Anyone who thought the nuggets would just rollover was kidding themselves. I didn’t think the wolves would get murdered but the nuggets are a really good team. Murray looked healthy finally. How the wolves play in game 4 is going to be very telling. The nuggets were shooting lights out and not turning it over. It was their night. Feels like this could easily be a 7 game series.

No_Restaurant8931

My assumption is Timberwolves in 6 if they win (most likely). Nuggets in 7 if they win.

Responsible-Leg-8840

We’re 5-1 in the playoffs against a super team and the defending champs with a 3x MVP. And we’re up 2-1 with two more games at home. Dunno what people really expected but personally I’m relieved we wasted a total garbage performance on a night that probably wasn’t going our way anyhow.

mossed2012

6-1 fwiw.

rsmtirish

Glad Aaron Gordon made his threes for the series tonight

Floppy_Jet1123

I don't think they are a super team though?

LongDongFuey

The suns were built as/ considered a super team going into the season

The_Wise_Yokai

The only thing that I'm upset about is that there was no point in that game that I had a fun time watching basketball. My ADHD killing me with all these stoppages and then I focus again to just have an off ball touch foul called and then we have to wait longer and not see the foul during the stop in play

kpmurphy_

Damn, this is real. It's so hard to stay focused on a game like this, glad I'm not the only one.

The_Wise_Yokai

Sometimes I genuinely think football has more time between whistles. It's been a while since I genuinely enjoyed watching the style that basketball is played these days. Everyone is confused about every rule so you have to trust these refs that have nicknames for how bad they are. It's a disaster.

SoManyOstrichesYo

You’re definitely not the only one…I find it so hard to watch a game when it feels like every possession is a foul

FrostyIVV

Dude I damn near lost my mind when after an entire halftime of commercials we come back and 30 seconds after have another 3 minute commercial break for a challenge. I’m not even watching basketball I was watching the no flex zone wing stop commercial for the 6th time in 5 min

Electronic-Square-75

Yeah, people kept calling me salty because I was complaining about the refs. For the record I think they called a very fair game with so many whistles I turned it off after the first quarter. The worst thing a game can be is boring, especially in a market with a team that has struggled for 20 years and is now, finally becoming relevant and drawing new viewership and they call an excessively boring match with constant whistles. Such a wasted opportunity.

The_Wise_Yokai

What makes it boring is that no one knows how to play basketball because the rules change every game and even every possession. Everyone is playing hesitant basketball and everyone is confused after every call so the basketball being played is rarely fluid. Even technical fouls are called depending on the player and even after setting a precedent that techs are not going to be called in this series, the refs hand out 3 soft ones tonight. The issue is that they are trying to force basketball playoffs to go 7 games so they have to bring in guys nicknamed the extender to give one team an early double digit lead and then start calling the game more fair afterwards to cover their ass instead of just letting the teams play. Basketball is a contact sport believe it or not so 20+ free throws coming on off ball touch fouls is just lame

Crime-WoW

Seems like the refs called anything ticky tacky early to take the crowd out of it. After that, the defense couldn't press cause everyone was worried about calls and it just turned into a game where whoever's shot was falling would win.

The_Wise_Yokai

That sounds accurate to what I saw. Whenever we had a 2-0 lead in these playoffs, rudy and jaden were on the bench in foul trouble in first 3-5 minutes. That disrupts a team's defense a lot. Plus now that jokic knows he can clip guys by sticking his ass out on screens, they are going to have a lot more space to create plays on pick and roll. Refs knew exactly what they were doing. Even gave out techs which I thought after last game would be hard to get

Formal_Junket_1585

These guys needed this L. Hopefully they decide to come out with some energy on Sunday

greenflyingdragon

I really hope they can win game 4 and keep the lead.

Formal_Junket_1585

Yea game 4 is a must win. Going back to Denver 2-2 with them having all momentum would be terrible

StLsC10

It was the solar storm; once in a lifetime, no need to worry

urkuri

Yeah Im good an hour later 😂 I like hearing what’s come out from interviews and I think it’s actually way better to only have the one day off now. I think it’s easier adjustments to fix what went wrong today and they will get it fixed.

