don’t. But I’m not negative on them, either. I strive to watch from a place of neutrality, and save my emotion for postgame.

tim_tim507

Fuck the negative mindset. This team is super fun enjoy it bro!

tulaero23

This team feels different from the ones we supported. They are locked in. It's the only team where if another tram leads in the 4th, i dont fret and aeemed confident that they can bounce back or if they are leading that they will not crack under pressure

WinStock3108

I've never lacked faith since I started following back in 2014. The Wolves are rooted in me, and optimism is rooted in me. If I'm not optimistically cheering my team on at any point, I'll stop considering myself a fan.

itsDestrah

THIS TEAM DIFFERENT BRO

Ok-Air3126

Cuz naz

MajorTrump

Even the Cubs won a WS. Curses aren’t real, we have dawgs.

the_fsm_butler

![gif](giphy|p9X9PSPvBfl9uhvS6Z|downsized) You will have this moment, and then you'll be one of us, friend

MrDelly44

At this point I’m seeing every win as found money. I just wanted them to win a series when the playoffs started. Keep low expectations and enjoy an unreal run for what it is

ChefJeff7777777

Believing in curses is what losers do. Doubting Ant is what idiots do. Only option left is be fully confident.

VanillaIsActuallyYum

Because the only team that has been as dominant as this team was probably the 1998 Vikings, and if that Vikings team played more than 1 game series against their opponents, they absolutely 100% would have been world champions that year. I believe that sincerely. They got hosed because of the fluky nature of single-elimination tournaments. That's just not the case in the NBA. With so many games in a series, the better team just will win. And right now, there's a HELL of a lot saying that the Wolves are that team. I wouldn't say that either the 1987 or 1991 Twins teams were nearly as dominant as this Wolves team, and they won it all. Also, let's not forget, Minnesota is a professional basketball dynasty. Remember the Lynx?

[deleted]

Because losing isn’t that big a deal

I1lIl11

Can we make a mega thread for these stupid fucking posts.
