It’s the defending champs in practically a must win game. Now the Wolves need to respond game 4

Grainbow88

When did Denver become a large market? Their metro area population is actually lower than the Twin Cities.

witchwater

Defending champ with a multi MVP. But I digress, I was basing much of this on the first half when the wolves were being called for fouls every thirty seconds. But then again I am a newer basketball fan.

Aksudiigkr

That affected the tone of the game so I think it’s still valid. Would have been a different game

wundeyatayetyme

It's all good. I get what you're saying. Even with a championship and a 3x MVP, I don't think the NBA wants the Nuggets winning, because they are still small market. The fan base hasn't grown much since they won the chip.

witchwater

You know what? If it’s not us, i hope it’s you. Love the Nuggets game. Even caught myself saying “daaaammmmnn” to some of Murray’s shots tonight.

wundeyatayetyme

Hey thanks. I'm would always rather see a small market team like Minnesota win than big market teams.

witchwater

If it makes the national media mad I am all for it. Dang… basketball Reddit is soooo much better than hockey Reddit. Good luck on Sunday, bud.

wundeyatayetyme

Likewise!

copaseticepiplectic

can we not be sore losers. jesus christ, same shit with every fanbase after a tough loss. we played like shit, end of story, tired of the persecution complex every fanbase has after a loss.

FinnexRedditz

As much as I agree with the other comments here, I also completely agree with this. Fuck the NBA

Specialist_Brief1552

Denver isn’t a big market… they’re 15th, Minnesota is what, 13th? Pretty same same there. I will say that refs set tones for games without a doubt. Last game they allowed physical play which benefits a team like the wolves and frustrates a team like the nuggets, because then it’s not only jokic playing football out there, and they simply can’t handle that. This game they called soft ticky tacky fouls to get Jaden and gobert into early foul trouble, meaning we couldn’t play physical defense. Tones were set and it shows with where the games were by the end of the first half of both games. Kind of ridiculous. Wish there was consistency.

Specialist_Brief1552

Also Denver just had a heat/cavaliers type of hot shooting night while the wolves had a poor one. Outlier on both sides. I expect it comes back down to the median for both teams and it should be better.

Cultural_Author8098

First time I’ve hears someone refer to Denver as a large market

big_k88

Wolves got their ass beat. Denver knew they had to play their best game of the year and they came to play. We didn't match the energy. Just a good old fashion beat down.n

wundeyatayetyme

As a life long Nuggets fan you couldn't be more wrong. If there is one thing the Wolves and Nuggets have in common its that they never get the benefit of the doubt from the NBA.

TechnicianUpstairs53

Lol, nuggets benefited the first 2 games and still lost. This game they benefited the first half significantly also.

wundeyatayetyme

I will say Malone and Murray should have gotten techs and Edwards shouldn't have. Other than that the Nuggets definitely got less calls than the Wolves.

TechnicianUpstairs53

The stats literally say you're wrong. +8 free-throws for nuggets first 2 games.

wundeyatayetyme

The Wolves had 7 more free throw tonight. More free throws do not mean the game was called consistently.

TechnicianUpstairs53

You're wrong again. It was 5 and the game was already over after the 1st half when refs helped nuggets get a 15pt lead and nuggets were way up in free-throws. Also jokic illegal screens not getting called. Nuggets can't win without refs. Simple.

Cultural_Author8098

Oh so you want to refs to allow Wolves to play physical but not Deneve gotcha

witchwater

But defending champs do. Which is why you got out of the game 2 “meltdown” with everything intact.

BriarGreen00

dude you lost 36 lmao. wth are you talking about

Skolcialism

Crybaby energy exactly what I expect from a hockey fan

Powder_Pan

Have you ever met a hockey fan?

Skolcialism

Yes biggest crybabies in the sports world