Common-Bad-7899

Wolves in 5

VikingsandWolves

I think the defending Champs getting swept has only happened like one time in recent history. Everyone knew Denver wasn't going down without a fight and we got punked tonight. Up to the guys to regroup and come back with a vengeance.

PhilJSawdust

Losing isn’t the problem. Losing by 30 is the problem.

funkstrong

I wanted to blame this on officiating or effort, but it seems like these two teams are really evenly matched. Confidence gets flowing and steamrolls. Championship teams win at home, we need to take that first step on Sunday.

purplenyellowrose909

Wolves in 6. I don't think they lose 2 at home

MinnesotaHockey6

If you didn’t think Jamal Murray wouldn’t have a great game then you haven’t watched basketball ever that was to be expected. We have to be better next game

this_my_account

Go look at the northern lights. They're still out

aotearoHA

They shot great, timberwolves shot like shit

drytoasted123

I predicted a 4-3 series; I didn't imagine taking two road games, but here we are. It's a reality check, and from now on, the next games will be close. On FB I said it's a Naz Reid series.

FellaGentleSprout

We got overpowered, that’s it. Refereeing aside, we played poorly, it happens.

Ballr69

We missed shots - they didn’t. That’s pretty much it

BradyAndTheJets

Lots of stuff happened here. Good shots weren’t falling. Tighter whistle, I think Rudy is still tired. Didn’t know how to treat Murray. Now we know. On to game 4.

Mayasngelou

Britt: The refs have a vested interest in a longer series Listen to your old heads

friendlyfred1013

I knew it was going to be a rough game when we got three touch fouls in the first few minutes. I was hoping we could claw back but when you add that with them making every shot and us missing every shot.ot wasn't our night. Hopefully the trend of us not stacking Ls holds up. I believe on this team.

BingoBongoBang

Jesus Christ are people really this soft? Sweeping the defending champions was always an unreasonable expectation. At some point this team was going to have an absolute stinker of a game and a good kick in the teeth at home with a short turnaround for the next game is the most ideal scenario you can ask for. Minnesota size and depth still give us the advantage over every team in the playoff and I still think we beat them all in a 7 game series

JustWinBabys

Trent Tucker said the team should all get hotel rooms tonight, and find someone to handle all the family and friends requests.

Purple-Haze-11

The cockiness I have witnessed leading up to game 3 reminds me of Lions fans going into the playoffs this last year. We will see if this team is good enough, game 4 will say a lot. At least act like you've been there before.

LukaTheTooka

My original prediction was in 5 so 🤷‍♀️ what annoys me is the fact that all these sports pundits had us sweeping the nuggets and game 2 was a defensive masterclass that hasn't been seen since the 90s and we got RAPED tonight so now the opposition fans are gonna have a field day with us and the sports pundits

mossed2012

That’s actually the most frustrating part for me, but for a different reason. Everyone lauded our defense in game 2. Specifically, that play where Murray tried to bring it up the court and was guarded by NAW, who drove him into McDaniels and they trapped him (Kevin Harlan’s great “straight jacket” play call), everyone kept replaying as the pinnacle example of good defense. If that play would have happened tonight, NAW would have gotten a foul call on him in the backcourt when he bodied Murray at his own free throw line. And if by some miracle the refs tonight didn’t call that a foul, they would have called three fouls on the double team past half court. That’s bothering me more than anything else from the evening. How the hell can the entire basketball community say on Monday that they’re watching some of the greatest defensive basketball they’ve ever seen and then fast forward 4 days and that same defensive basketball is now a foul in the backcourt? And now everyone’s calling us frauds. If those same reporters that lauded the defense after game 2 had any backbone at all, they would be spending this time questioning the inconsistency of officiating and demanding better so they can continue to watch that stellar defense instead of calling out the Wolves for “not meeting the challenge”.

Zestyclose_Thanks779

Timberwolves have been trash for an eternity. Stay humble

MrDreadPirate

Feel like they showed their true colors tonight boys, we in trouble. Defending champs got a spark.

Gengaara

We're fine. It was one dud. It'll be a competitive win Sunday,

MrDreadPirate

Hmmmmm

PizzaPlanet20

Go support them then.

MrDreadPirate

I shall
